Digital X-rays offer a huge advantage in early detection and preventive services. Advanced image manipulation and analysis, for example, allows your doctor to detect early stages of gum disease through recognition of bone level changes, or by evaluating the results against a previous treatment.

An intraoral camera is an indispensable diagnostic and educational tool. The tiny video camera moves around inside of your mouth and generates a tooth by tooth video exam of your teeth. Using an intraoral camera allows patients to better understand their dental needs by seeing what the dentist sees and then having it explained.

Lasers are a non-surgical approach to arresting the progression of periodontal disease. Following scaling and root planing, a laser is used to significantly reduce the bacterial colonies and decontaminate the infected periodontal pocket. Lasers also remove the infected tissue lining the periodontal pocket. As the infected tissue is removed, microscopic blood clots form and your body's natural healing response takes over. As you heal, the tissue reattaches to the bone and your gums return to a healthy infection-free state.

Get a second opinion. They tried to charge me what my insurance covers..went to another dentist and they took care of me..didn't have to pay more than I should. Procedure they called for was way off.

Having spent 30 years looking for quality dental care, it is a relief to have finally found it in Las Posas Dental. Procedures are explained in advance with multiple options presented along with the pros and cons of each. The patient is in control with guidance from a more than competent staff. Everyone is super friendly and enjoy their work reflecting in a pleasant visit every time. Dr. Tran uses the most up-to-date technology available. I have recommended this office to associates as far away as Los Angeles. None have ever been disappointed. Simply the best.

Came in to established care apparently they are so backed up they are no longer accepting new patients. After they said on the phone they do. Go elsewhere.

Dr.Tran and his staff were so kind and accommodating. It's refreshing to have a dentist and his team who are so professional and outgoing. I had my teeth cleaned and a cavity replaced. Time went by so quickly and the entire process was efficient and painless with Dr.Tran's expertise.

I had a horrible experience here a few years ago; I wasn't going to leave a review, but the fact that I am still enraged at how I was treated just goes to show how terrible it was. I would give zero stars if I could. When I first moved to San Marcos from Northern California, as per my previous dentist's instructions I wanted to book a consultation with an oral surgeon to see how much it would cost to get one of my bottom front teeth pulled (Long story short, my bottom teeth are overcrowded, when I was a kid one of the front bottom teeth got pushed back behind another, and all throughout my young adulthood my dentist recommended I simply get it pulled, as my other teeth had no gaps and filled its function just fine). I came in for my consultation appointment, did the paperwork, the x-rays, etc; Deanna in the office was SO sweet and kind (I don't believe she works there anymore). When the time came for the consultation with the oral surgeon about the bottom tooth, Dr. Pham came in and, without even smiling or acknowledging me, immediately begins berating me about my wisdom teeth. I was shocked, as my previous dentist had said repeatedly, year after year, that I did not need to get my wisdom teeth out unless they bothered me, because up until that point, they were not close to breaking through, and hadn't caused me any discomfort at all. Dr. Pham explained abruptly and condescendingly that my real focus should be my wisdom teeth, said that I was irresponsible for waiting so long to get them pulled (I was 23), and that if I waited any longer I'd probably have irreversible nerve damage from the surgery. He was trying to intimidate me into agreeing to this procedure as soon as possible. I took his word for the fact that I had wisdom teeth buried in there somewhere, but I explained that my dentist had told me that I didn't need to worry about my wisdom teeth if they weren't bothering me, which they weren't, so that's why I had never gotten them out yet. He didn't care and kept telling me how he couldn't believe I had never gotten them out, that I had listened to bad advice, and how irresponsible it was of me and my previous dentist (who's been practicing for TWICE as long as Dr. Pham). I didn't mind the fact that he thought my wisdom teeth should be addressed. What angered me was the way he used blame, shame and condescension to try to pressure me into booking a surgery with him. It was humiliating and disgusting. I calmly requested a quote for how much the wisdom teeth surgery would cost, as money was a factor (I was a recent college graduate living completely on my own small income with no support from family.) He left the room and sent Deanna into the exam room to draft up an estimate for me. She was walking me through it, but he came back into the room, interrupted her and said "can you come here for a minute." He pulled her out of the room right in the middle of my consultation and spoke to her, loudly enough for me to hear, in the hallway, asking whether I had agreed to do the surgery yet, that it was not optional, and that she should convince me to come in for it immediately. Once he allowed her to come back into the room, she apologized (she was an angel) and tried to diffuse the tension by making some excuse for his behavior. By this time, I had seen more than enough. I took the printout with the estimate amount on it, left the office, and never returned. I told all of my friends in the area AND all my coworkers about my experience, and cautioned them against trusting Dr. Pham. To this day, I have never been treated with as little respect, in such an unprofessional manner, by any medical professional I've ever seen. The ONLY good thing about the experience was Deanna. She was amazing, accommodating, sweet, and professional. I believe she no longer works in the office - good for her. She deserves WAY better. Dr. Pham is manipulative and a disgrace to medical professionals. If you are thinking about oral surgery at Las Posas, don't do it.

I have always been so full of anxiety going to a dentist that I quit going for probably 15-20 years. When I got a broken tooth infection, I went to 2 other dentists before this place. They take the dental insurance you can get from Costco and it saved me a couple thousand dollars. EVERYONE is kind and friendly. Dr Tran, the main dentist, is my hero! He has such a soothing, relaxing voice, and explains everything he's doing in a very easy to understand and comforting way. He even kind of hums while he works occasionally, which means he really loves his job. Dr Deagle and his team were great, too, and the second time they did a root canal for me I didn't even need the laughing gas for the first time in my life. I used to need it even just for fillings. Because I had let my teeth go for so long, 2 of them needed crown lengthening. Dr Anna Hsu took care of this and she was really wonderful and caring. She even called that night to see how I was doing. Seriously, everyone in this office is top notch and I recommend them highly!

I had an appointment for a basic teeth cleaning scheduled for the beginning of April. I was giving this dentist a try as we just moved up to that area. I filled out an online form beforehand but the appointment was pushed back two months because of COVID. I got pregnant during that time and mentioned it - as the form still said otherwise and it didn't allow me to change this info - when I checked in for my routine teeth cleaning appt. yesterday and also said that I don't feel comfortable with xrays (if that was something they were going to do). The lady at the front told me that they, however, require xrays, as per their office policy, for first time visitors. I found this extremely bizarre because during my first pregnancy, my old dentist actually would not take xrays at all if the exam showed no dental issues in general. So, requiring first time visitors who are pregnant to take xrays otherwise they won't be treated is insensitive, not safe, and just totally mind-blowing. She then went on telling me they couldn't treat me anyway because I didn't have a letter from my OB basically saying that it's okay for them to clean my teeth. Excuse me? Since when does someone else need to "allow me" to get a basic exam and teeth cleaning? Shouldn't I be able to make this decision for myself and my body? Thought so. But, wait, I get it (from their perspective): The lady told me the letter would have to also state that it's okay to take xrays. But fact is: It's not okay to take xrays during your first trimester, ideally not at all during pregnancy. It's not okay to make first time visitors (who are pregnant, also!!!) take xrays (but trying to be "professional and safe" by requiring a clearance from the OB) and not giving them the option to opt out. Shouldn't it be my loss if I potentially missed a greater dental problem due to no xrays taken? But she made it seem as if the doctor would not know what's going on with my dental health WITHOUT the xrays. It's absolutely ridiculous and a policy no other dentist seems to have (and I called up a few after I left -- because, as you now know, they wouldn't treat me anyway due to the reasons mentioned above, even if I was nuts enough to be wanting to subject my body to their first time visitor procedure.). This all screams "money making and no personal care" to me. There's always the possibility to opt out of xrays (pregnant or not) and, in fact, San Marcos Dental Studio was able to get me in for a cleaning and basic exam the same day. Wonderful customer service and understanding staff at SMDS. Spoiler alert: No OB letter needed for a basic cleaning (unless greater procedures would have to be done - understandable) and since my dental health is perfect, they won't even take xrays for the rest of my pregnancy. So, bottom line: Horrendous experience at Las Posas Dental and I absolutely Do Not recommend this to any first time patients there. Ps: When I asked the lady about the written office policy, she started going round in circles. Explains a lot, as well.

I am first time patient and I have nothing but positive feedback! Wow, I am impressed with this dentist office, it is amazing in every aspect! I am a very picky person in general and because so, I do a lot of research prior to selecting anything. This dental practice is in a new building, they have clean state of the art technology, the staff is very knowledgeable, accessible, patient, detailed and provide a warm transparent atmosphere and environment. Upon arrival I was immediately welcomed and greeted. Heads up, the office is eco-friendly, they are paperless - therefore all paperwork needs to be filled out prior to arrival. After I was check-in, I had a sit down with Dr. Blanco in his office and we talked about my dental history, questions and any concerns I may have. He shared that prior to commencing any procedure the staff and himself would ensure I comprehended the procedure/treatment, recommendations and payment options: e.g. in house finance availability and other options. Overall, Dr. Blanco was very professional, knowledgeable, thorough, a great communicator and listener with great bed side matters. I definitely felt comfortable and at ease with Dr. Blanco and the staff - I highly recommend this dentist office to family, friends and you that may be reading this review. Check them out.
