Las Clinicas del Norte (LCDN) is a federally designated Frontier Community Health Center, and provides services to the approximately 14,720 residents of its service area, covering 2,500 square miles in parts of Rio Arriba and Taos Counties, both of which have been designated Medically Underserved Areas (MUAs). The LCDN service area is a frontier region, with low population density (4.2 persons/square mile), with widely scattered villages and small towns. Las Clinicas del Norte is the only provider of primary care, oral health care, and behavioral health services in its service area. The area is extremely rural and mountainous, with winters that sometimes make travel hazardous.
Our vision is to provide culturally competent care to the underserved and medically indigent patients in a remote part of northern New Mexico. LCDN operates three clinic sites, in El Rito, Abiquiu, and Ojo Caliente, all strategically located to provide maximum access to the areas rural residents. LCDN also operates school-based health centers in Abiquiu, 2 in the Mesa Vista School District at El Rito and near Ojo Caliente, and in Pojoaque, NM, a rural community 20 miles north of Santa Fe, adjacent to Pojoaque Pueblo.

I haven't had experience in the medical part but dental is amazing.All the staff always try to help, offer good service are very friendly, professional & always work with you on the amount & payments when you don't have ins. There not like other dentists who just try to make you pull your teeth out due to lack of ins or funds.They always try to get you in as soon as possible & respond to your voicemails promptly. Great job dental team for a job well done. Just another satisfied patient.

I showed up at my appointment where I met another gentleman already waiting outside the clinic because they would not open the door for him. He was told to go to another entrance so obviously he had been seen, we knocked and knocked and waited in the sun for about 20 minutes. Finally the gentleman couldnt wait anymore and left, an employee walked out and I asked if they were open,He told me they were in lunch, I let him know I had an appointment and he asked another employee inside when she told him "yeah but she's not confirmed" I would've appreciated a confirmation call or at least them letting me know they weren't going to take me since apparently she knew I was waiting outside. He told me they would be right with me and I waited for another 10 minutes before leaving.

The woman dentist that pulled my tooth was not only very rude and aggressive, but when she pulled my tooth, immediately broke it, and when I panicked a little, mocked me, and made fun of me. She exclaimed that she would be done when she would be done and that she had been doing this for 25 years or so. In my vulnerable situation, I bared with her not only verbal aggression but physical as well. I had to fight panic as she clanked my front teeth with her drill. It was an adrenaline rush from hell. When it was over, it ended up taking 3 or 4 months to heal, for she had forgotten a couple of pieces of my tooth in my gums. I did not want to go back there. My fear of dentists already was a real thing for me, and especially dentists in new mexico, and by the time I had realized the situation, the pieces were already well on there way out. When the pushed out finally, the one anyway, looked like a goat head. I have a picture of this said goat head looking tooth as well. Have not been back to dentist yet, and am certainly even more so weary now more than ever. Worst dental experience of my life yet.
