Thats because dental problems can become exponentially more expensive and painful the longer they go unaddressed. Fortunately, modern dentistry has many easy and relatively inexpensive ways to make sure that todays minor annoyance does not turn into tomorrows major headache.

Preventive dentistry describes all the procedures used to arrest tooth decay and other diseases in the earliest stages. The goal is to keep you as healthy as possible and maintain your natural teeth for life.

  • Cleanings This is where dental health starts. Theres just no substitute for physically removing disease-causing dental plaque and calculus (tartar) from your teeth especially in hard-to-reach areas near the gum line. Thats why regular professional cleanings are so important to your health.
  • Fluoride This mineral is readily incorporated into the teeths mineral structure, thereby making them stronger and more decay-resistant. Fluoride can even reverse tiny cavities that are starting to form. If you are not getting enough from your toothpaste and drinking water, it can be applied directly to your teeth at the dental office.
  • Mouthguards Athletic mouthguards are designed to absorb and distribute the forces of impact and minimize traumatic injury to both the hard and soft tissues of the mouth. In fact, an athlete is 60 times more likely to suffer harm to teeth when not wearing a mouthguard. The best ones are custom-made for you by your dentist.
  • Oral Cancer Screenings Your best chance of surviving oral cancer a disease that affects not only lifelong smokers but also young non-smokers is early detection and treatment. Oral cancer screenings are a routine part of every regular dental exam.
  • X-Rays For around a century, dentists have been using x-rays to reveal signs of disease not visible to the naked eye. Now, with CAT scans, they have become three-dimensional and are an indispensable tool to diagnose tooth decay, gum disease, bone density, bone volume, and tumors.
  • The implants themselves are tiny titanium posts that are surgically placed into the jawbone where teeth are missing. These metal anchors act as tooth root substitutes. The bone bonds with the titanium, creating a strong foundation for artificial teeth. Small posts that protrude through the gums are then attached to the implant. These posts provide stable anchors for artificial replacement teeth.

Dental implants also help preserve facial structure, preventing bone deterioration that occurs when teeth are missing. Langley Dental is committed to ensuring your optimal comfort and quality care. We use the latest techniques to ensure efficient, stress-free treatment.

Dental implants may be paired with replacement crowns for full tooth replacement. They may also be used to anchor dentures. We will recommend your teeth replacement plan based on your individual needs and preferences.

In some cases, Dr. Park may recommend advance treatment for your upper or lower jaw. Your individual plan is based on your unique needs and goals for your healthy smile. Be sure to let us know about any medications you are taking. Your health and safety are paramount.

I just had my first appointment today at Dr. Park's office and I would definitely recommend this dental practice! His staff is so warm, friendly and personable, it reminded me of my childhood family dental office. I look forward to continuing our family's dental care here! Dr. Park is super knowledgeable and recommended grinding down an old filling that had been causing my chewing to be off and was bothering me for years; my previous dentist insisted it was fine, and it felt better instantly. The hygienist was so lovely and did an excellent job on my way over due cleaning. After reading a few other older reviews I feel their prices are actually quite reasonable without insurance, what dentist is cheap? None!

While this dentist is conveniently located, scheduling was easy and the office has a dental assistant Barbara that was very nice, I would suggest patrons seek a dentist outside of Langley or off island. This dentist had prescribed a number treatments that were very irregular for my wife and I given our dental history. We were very suspicious for the number of extra visits we were scheduled for and some of the practices such as scheduling two different appointments for an initial consultation and cleaning. Something I haven't had a dentist do ever. They had temps doing cleaning that were really rough on gums. etc etc. I run into other old patients from this office all the time and the story is the same as ours. In fact I feel like all the bad reviews I once read came to life, but have mysteriously been removed. Don't just check online, ask around to a few other south Whidbey people to get a real opinion. I strongly suggest a different dentist.

I am retired & on limited income.. I hadn't had a dental exam for some time & decided to take advantage of the $99 'New Patient Special'.. All went well until I received the recommend schedule of 'problem areas' needing work.. The list ran into the Thousands of $$$$$.. I sought a second opinion & discovered the vast majority of the work was unnecessary.. I had the small chip on a front tooth which started my search for a reliable dentist repaired & will remain with Whidbey Island Smiles for further care..
