I have been going this office almost 8 years. And Dr. Hanson has been so friendly and nice always as well as other staff members and hygienists.

UPDATE - and if Debbie doesn't like you, you got stuck with a HUGE bill. She quoted me one price, but after I posted the review below, she sent a bill to my home that is WAY OVER WHAT SHE QUOTED ME! SECOND UPDATE: They tried billing my husband and listing him as the patient for the horrible overcharge they made on my dental work. My insurance company is now investigating them for their unethical billing practices. Don't go here unless you can put up with horrible, rude and disrespectful customer service! 02/2022 If you can get an appointment with Dr. Hanson and his hygienist actually shows up, you will have a great visit. Dr. Hanson is thoughtful and compassionate. The front desk staff is difficult to deal with, they don't listen to customer's needs carefully, they make assumptions about treatment and diagnosis and just aren't helpful folks overall. They have a tendency to over-react and just assume the worst of you as a patient (they assumed I would intentionally try to infect others with COVID-19 and no, I would never do that and I actually wear two masks at all times since I have other health issues). I don't like the other dentists in the practice either. They seem to just be out for your money. They tell you that you will need all this work, but when you get a second opinion, like from Dr. Hanson, he carefully explains what you really need. Super sad that I am unlikely to return to the practice because Dr. Hanson is awesome but I just had repeated negative experiences with the front desk staff and the last straw was when they didn't care to see me when I was in pain and had a swollen face from work they had done just a few days before. Front desk staff was just nasty and non-compassionate over the phone.

Dr. Hanson made my experience at this dentist office a extremely pleasant experience. I highly recommend Lanmark Dental and especially Dr. Hanson.

I have to say Doctor Hanson and his group if hygienist are amazing very professional, nice, caring. Now THE RECEPTIONIST DEBBIE is by far the worst person I've ever met at any practice. She is rude, nasty to people as they come in the door, never greats or looks at you. I have been going there for the quality of work Dr. Hanson does and because he knows my family's dental histor, but if it wasn't for him I would never step foot here give the attitude of "the office manager DEBBIE". Last year i was about 5 minutes late I was pregnant and the lady said i needed to reschedule because i was late. I was coming from another medical appointment and was walking as fast as a pregnant woman walk at almost 9 month. My baby was due on March 11 and my appointment that day was on the 26th. I explained i was coming from another appointment and she didn't show any sympathy for a pregnant women whatsoever, never made an attempt to help all she could do was be nasty and rude to me when no one else was there and the office was empty. I ask for the office manager to which she said guess what it's me, I demanded to not talk to her anymore and asked to see the doctor or I wasn't going to leave period. After leaving the office and having the heated argument with this very rude lady I started having contractions and 3 hours later had my baby. This is why I prefer to talk to vilma and the other office assistant because this lady is no good and lack professionalism ethic and costumer services training. Today I walked in for another appointment and she said I need to take your temperature and I said good afternoon she ignored me and said LAST NAME? and I responded good afternoon and she ignored me once again and then I asked her if she couldn't greet people as they walk in the door. While I understand people having a bad day this lady simply has bad days every day, she is nothing but nasty, rude, difficult, problematic and does what ever she want chooses what to charge and milk your insurance. Make sure you look at the bill and discuss it with the doctor before you agree to anything. And again this office has plenty complaints about DEBBIE and should do something about her because her lack of professionalism has gotten out of control, the office staff agrees that she is a very mean and problematic individual. PLEASE AVOID HER AT ALL COST POSSIBLE!!!! Doctor Hanson you guys are amazing for being so professional and being able to deal with this ridiculous type of person and toxic environment. Blessings to everyone in the back, and vilma who sits next to her everyday...

I had my second visit today and it was great. Dr. Hanson and Dr. Lee are very knowledgeable. Hygienist was very sweet and great with dental cleaning education. Everyone is nice here so I'm looking forward to my next visit :)

As a new patient in the DMV area, Dr. Hanson made me feel very welcomed as well as the dental assistants upfront. Dr. Hanson carefully explained step by step the process he initiated when taking X-Rays and going over general cleaning. Genuinely a good experience! _________________________________________ UPDATE: The receptionist named 'Debbie' was extremely rude and unprofessional. I had a 2PM appointment and came 15 minutes early to check in with my mother along with me. She immediately confronted my mother with a disrespectful tone and told her "if you don't have an appointment you need to leave and go to your car". We understand the COVID regulations and how important it is to maintain social distance, however the lobby was completely empty and I reassured her that my mom would be waiting outside. She then stated, "I don't know if your mom heard me but I'm telling you how it is". Her attitude wasn't necessary and there could have been a more friendly approach with that! Her approach is probably the reason I won't come back doing business.

This is the only dentist office I visit in this area. I saw Dr. Hanson for an emergency visit today with a broken tooth that had been giving me issues for a while. I ultimately opted for an extraction, but he walked through all the options and gave me the vote of confidence that he would do whatever it took to ease my pain and anxiety during my visit. I don't know what kind if mythical being he is, but Dr. Hanson has an incredible energy and calming presence. So much so that someone like me with bad dental anxiety feels completely at ease and truly calmed and understood by him. I think it's commonplace for people to expect a dentist to shame us or punish us for being bad with our oral hygiene, but Dr. Hanson makes me feel like a real human being and keeps me feeling solutions oriented about my teeth rather than shameful or dejected about the prognosis for my mouth. ANYWAY all of this to say that this office has a comprehensively amazing team, and I feel heard and validated in every step of the process. They work to help people in any insurance coverage situation, and I recommend everyone considers seeing this great office for their oral needs.

I've been impressed with the staff here. I first came due to a permanent retainer coming loose shortly after moving to the area. A previous dentist tried to fix it but it wasn't an impressive job and the retainer came loose again. The dentist here fixed it quickly and successfully. The fix has been holding strong for going on three years new. The dentists, hygienist, and office staff have always been polite, helpful, and knowledgeable.

The doctor's attention to detail and personality are fantastic. My last dentist wanted to perform a $900 deep gum cleanse, but Dr. Hanson fixed the problem with a manual cleaning. I was very impressed! The hygienists explain tooth care and do pretty well with patients too. Parking is a little tough and I think the lobby could use a paint job, but other than that, great place.

Landmark Dental has been a great experience for me. Dr. Hanson is friendly, kind, extremely competent, and very knowledgeable. I went to Landmark Dental Studio after moving to this area. I found the transition from my Colorado dentist to Dr. Hanson quite smooth, and without any glitches. I easily recommend the services of Dr. Hanson at Landmark studio, without reservation!

Dr Hanson and Dr Lee are very good at what they do. I've had an extensive work with my molar tooth and they couldn't be more attentive and welcoming. The staff are also great! I highly recommend this to my friends and love ones

Everyone at Landmark Dental is very professional. From the front desk to the Hygienist, they greet you with beautiful smile. And all the hygienists are gentle and comforting. I really look forward getting my teeth cleaned. My son loves going as well with no complaints. Thank you so much!!!

I set an appointment for a teeth cleaning for Friday morning on 8/7/20. This is my first time coming to this place, and everyone in there was polite and friendly. The best part about landmark dental at 5130 Duke St, is the cleaning. She in the office on the left as you walk through the doors to start your dental visit, she did an amazing job with my teeth and took her time making me feel relaxed. I will recommend landmark dental as top five dental offices in Alexandria VA. If you never been book an appointment, come experience what a top five dental office will do for you.
