Dr. Alexis Shrager grew up in Russia and movedto Jacksonville, Florida in the mid 90s at age 15. Her passion for quality orthodontics began at an early age when she herself received interceptive orthodontic treatment. After moving to the UnitedStates, Dr. Shrager completed her Accelerated Early Dental Admission program with the University of Florida and University of North Florida and went on to receive her Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 2003 from Nova Southeastern University School of Dental Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.During her training at Nova, she was presented with numerous achievement awards and acknowledgements.She graduated at the top of her dental class and was the youngest one among her dentist peers.
After graduating from Nova South Eastern University Dental School, Dr. Shrager completed her residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where she received her Certificate of Specialist in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics in 2006. The UPMC hospital-based residency provided Dr Shrager with extensive training in management and treatment of orthognathic, surgical, and Cleft Lip and Palate patients.
Dr. Shrager has continuously maintained the prestigious status of a Diplomate of American Board of Orthodontics for her entire orthodontic career.Based on her training, Dr. Shrager enjoys treating complicated, multidisciplinary, surgical and cosmetic cases. She attends numerous continuing education courses and participates in Raleigh Wake study clubs.
Dr. Shrager believes strongly in giving back to our community by sponsoring and participating in fundraising and local school and community events. She enjoys mentoring students who are interested in pursuing careers in dentistry and orthodontics.
Professionally, Dr. Shrager is affiliated with the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Raleigh Wake Dental Society, Southern Association of Orthodontists, Spear Study Club, and The Raleigh Wake Society of Women Dentists.
Her interests include traveling, arts and most importantly, spending time with her family.She resides in North Raleigh with her husband Dr. Anthony Horalek, a fellow practicing endodontist, and her four children.

If you missed three appointments the staff will not let you know about their hidden fee of $350. Also if you have an emergency with your braces that could cause pain. Be ready to feel that pain for a few days because the staff is so overbooked their Emergency phone# takes a few days for them to contact you. A online portal would help with contacting this office. I rarely get someone to answer the phone.

My patience is truly running thing with this place and the staff. it is so hard to get in contact with this place. I called numerous times and no one picks up. I left voicemails and I don't get call back. This is my first few months in and I am bothered by the quality and the service I am getting. 4 locations but maybe it should only be one. The staff is over worked and making mistakes.

Unfortunately the lowest rating I can give is 1-star. Absolutely the worst braces experience I've ever had. I've hardly been able to get an appointment at one of their 4 rotating locations. My 2nd to last appointment before getting them off, my appointment got canceled last-minute with no reschedule. I haven't been able to make an appointment for weeks in advance and when I show up there is typically over an hour wait time. I wish my mom never took me here because now I'm wasting weeks due to horrible business managements and awful customer service. Never in my life would I treats any of my clients like this and expect return business. But hey I guess you don't have to worry about that when you're an ortho that primarily works on kids. (who aren't paying for it & that wouldn't know the difference between good and bad service) Good luck getting someone to answer a phone call too or text too Would NOT Recommend

Dr. Land was great before retirement. Since he retired this place has become the worst orthodontics practice. When arriving early or on time for your scheduled appointments, you will be waiting for at least an hour before you are taken in the back and it could be another 20-30 minutes before services are rendered. Don't bother trying to call because they never answer the phone and when they do answer majority of the staff gives an attitude. Overall I would not recommend this practice to anyone. Majority of the staff is unprofessional and rude.

Its a very friendly environment and they make you feel comfortable. Any concerns you have they address it and will work with you. Very family vibe. The scheduling for appointment's is very easy and covenant.
