Lancaster Pediatric Dental Associates - Pediatric dentist in Lancaster, PA

I would like to begin by thanking you for your trust and confidence in allowing me to provide your dental care for the last 36 years. I am writing this letter to inform you that I will be retiring on December 10th, 2021. While I will be retiring from in-office care, I will continue to be a part of the LPDA family. This decision was a difficult one because I truly enjoy being a dentist and the relationships that I have built with my patients and team. Practicing dental care in Lancaster over the last 36 years has been a privilege, and I am pleased to say that the practice will continue to serve Lancaster after my retirement.

I will be leaving the practice in the capable hands of the fantastic staff and caregivers at LPDA. I have the utmost confidence that they will continue to provide the standard of care all our patients have come to expect.

I have enjoyed building my practice from scratch. I have watched your families grow; it has been a true pleasure treating several generations of your families. Many of you have become personal friends, and I cherish those friendships. While I will miss you all, I am looking forward to retirement to spend time with my family and enjoy my hobbies. The past 36 years of serving you have been a blessing and a joy; thank you again for allowing me to care for you.

This is not the practice it once was. Dr. Ross was a fantastic dentist and we raised two kids through his practice. When he owned it, the practice was about service and putting the patients first. I only had one other experience in those years and it was with one of the current dentists who told my young son that he had a cavity, but when Dr. Ross was ready to fill it, he looked at the X-ray and said he did not have a cavity at all. I never let any other dentist see my children after that. The dentists there now are not honest! My son had no pain, he was just going for a cleaning and that dentist took advantage of us. My insurance company even said that their practice of overcharging and questionable upfront "fees" before they would help a patient is very disturbing. They recommended a number of other dentists and we found a wonderful one. There are MANY other pediatric dentists in Lancaster that are honest and friendly. Keep looking....

I have been taking my daughter here for about 2 years and have been very pleased. They are very professional, timely and have super friendly and accommodating front desk staff.

We have been coming to LPDA for years for my two daughters. My nine year old saw Dr. Levicoff For the first time recently and I was very impressed. He was extremely kind to her and very engaged in everything she said. He never ignored her. Then he showed me her films and made sure he explained everything to me thoroughly. I am hoping we get him every time we are there.

As an adult who attended this place and who now has a child coming here I do not think there is much more to say. They do a really good job with the kids and making them feel comfortable. At the same time they simplify and inform the children of what is going so they are not surprised. The atmosphere is kept fun and relaxed. She likes the freebies and the tv to watch. They are currently under renovations and maybe a change in overall ownership. So some time will tell if it is change for the better.

The worst place ever I visit, my daughter has appointment there when I arrived they told me it was canceled because the doctor is not there. Please don't send your children there since the hospital doesn't value your time. The deserve 0 Star

This was our daughter's first dentist appointment and I am SO happy with how it went! Besides being behind on schedule, which seems typical for all offices nowadays, it was amazing. All staff were super friendly. The dentist wasn't as personable, but I imagine that may have been timing. Highly recommend!

The staff were very friendly and easy to schedule with for our new patient appointment. Online forms made check-in super fast. The girls were wonderful with my toddler in making her feel comfortable and explained everything before doing it. Their patience was very much appreciated. Dr. Al was gentle and welcoming. He answered all of my questions and discussed further treatments with me.

Dr Ross hasn't been at this practice for at least a year. He retired. Last visit we were told they had fill in dentists. Staff are always rude when checking in and treat you like a child

The good: We had wonderful experiences with all of the hygienists. They were great with my kids and made them feel comfortable while being at the dentist. The bad: We had a very disappointing experience with LDPA. My son was scheduled to have a painful cavity filled but unfortunately tested positive for covid right before his appointment. He completed the CDC recommended quarantine and tested negative after 10 days. During that time the pain continued and an abscess formed due to infection. Now rather than filling a cavity he was going to need his tooth extracted. According to LDPA protocol they would not see my son for an additional two weeks after his 10 day quarantine (they said it was their policy but I'm thinking it was more of a staffing issue). Communication with the office staff was difficult. An antibiotic was prescribed but would not last until his rescheduled appointment leaving my sons infection vulnerable to spreading. Their advice? "Rinse with salt water and go to the emergency room if it gets worse" We reached out to another local dentist and explained how the situation was being handled. This office saw us within an hour of speaking to us and extracted my sons tooth that same day. They said he was lucky the infection did not spread to his bloodstream. We were shocked that a pediatric dentist would jeopardize a child's health and leave them in discomfort for almost a month before for making time to see them.

The dental hygienist was kind and patient with my young daughter, but the male dentist (that we have never seen before) was not. He knew she was nervous and anxious because she was crying, and did nothing to calm her and was very surly. We won't be going back, this has been her dentist since her first visit when she was 2 or 3.

Today I went in for a (scheduled) ortho appointment. The folks at the desk had a very challenging time managing that system, and after quite a bit of time indicated that my son's appointment had (for no reason, and with no notice) been canceled. Very little effort to make it right, and let us know our only option was to come in (during school hours only, a problem because I'm a a teacher) more than a month later. Poor communication, service, and training.

My son, age 7, and daughter, almost 2, had there 6 month cleaning at LPDA and we had a wonderful experience. My son had to return to have an extraction and the staff was just as great for this procedure. I'm thankful that we have found LPDA. Shout out to the secretaries in the front office and their helpfulness when we first called to inquire about transferring from out of state! I can't remember exactly who I spoke with but she was very sweet!

We had a disappointing experience at this practice. At the outset I will say that the dental care has been fine, as far as I can tell. The staff is cheerful as well. Our negative experience concerned an inflexibility in the way that they interact with families. My 11-year old child was scheduled to have two teeth extracted and was nervous to the point of tears about this, never having had teeth pulled before. I wanted to accompany him for the procedure but was told that their policy only allows parents for children 10 years old or younger. I expressed my strong unease with this policy and asked again if I could accompany him, and the response was "no". No doctor has ever asked to treat my child without my presence before, and certainly I've never experienced a situation where a medical provider required my child to be without a parent or guardian. This seems highly irregular to me. Again, I will say that the staff was polite and cheerful, and the tech was clearly following orders. But, at the end of the day, it is policies, rather than people, that seems to matter most for LPDA. Being cheerful is not a substitute for actually building relationships with families. Disappointed.

Great experience! The dental hygienist and dentist were both phenomenal with my son who struggles immensely with going to the dentist. I am so grateful for how patient both of them were with him! I highly recommend!

Worst experience ever. I found this place online and setup an appointment to take my 6 yr. old to get an extraction, which they did not do, they charged my insurance and sent me an invoice for an additional $50.00 for telling me the tooth needed to be extracted - which I already knew - and for taking an x-ray. They gave me an appointment for 2 months later and when I arrived, they did not have my daughter's appointment on record - even though I have an email from them showing the date/time I showed up. They told me that the appointment was scheduled for the following week - as per their system - and told me I had to leave and come back on that day. I told them that I was unable to make that day, so they just proceeded to canceled it.

Kind and friendly staff from start to finish. They squeezed in my child for an appointment since her sister had one and I'd already taken off work. They were respectful and helpful, offering suggestions on how to keep my kids' teeth healthy. My kids are teenagers and they still enjoy visiting LPDA.

Everyone was so nice and incredibly sweet. My daughter has to get a filling and I was nervous how that'd go down but my daughter said she didn't even know. She's a very antsy little girl and the fact they were able to keep her calm and content was awesome! They're amazing and I'm impressed. So thankful I chose this plce!
