Lancaster Dental Associates is a general dental office that has been proudly serving Lancaster, Clarence, Depew, East Aurora, Marilla, Alden, Cheektowaga and all of Western New York since 1981. Our Dentists practice general dentistry for the entire family and specialize in providing personal, long-lasting solutions to meet each patient's individual needs.

The dentists in the practice are Dr. Kevin Flanigan, Dr. Richard Medico, Dr. Kevin Hrab and Dr. Carl Embury. Dentistry is an enjoyable art at our office. Dr. Kevin M. Flanigan started working as a dentist in 1996 and joined Lancaster Dental Associates in 1997, becoming a co-owner of the practice in 2002. He is an alumnus of Nichols High School in Buffalo and graduated from the University of Rochester in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology and a minor in Studio Arts. He received his degree as a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 1996 then completed a General Practice Residency program at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Buffalo in 1997. Dr. Flanigan has been honored with an award from the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry and also received the Teledyne Excellence in Prosthetics Award while attending University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. He continues to expand his patient treatment options with ongoing continuing education courses in Implant and Mini-implant placement, Soft Tissue Lasers in Dentistry, and Advanced Cerec CAD/CAM Training. This training allows him to treat patients effectively while incorporating the latest forms of Implant, Soft Tissue Laser and Cerec CAD/CAM technology for tooth restorations such as tooth colored onlays, crowns and veneers. In addition to general family dentistry, Dr. Flanigan takes pride in his work with patients who can benefit from cosmetic dentistry.

Professionally he is a member in good standing with the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association, the 8th District Dental Society, the Erie County Dental Society and the UB Dental Alumni Association. Dr. Flanigan grew up in the village of Lancaster and currently resides in the Lancaster community with his wife Mary and two children, Jack and Camryn. He is the youngest of seven children and is proud to have the opportunity to work with family, friends and new patients from the surrounding communities.

Dr. Richard D. Medico is a native of Long Island. He graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 2004. He completed a general practice residency program at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo New York, in June 2005. While at his residency he attended the international conference on oral cancer in Crete, Greece. The project involved using the most modern technology available to measure craniofacial implant integration. This was the first study of its kind.

Professionally Dr. Medico is in good standing with the American Dental Association, New York State Dental Association, Eighth District Dental Society, and U.B. Dental Alumni Association. He has completed advanced training in Laser Dentistry, Rotary Endodontics and CEREC restorations, and Invisalign. Dr. Medico lives in Amherst with his wife Christina and three sons, Anthony, Michael and Christian.

Dr. Kevin S. Hrab was born in Buffalo and grew up in the City of Tonawanda. He graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. In 1987 he graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, achieving an additional minor degree in fixed prosthodontics with his doctorate degree.

He then completed a residency program at Erie County Medical Center. In 1988 he purchased a solo dental practice in Buffalo, adding a second location in Williamsville in 1991. He then sold both offices in 2003. After some time off, he started his affiliation with Lancaster Dental Associates in 2004. He resides in East Amherst, is an avid bicyclist and hunter, and enjoys a multitude of outdoor activities.

Dr. Andrew P. Kowalski was born in Buffalo and grew up in Lancaster. He graduated from Canisius College in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology. In 2020, he graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. He then completed a two-year General Practice Residency Program at Erie County Medical Center.

Professionally he is a member of the American Dental Association, The New York State Dental Association, and the Eighth District Dental Society. He loves to travel and has spent time during his dental training providing care on volunteer trips to Mexico, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and various states within the US. Dr. Kowalski is a big Bills fan and currently lives in Buffalo with his fiance Sarah and his dog Benson..
