At Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic, potential is seen in the changing faces of our patients. Opportunities are imagined in the child whose newly enhanced smile is shared with one of our nurses. Possibilities are evidenced in the framed photos, side-by-side on a homes mantle, showing a baby with a craniofacial abnormality grown into a confident teen. Opportunities are heard when a teen in speech therapy produces a consonant hed never been able to form before.

Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic is proud to be a part of watching families capitalize on the potential they already see in their child. In our eighty-year history, we have established an entirely new method of team care: the model that is now embraced world-wide as the standard for cleft care.

Eighty years has been a great beginning, but craniofacial needs are Americas most common birth defect. We build educated care plans using outcome studies that weigh immediate and long-term results, allowing our patients to transform into the best versions of themselves. We help bring out the potential that mom and dad knew was there all along.

Your face is your window to the world. Its the first thing we see when we meet each other. Founded by H. K. Cooper, Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic has always embraced the groundbreaking philosophy of bringing all the necessary specialists together as a single team.

Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic has been a leader in the field for over 80 years, and we still have our gaze set firmly on the future. We continue to make important contributions to this field of knowledge.

Part of the mission of LCPC is to conduct research into the causes and treatment outcomes of cleft lip and palate. We have been the recipients of five major grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) since our inception.

Founded in 1938, the Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic pioneered the comprehensive treatment of cleft lip, cleft palate and other craniofacial anomalies. The Clinic was the worlds first medical center dedicated exclusively to cleft treatment, and LCPC developed the team approach to treatment that is now the standard of care worldwide.

We are an American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association (ACPA) approved team. ACPA-approved teams are comprised of experienced and qualified professionals from medical, surgical, dental, and allied health disciplines working in an interdisciplinary and coordinated system. The purpose and goal of teams is to ensure that care is provided in a coordinated and consistent manner with the proper sequencing of evaluations and treatments within the framework of the patients overall developmental, medical, and psychological needs.

Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic - General dentist in Lancaster, PA

Established in 1938, the nonprofit Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic is the oldest clinic in the world devoted to the comprehensive care of children born with cleft lips and palates and other craniofacial anomalies regardless of their ability to pay. It was founded by orthodontist Dr. Herbert K. Cooper on the first floor of his home at 24 N. Lime Street. At that time, the clinic offered out-of-town cleft patients a 6-week residency program. Several cleft patients stayed in apartments, supervised by a house mother, and received speech therapy, prosthesis fabrication, and social education.

For over 80 years we have provided for the special healthcare needs of Pennsylvanias infants and children who may be uninsured, under-insured or otherwise under-served. Today, we are the only facility in the United States to offer comprehensive cleft care outside the auspices of a major hospital system.

Dr Prada is spectacular! My family has been going to the office for more than 8 years and we plan on going until the kids get too old. My one child has some special needs and they have always tried to accommodate them as much as possible. We miss Lexi being the hygienist but are so glad to say "hi" to her at almost every appointment. The hygienists were great with my little kids, and the front staff is knowledgeable and kind. Would recommend 100%!

Audiologist Rachel S. Was so kind and helpful to me and a great person to interact with. For all children and teens living with CAPD she is a great resource! So glad that we found this place. It is just a little confusing for us to find the place from in being located in the city but overall amazing place.

The staff here is extremely friendly. They take care about those with whom they are working. When we first came, we got a personalized this from the director, now retired. If was very obvious in talking to him that not only he, but all those who with there, have a huge heart for these kids. They also just completed a huge renovation. Place looks great! Highly modernized

I was initially very happy with LCPC and the treatment of my daughter for her cleft palate. Over the last 2 years, things have gone down hill. I know COVID played a part in this, but it seems they just couldn't keep up. My daughter is supposed to be seen yearly for her team meeting (all providers). I haven't had a team meeting for my daughter in about 2 years due to them needing to "reschedule", which they never called back to reschedule. I've had LCPC cancel dental cleanings and cavity work twice already and to reschedule, it's months of waiting for an appointment. Then when we do have an appointment, it seems they are overbooked and there is lots of waiting after the hygienist is done, waiting for the dentist to come in. It's come to the point where I don't feel valued as a customer anymore and it's just a factory, trying to get in and out. I'm sorry to say that I will be changing dentists.

Started taking my son here at birth due to a cleft palate and hair lip. They are the best. I travel over two hours to get there. We started going elsewhere due to the travel but after four years returned. The staff is great, a d unless I tell you my son had the birth defect you would never know. Results are incredible!

I called for general info and was attended by the rudest individual EVER. ALICE has no business working in healthcare much less a receptionist. When I asked her why she was being so rude after she cut me off she proceeded to hang up on me. The WORST!
