Dr. Atchley's education includes a B.S. Degree in Biology from Birmingham Southern College (1986), a M.A. Degree in Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (1989) and a Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry (1994).

Following graduation from dental school, Dr. Atchley practiced in Orlando, Florida for two years and then returned to practice in the Phenix City, Smith's Station area. In addition to her private practice, Dr. Atchley provides dental care for patients at the Auburn City Schools.

Passionate about continual learning, Dr. Atchley pursues opportunities for ongoing education and training through her professional memberships in the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and Alabama Dental Association. She has completed advanced training at the world renowned Pankey Institute, and has achieved certification in Straight Wire Orthodontics and Botox facial esthetics.

Dr. Atchley has completed over 1000 hours of continuing education coursework, and is pursuing Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry, an award of recognition from her peers for professional education and experience in all disciplines of dentistry.

Dr. Atchley and her husband, Kelly, have been married for 27 years. They have two children: John Kelly, a Samford University grad and a recent Auburn graduate is married to April who is also a Samford grad and a very talented artist. Cassie is a very active senior at Auburn pursuing a degree in biosystems engineering. Dr. Atchley is active in her church and teaches Sunday school. She loves traveling, the outdoors, hanging out with her family and is about to become a grandmother!

'Dentistry chose me! As a full-time cancer researcher, part-time graduate student at UAB, I participated in a tooth brush study with the dean of the University of Alabama School of Dentistry. (I was paid to brush my teeth!) The dean encouraged me to apply to dental school. I did and was accepted and have been practicing for over 25years.

Paige joined our practice in 2012 as Office Manager. Her energetic smile and warm sense of fun are a big part of the relaxed, laid-back setting we strive to create for our patients. Away from the office, Paige enjoys healthy eating (her friends and family call her the 'food cop'), as well as running and spending time with her husband and grown son, along with a dachshund named Chilidog.

Carrie, Registered Dental Hygienist 'Dentistry has come a long way there are many options for the patient now to ensure their comfort. We know that dental fear is real, so we always work closely with patients that are nervous about seeing the dentist to support them through each step, going at their pace and explaining what to expect. We have seen many patients overcome these fears with this approach, which means a lot to us too!

As a Dental Hygienist, Kristy educates our patients on their oral health and helps them understand how to prevent dental problems. Kristy originally entered dentistry in 2006, she joined our practice in 2013. Her optimism and enthusiasm for dentistry helps patients that are feeling overwhelmed see the possibilities in their smile! Kristy enjoys spending time with her family and friends, being outdoors, swimming, fishing, biking and workingout.

Karen, Registered Dental Hygienist 'With more evidence revealing the correlation of oral health with overall cardiovascular health, I feel that the services we provide are vital. I once had a patient report back to me after I had encouraged him to get a chronic infection source treated. He said that he felt so much better overall and hadn 't realized how badly it had caused him to feel. Knowing that we are contributing to our patients ' health and wellbeing is veryinspiring!

Karen has been a member of the dental profession since 1979, she originally trained as a Dental Assistant and later attained licensure as a Dental Hygienist. Her passion for health and doing everything she can for her patients is very motivating for her patients and her team. Karen joined our practice in 2014. Away from the office, she loves spending time with her grandchildren, game nights, walking, digital scrapbooking, movies and laughter with friends andfamily.

Amber, Dental Assistant 'Dental health is so important to each person 's overall health; we all love helping our patients get established with a good dental hygiene program. We believe in teaching our patients about the importance of regular dental visits, staying on track helps keep your smile healthy, and, it makes it a lot easier to take care of your teeth at home too.

Everyone on Dr. Atchley 's dental team is focused on making our patients completely comfortable. We have TVs in all of our treatment rooms, sometimes just watching your favorite channel can help you feel at home or entertain a child that is seeing the dentist for the first time.'

Amber has nearly 20 years' experience as a Dental Assistant. Her desire to learn expands outside of dentistry, she also holds a certificate as a paralegal. She is incredibly helpful, we all know that we can count on an always-positive approach, and her patients trust her instantly as a result. Amber's favorite family activities include fishing, bowling and watching movies.
