Dr. Lamb was born in Omaha, Nebraska in April of 1969 to George and Jan Lamb. Jan worked as an accountant while George attended Creighton Law School. After his father graduated from law school, Dr. Lambs family moved back to New Mexico, where many of Dr. Lambs extended family members still reside. After Dr. Lambs father passed away at a young age, his mother Jan returned to graduate school and then moved to Canyon in 1975 to teach accounting at West Texas State University.

As young children, Dr. Lamb and his sister Laurie enjoyed playing in the halls of West Texas and swimming almost every day. At the time, they could not fully appreciate how hard their mother worked as a professor and a single mother, often grading papers and preparing lessons late into the night. An energetic kid, Dr. Lamb enjoyed building forts, playing soccer and teasing just about everyone. His mother would tell him to run around a tree to wear off energy, but it rarely worked.

As a teenager, Dr. Lamb played saxophone in the school band, life guarded at the Canyon pool during his summers and enjoyed playing on the varsity tennis team at Canyon High School. After graduating from Canyon High School in 1987, Dr. Lamb attended the University of Texas in Austin for one year before transferring to West Texas State University, where he graduated with honors in 1993.

Dr. Lamb was excited to attend Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, where his uncle and mentor Dr. Brian Zarikta had graduated 20 years prior. With the aid of dental student loans and a small academic scholarship, Dr. Lamb also worked several jobs to support himself during dental school, including working as a tennis instructor and in the dental lab on weeknights and as a weekend lab assistant in Baylor Hospitals microbiology department.

After graduating from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1997, Dr. Lamb returned home and started a small office on Georgia Street, where he also met his wife Julie, who worked at a neighboring dental office. With the help of his excellent staff and referrals from patients, Dr. Lambs practice grew and led to the construction of his current office. Dr. Lamb enjoys the many wonderful relationships he has formed with patients and their families during his years of practice.

Dr. Lamb and his wife Julie stay busy with their five children;Charlotte, George, Eleanor,Juliette and James. As a family, they enjoy taking walks, playing tennis, gardening and traveling as much as is possible with small children!

At Lamb Dental, we take pride in providing a welcoming, friendly environment for every patient. We all attribute much of the practices success to our communication philosophy: to build lasting trust by sharing our dental knowledge and experience so patients understand their treatment options and alternatives. Definitely recommend Lamb Dental they have a very friendly staff. Dr. Lamb helped me not feel so nervous about my tooth extraction and made sure I wasn't in pain.

They gave me two shots before my root canal. I kept telling the dentist that my mouth wasn't numb. It took her drilling into my tooth and me wincing in pain to realize I wasn't kidding. It took 5 shots total for her to actually numb my right side. Then my tooth ended up getting infected from the procedure after only two days. I had to be prescribed an antibiotic which I then developed a yeast infection from since I'm pregnant. They also waited to tell me the cost until after they had already started the procedure. They told me they had personally called my insurance and had confirmed my insurance would cover $1800 of the $2200 bill as long as I paid up front. They asked me if I wanted to proceed with treatment and I was like "well you kind of already started." Come to find out later, they misquoted me on what my insurance confirmed they would cover by over $1000. I understand a few hundred dollars as a difference but over $1000? Then they didn't submit the claim correctly so we waited months to get any type of reimbursement in. My husband works for a pediatric dentistry and we will not be recommending them anymore.

Always pleased with Dr. Lamb. He will give you options, pros and cons, and help you decide the best course of action - all while remembering that dental work is expensive and helping you factor that into your treatment plan.

I have been going to Lamb Dental since I moved to Amarillo. Very reasonable prices, lower than the chain dental organizations. Staff are very professional and friendly whether in person or on the phone. I highly recommend!

So incredibly impressed by lamb dental! Dr Carthel did such a great job and treated me with kindness, the whole office was great! But the best part is this is the first dentist office where I truly felt like they listened to me and what I wanted. Thank you!

I do not recommend Dr. Randall Lamb for cosmetic dentistry. I was a patient here, and talked with Dr. Lamb over several of my visits about my husbands teeth and what he could do to fix them up. My husband grew up on well water and had discoloration. I made an apt for my husband NOT for full surface bonding but to fix imperfections that did not match fillings his previous dentist had done. This is what was coded through insurance and what was approved. When my husband got to the apt Dr. Lamb told him he wasn't sure it would look right and went ahead and did the bonding over the full surface of his front two teeth without clarifying the process. My husband was not prepared to see this drastic of a difference when he looked in the mirror. He saw two perfect front teeth next to the rest of his imperfect teeth. Dr. Lamb stopped there and told him to think about it and come back. When I called to discuss going forward with 4 more of his top teeth even though that was not the original plan, they let me know it would be $2,000 to complete the job. Dr. Lamb did 2 teeth, but my husband was approved by insurance for 3 teeth, but because Dr. Lamb made the choice to bond the entire surface of the front two teeth and not the third, he was going to charge us full price and not let us use insurance for the 3rd tooth. The point in all of this is, my husband was never going in there for full bonding on his teeth, only partial spots that would be covered by insurance. Dr. Lamb gave him two fully surfaced bonded front teeth despite what was approved by insurance and then AFTER the fact let us know to finish the job was going to be $2,000. We were NEVER quoted this before. We had nothing in writing and no conversation either. We were pigeon holed. Dr. Lamb made the choice to bond the entire two teeth and then said the only way he'd finish it was if we'd pay $2,000. Again we had ZERO idea that was coming. We were blindsided. They were careless and would not budge with anything. They also could not get us in to complete the job for 3 weeks. So for 3 weeks my husband was supposed to walk around with noticeably unfinished teeth. The situation would have been completely different if Dr. lamb would have said from the beginning he was strictly only going to do full surface bonding AND PROVIDED A QUOTE IN WRITING to complete the job. I called the situation shady to the office manager and was sent away from their practice after that. They would not complete the rest of the job. They were careless, heartless, unaccommodating, and dishonest. It was a nightmare.

Dr. Lamb and his staff are simply the best! My family and I have been patients of Dr. Lamb for many years now and we are always well cared for in both preventive and necessary treatments. Every time I've had to had work done (cleanings, fillings, crowns, etc), Randall has been upfront with the procedures and costs. Plus, he ALWAYS recommends the best approach to how to solve any problem. For example, I was having trouble with a tooth of mine and I suggested we just put a crown on it. Rather than agreeing with me and making a lot more money, he suggested we first try a different (less expensive) approach. And sure enough, it worked! Imagine that, a doctor recommending a CHEAPER treatment! This just goes to show you he really does care about how to best help his patients. Not to mention, he is skillful, knowledgeable, and has great bedside manners. I wish I could give 10 stars, because that's what he deserves!

I had an employee that was experiencing a severe toothache. Due to COVID-19, her dentist's office furloughed all their employees and wasn't seeing patients at all. She was having trouble finding a dentist that would see her without being an established patient. I called Dr. Lamb's office and they called me back the the next day. They made an appointment and took care of my employee's toothache the same day! Thank you Lamb Dental for your compassion and professionalism! Also my son and I have been patients for years. They always do a great job for us!

Doctor Lamb has been wonderful. He has went above and beyond to make sure my teeth are healthy and that I enjoy smiling. I thought I would need a cap on a tooth and he told me my tooth would be fine with the current filling, instead of encouraging me to spend extra money on unnecessary dental work. He is a man of integrity and actually cares about the patient, not his pocket book. He is a great guy. Dr. Carthel is also very nice. She does a great job and is super welcoming. I usually like to stick with a provider I already know, but she is amazing as well and I am thankful to have two dentists that do great work. The staff is very friendly as well. This is just an all around great office.
