Dr. Dafne Ellis is an orthodontist living and practicing in the community of Lakewood. A military spouse, she and her husband permanently relocated from Jacksonville, FL in order to start a new life, a new family, and cultivate their love for adventure, the outdoors and travel. They are excited to be serving the people of Colorado for many years to come.
A native of San Juan, Argentina, Dr. Ellis developed a passion to become a dental professional at a very early age, drawing inspiration from her own orthodontist. She attended the University of Cordoba in Argentina before matriculating to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 2001, graduating summa cum laude with a Health Professions degree. She was accepted to the University of Florida in 2005, and completed dental training at the UF College of Dentistry, graduating at the top of her class in 2009. She immediately began a three-year orthodontic residency at the University of Florida, where she was awarded a Master of Science degree after completing a thesis focusing on patients with cleft lip.
Dr. Ellis recently acquired ownership of Lakewood Orthodontics, which has provided patients in Lakewood exemplary orthodontic care for over 40 years, under the skillful direction of founder Dr. Jack Konegni.
In her free time, Dr. Ellis enjoys some of the best activities Colorado has to offer, including cycling, snowboarding, running and travel. Her family and her patients are her number-one priority. She is enthusiastic about giving back to her new community; providing beautiful smiles that both she and her patients can be proud of!

Our staff is uniquely trained and highly skilled, and we strive to provide energetic and fun-loving service to each patient. Our staff consists of team members with specialized training and multiple certifications, and each one of our team members has years of experience in treating patients with the highest level of care. We strive to stay abreast of the very latest in technology and advances by regularly attending continuing education courses and seminars.
Terri Steele Treatment/Financial Coordinator -- I have been with Lakewood Orthodontics for ten years, but I come with over 20 years of dental experience. While I enjoy my job as Treatment & Financial Coordinator; what I enjoy most is the many relationships I have with my patients and parents! When not working you will find me golfing or traveling with my husband, or just plain enjoying my family; which include a Golden Retriever, two Mini-Dachshunds and three very spoiled grandkids!
Brenda Romero Orthodontic Assistant -- I have been in the orthodontic field for over 15 years. I love the day to day excitement and fun my work brings. I have a great husband, two grown children and a grandson that keeps me running. I enjoy going to the mountains, biking, Broncos, and being around family!
Natalie Wilson Orthodontic Assistant -- I have been at Lakewood Orthodontics since starting in the field in 2001. I feel blessed to have this career and enjoy it very much. I am a Colorado native and grew up on the western slope. I have a wonderful husband, and we enjoy photography and hiking together. A lot of our time in the mountains is also spent with family. I have two grown children who are both attending college.
At our office, we ensure that patients receive the most advanced orthodontic care. Our office staff regularly attends seminars and conferences devoted to new treatments, new technologies and excellent patient care practices. With patient care as our top priority, this is our commitment to you.
Our office is committed to helping you maximize your insurance benefits. Because insurance policies vary, we can only estimate your coverage in good faith but cannot guarantee coverage due to the complexities of insurance contracts. Please inform us of any changes to your insurance coverage.
Your estimated patient portion must be paid at the time of service. As a service to our patients, we will bill insurance companies for services. If claims are not paid within 60 days, you are responsible for the balance. If you have any questions, our courteous staff is always available to answer them.

I am so happy that I used Dr. Ellis for my orthodontia process. I was worried when my dentist told me I had short roots and would be a higher risk case. I went to several orthodontists to get quotes and Dr. Ellis made me feel so comfortable from start to finish. She took a lot of time to explain the treatment and the best options for me. She even showed me results of other patients with similar cases as mine. & best of all she had my treatment done by my wedding date! Everyone in this office was so lovely to work with. So organized and on top of everything. Highly recommend working with them!

Can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Ellis and the staff at Lakewood Orthodontics. After meeting with Dr. Ellis I decided on the Invisalign treatment plan and it has been 100% worth it. I went into it thinking my teeth would get straightened, but Dr. Ellis felt so much more could be done with my bite and widening of my upper and lower dental arch. I love my smile more today than I ever have! The treatment and care at this office is top notch. I highly recommend them!

The staff are friendly and great with kids! Both of my kids' teeth look great! My daughter got her braces off today and she looks fantastic! Dr Ellis did for my daughter exactly what she said...straightened her teeth and widened he jaw to compliment her beauty. We couldn't be happier!

I am almost finished with my teeth aligners and I have only good things to say about Lakewood Orthodontics and Dr. Ellis. I came in with a major bite issue and after hearing from several dentists that the only solution was jaw surgery, Dr. Ellis gave me the option to try clear aligners. She was and is a great communicator about what was possible and I am happy to say that my bite is totally fixed and my teeth look amazing. Thanks to her and everyone in the office for making my smile beautiful!

Dr. Ellis treated my son with metal braces. His teeth look beautiful and Dr. Ellis is a true perfectionist who wants the absolute best result for each and every patient. He looks forward to coming because each and every person is so gentle and friendly . He feels good each time he comes because they are so encouraging about his progress. The price was nearly identical to all other estimates so we ultimately went with the practice we felt best about. No regrets here!

Dr Ellis has been great! I am 50 and was hesitant to get braces so late in life. Dr. Ellis provided me with all the facts and possible concerns that could come up during the 18 - 20 month procedure. I actually started with Invisalign the week Colorado shut down for March Covid restrictions. Despite the challenges of the pandemic everyone at Lakewood Orthodontics has been great! Health and safety of everyone has been their top priority. I am 10 months in and everything is going great!
