Horrible service. Showed up for the appointment date and time I was given over the phone only to be told my appointment was actually a week later at a different time. Dentist did not want to accommodate seeing me even though I was a new patient. I should've known because when I called to check my appointment date and time because they never sent me a confirmation, they couldn't find me, not to mention it took me a few tries to reach them. Whoever is handling scheduling at this place needs to be replaced. Changed provider real quick. Do yourself a favor and just go with a different provider.

Came here on recommendation from parents. I had horrible tooth pain from a broken tooth, exposed nerve. They were able to refer me to a specialist for a root canal as their own specialist was away. After getting my root canal, I phoned back to schedule my crown. I was met with an obstinate receptionist who said they could not schedule my crown until the second root canal. I told her you don't understand, I only need the one crown right now, that's all I can afford. All I want right now is the crown done. She then told me again, nothing could be scheduled until the specialist had finished both root canals(I had a second damaged tooth next to the other, but I couldn't afford to deal with it all at once unfortunately.) I was then informed after getting the second root canal, that my insurance was used up and Lakewood Modern would need me to pay cash. I was told by them that payments could be made, as they had made those kinds of arrangements with both of my parents. When I called back for an explanation the receptionist told me it was really my choice, that I didn't have to get the second root canal done, but payments were acceptable so we scheduled my crowns. The day of the appointment they had then told me that they don't do payments anymore. I said all right, well theres that then. But then one of their receptionists said I could try to apply for credit. I said no, I wouldn't qualify for that. "Just do it anyway," the receptionist said, "You never know." Thankfully the embarrassment of being declined for credit was limited to the receptionist and the employees near the desk.

Dr.Thai has been my dentist for over 15 yrs and wouldn't have anyone else work in my mouth. She is very experienced and gentle. She cares about her patients as family. Her Staff is very friendly and polite. I highly recommend Lakewood Modern Dentistry.

If you are a parent you should know that they do NOT allow parents to accompany children in the back for their exam or treatment. (Many children are already nervous at the dentist, separating them from parents just makes them feel worse!) I was told the rule is for privacy reasons but a simple solution would be to use curtains or dividers rather than sending a child alone to be around other adult patients they don't know!
