Native Houstonian and board-certified pediatric dentist, Davette Johnson-Harris, DDS, leads the team at Lakewood Kids Dentistry in Houston. She specializes in providing expert dental care to children of all ages, including very young infants and kids with special needs and behavioral issues.
Dr. Johnson-Harris earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) at the University of Nebraska and completed additional training in pediatric dentistry at the University of Texas in Houston. Dr. Johnson-Harris also completed pediatric residency training, earning a certificate and masters degree in pediatric dentistry while completing extra coursework and research projects.
Dr. Johnson-Harris entered private practice in 2009 and serves as a diplomat to the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. At Lakewood Kids Dentistry, Dr. Johnson-Harris takes a preventive approach to dental care, teaching her young patients how to take care of their teeth. Her friendly and compassionate nature helps her young patients feel confident under her care.
Dr. Johnson-Harris is actively involved in her community, working to ensure that underserved children of Northwest Houston have access to the services and resources they need. One of her projects is a literacy program to provide children with the skills they need to thrive and achieve their potential.
When she isnt working or contributing to the community, Dr. Johnson-Harris loves spending time with her husband Marcus and daughter Grace. Dr. Johnson-Harris and her husband are also expecting a son, Marc-David.
Outside of family time, Dr. Johnson-Harris enjoys traveling, crafting, and dancing to Beyonce. She welcomes any family seeking quality pediatric dentistry in the Houston area to Lakewood Kids Dentistry.

I highly recommend Dr. Johnson!! Both my daughters had spectacular appointments with her. One of my daughters is terrified of dental work! Just mentioning a dentist would send her into tears. Dr. Johnson filled four cavities and there were absolutely no tears. She is kind and patient. She even sang to my daughter to calm her fears!

Dr Johnson is an amazing dentist!! She has so much patience with my kiddos and is really good about explaining the process throughout. The front staff is also super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend to anyone who needs a great pediatric dentist!

They was THE BEST with my boys. I was so amazed how they was able to clean their teeth whenever other dentist struggled. IM NEVER LEAVING THIS OFFICE!! Dr.Johnson-Harris is the best.

I was sent to spend more money somewhere else that could not fix my child's dental issues. I drove all the way to this new place only to be told they would not be able to fix my child's issues. Not only this they tried to charge my child for an adult (me). It was so depressing because, I thought they were trying to reduce cost as she said. I ended up spending more.

We LOVE Lakewood Kids Dentistry. My youngest has some fears around the dentist and Lakewood techs and Dr Johnson are so kind and take their time to make her comfortable. We have been for cleanings as well as an extraction and would recommend Lakewood Kids Dentistry to anyone!!!!!!

Awesome experience with Dr. Johnson. Great bedside manner, patient and kind with kids, very understanding and explains the process while making sure your child is at ease. The staff is so pleasant and they really care and work with you to make your experience a great one. Great everything!

3rd dental office we've been to in the last year. The ONLY one who has actually cleaned my daughters teeth and do work.she was very patient and understanding That we have had a bad experience before. I can say I saw many patients come in and out happy while we were there. We'll definitely be back!

Thank you all the staffs for helping my daughter. I have being seeking a good dental place which could help children with special needs for a while and I'm glad that I found this place. Dr Johnson was beyond amazing! Read great reviews before we scheduled our appt with our oldest. Was going to be a longer drive to get to her office but way worth the drive! Dr Johnson was great around our daughter and sat by her and explained everything before she did anything. She included her while she cleaned her teeth, and made our daughter super comfortable and felt safe! Explained everything in detail about what dental work needed to be done and gave us the best options available. Will be bringing the rest of our kids to her, and telling our family to bring their kids as well.
