Dr. Shaun Sigurdson graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. He then completed dental school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. After receiving his DDS, he moved to Dallas and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the Baylor College of Dentistry. After residency, he was selected for a Fellowship in advanced restorative, esthetic and implant dentistry while serving as a full-time faculty member in Baylors Advanced General Dentistry clinic. Dr. Sigurdson particularly enjoys cosmetic dentistry, complex restorative treatments, full-mouth rehabilitation and dental implant surgery.
Dr. Sigurdson was born in Great Yarmouth, England, and grew up in Anchorage, Alaska, before moving to Texas at age 7. Dr. Sigurdson has embraced Texas as his home, as he has lived in Dallas, Houston, Austin and San Antonio. Outside of the office, Dr. Sigurdson likes to spend his time going to concerts with his wife Cristina, weight training, hunting, attending sporting events, and walking his dog Jacks at White Rock Lake.
Dr. Sigurdsons interest in the field of dentistry extends beyond his day to day practice. He frequently attends continuing education courses focusing on cosmetics, endodontics and implantology. Dr. Sigurdson is also a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, Dallas County Dental Society, Texas Dental Association and the American Dental Association.
Dr. Mihir Patel received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas, where he graduated in 2015, on the Deans Cumulative Honor List. He then earned his Advanced Education in General Dentistry certificate in 2016, from Baylor College of Dentistry. While in dental school he was a member of the Odontological Honor Society. Prior to dental school, he attended Texas A&M University as a biology major, graduating magna cum laude in 2011.
Dr. Patel was born in London, England, before moving to Garland, Texas, at the age of 1 where he grew up before moving to Dallas to be close to his practice. He has practiced in the Dallas area since 2015.
His interest in dentistry began during childhood after chipping half of his front tooth off during a biking accident. Dr. Patel was impressed that the dentist was able to completely repair his tooth, and says, I was so amazed how dentistry could enhance someones smile and give them their confidence back. As a dentist he is committed to providing excellent, conservative, evidence-based dentistry for his patients to help them achieve a healthy mouth and smile.
Dr. Patels commitment to the field of dentistry extends beyond the office. In addition to extensive volunteer service with various organizations, he is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Texas Dental Association, the Dallas County Dental Society and the Dallas Study Club, an affiliate of the Seattle Study Club. Dr. Patel focuses his continuing education in aesthetics, surgical and restorative implants and endodontics.
Dr. Patel married his high school sweetheart, Ankita. Together they have a Maltese poodle dog named Peanut. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, and doing DIY and home renovation projects around the house.

Ellie graduated with an associate of applied science degree from the Indian Hills Community College dental hygiene program. She joined Lakewood Dental Group in October 2021. At our practice, she enjoys working alongside knowledgeable and caring doctors that provide excellent treatment for each of their patients, and she loves getting to know each and every patient and building relationships along the way. Ellie contributes to our practices success by striving to help patients feel relaxed and comfortable while also providing them with a gentle yet thorough cleaning. She prioritizes educating patients about their dental hygiene to help ensure each patient achieves their overall goal of having a healthy, beautiful smile.
Ellie is originally from southeast Iowa, where her family still lives. She loves to visit her family and to have them visit her in Texas. Ellie spent the last year living in St. Louis, Missouri, before coming to Texas, and she loves exploring Dallas and all it has to offer. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors, golfing, boating, going to concerts, watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball and, of course, spending time with her dog, Norman.

Lakewood Dental Group is the best. My previous dentist retired and I dreaded finding a new one. Then, I found Dr. Patel and his staff at Lakewood Dental Group. They are professional, honest, knowledgable, provide EXCELLENT CARE, and do not do the "sales thing" by pushing services and products that are not needed. This office is truly all about the dental care. It is a very comfortable environment. From the moment you call, to the exam, services, and follow up. Everyone was kind and professional. The dentist was conservative in his treatment plan. I expected it to be much more expensive than it was. I've never had a more thorough exam. The dentist explained everything I needed thoroughly. I'm grateful l that I found this practice.

I've been a patient at Lakewood Dental for about 1.5 yrs now and have gotten great service every time I've visited. The initial new patient exam is longer than at any other dentist I've been to but also the most thorough. Dr. Sigurdson explains everything (even normal aspects of the exam) and has great bedside manner. Also, the practice was able to get me in for an urgent visit (tooth pain) on short notice - that really impressed me!

Incredible first experience here! Dr. Suiggurdson gave me insight on my teeth and their structure that I had never understood before. He keeps his patients in the loop, spends time discussing options and makes your visit well worth it! Highly recommend making this your long term dentist!
