Orthodontics provides a great opportunity to get to know each and every patient and family. I feel like we are all going through the process together, almost like a team sport, with the championship being a beautiful smile. It is a great bonding experience.

I began my education after high school at the University of Washington, and obtained a Bachelor of Sciencein chemical engineering and in pulp and paper science. I went on to Auburn University at Montgomery to obtain my masters in business administration.

Following that,I attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham for my Doctorate of Dental Medicine and the Medical College of Georgia for advanced education in general dentistry. Finally, I received my Master of Science in orthodontics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. This means that after dental school, I attended a three-year orthodontic residency program to become an orthodontic specialist.

Though 20 hours of continuing education credits are required every year for our license, I take many more than that in order to stay current with the scientific and technological changes occurring in dentistry and orthodontics. This creates a mutual benefit between our patients and staff by allowing us to utilize the latest technology for the most efficient treatment and optimal smile results.

One of my passions is to help other people do well and to resolve issues.From my time working as a manager and chemical engineer for 12 years in a local paper mill to class president in dental school, to chief resident in my orthodontic residency to the presentin orthodontic private practice, my skill set has evolved into being able to gather information, identify issues, and come up with a solution that is beneficial to all.As an elder in our local church, Ive learned to be compassionate and helpful wherever I can.

I have also been on the landscaping and maintenance boards and crew at our local church. It is fun to work on projects and watch our goals become realities. We sponsor many local groups and charities to enable them to help others as well. Being active in the community is a great opportunity to work together as a team to achieve excellent results.

I started working for Lakeview Orthodontics in 1991. I love all of my work and am most satisfied when I know that people are confident in my abilites. I want our patients to know that they can depend on me to handle their accounts accurately. I know that Dr. Schmidtke cares about our patients and wants them to have an enoyable experience.

I started working in the dental field in 2016 and joined Lakeview Orthodontics in 2017. I love getting to work with all of the new and observation patients that are starting orthodontic treatment and are excited to get a big beautiful smile.

In April 2018, I married my high-school sweetheart Taylor. During our free time, we enjoy spending time with our family and friends (our niece Rynlie is our world!) , playing with our threefur babies, spending time outdoors, watching Alabama football, and traveling.

I have always wanted to work in a dental office. The Dr and the rest of the team are great to work with. I have and will continue to learn from them every day. I love to work in this amazing environment. All of the coworkers dont hesitate to help with any questions I have.

I am from Albertville, Alabama. I have a daughter named Juliet and she is almost two years old. Im engagedto a great guy! We have been together for three years. I love to work out to release some stress. Family is the most important thing to me.

My favorite part about my job is that it has a positive impact on the lives of our patients. During my free time, I enjoy spending time with family, friends, and my dog Tucker. On January 17th I got engaged to my high school sweetheart Seth, and we are getting married in September.

I started working in the dental field in 2001 and joined Lakeview Orthodontics in 2019. Since starting in March of 2001, I have been a clinical manager, assistant, financial coordinator, and front desk receptionist. I am a certified orthodontic assistant by the AAO. In the orthodontic field there is something to learn everyday, and no two patients are the same. I enjoy being part of making someone smile as their confidence grows throughout their orthodontic treatment.

I have been married to my bestfriend Jeremy for almost 15 years. We have three awesome kids between us. Our oldest son, Jayme now serves our beautiful country in the Army as an Aviation Mechanic, and he is also married with two children. We have a thirteen year old daughter, Kinslea. She enjoys cheering and singing for her school. Our littlest, Bentley is our silly eight year old that loves to hunt and fish. We as a family love to spend our time together either hunting, fishing, hiking, or just at home watching movies or playing games.

I am a certified orthodontic assistant, having worked in the dental field since 1999 and here at Lakeview Orthodontics since 2017. I love that my job allows me to work one-on-one with patients and gives me a chance to get to know them. I would definitely consider myself a people person! Being a part of Lakeview Orthodontics is like working with family!

I am married and we have three children, two dogs, three cats, and chickens. I love to paint and do crafts. We live about five minutes from Smith Lake Park and really enjoy kayaking with our friends and family. I also love to work in my yard planting flowers.

Patient sucked her thumb as a young child. She started treatment at age 13. She had braces and a special appliance called a crib to retrain the tongue, for 28 months. Now she can bite the lettuce out of a sandwich.

This adult patient, age 25, required braces and jaw surgery to correct his severe overbite, with treatment taking two years. His problem could have been corrected without surgery if he had been treated before he was a teenager.

This patient 's lateral incisors were congenitally missing. She had braces for 20 months to move the teeth into their correct positions, then the missing teeth were replaced with bonded 'Maryland' bridges.

Patient's underbite was causing her jaw joint discomfort and excessive wear patterns on her teeth. After about 30 months of treatment starting at age 32, she now finds smiling and chewing much easier.

At age ten, patient had a big overjet with the top teeth protruding beyond the bottom. She had two phases of treatment. The first helped her jaws to grow more harmoniously and the second aligned her teeth and bite. At age 13, she was proudly displaying her new smile.

Sometimes braces are not needed to get noticeable improvements in tooth alignment. This patient was first seen at age seven for crowding of the lower permanent teeth. A procedure was performed to reduce the width of the adjacent baby teeth and the permanent incisors aligned on their own in nine months.

Patient's parents were concerned about both aesthetics and the health of the erupting permanent teeth when they brought him to the orthodontist at age eight. The lower front teeth were crowded and touching the palate, and the upper front teeth were extremely displaced from their normal positions. After 12 months of Phase-One treatment with an expander and partial braces, patient's appearance and dental function were vastly improved.
