Dr. Brett Matteson completed his bachelors degree in biology at La Sierra University before attending the Loma Linda School of Dentistry. He completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2006 and in 2010 completed his Advanced Education in Prosthodontics certification through the U.S. Army program at Fort Gordon. One year after the completion of his training as a prosthodontist, Dr. Matteson became board-certified, a status which he has maintained to this day. Dr. Matteson regularly attends continuing education courses, including an annual hands-on course as well as several courses through study clubs. He also teaches three to four continuing education courses each year.
As a dentist, he is committed to improving the quality of dentistry in the Coeur dAlene area. As the first prosthodontic specialist in the area, his additional training enables him to provide total care to each of his patients.
Dr. Matteson has practiced in the Coeur dAlene area since 2017. He is a member of several dental organizations, including the American Dental Association. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodonticsand a Fellow in the American Academy of Prosthodontics. He is also an Eagle Scout, received several awards while in dental school, and also received five Army commendation medals during his military service.

I don't get any dental work done here but I work for a dental lab that works with Dr. Matteson and his team. The front desk ladies are extremely sweet and always make my work day better when I deliver to them!

The office is extremely friendly. Flexible scheduling and take good care to those of us that are sensitive to mouth pain. I recently had two caps put in and Dr Brett was very meticulous in contouring my new teeth to make them match my smile. Focuses on attention to detail.

Dr Matteson did a terrific job on crowning my teeth. He has a wonderful personality and great professional demeanor. It is always a pleasure to visit the office; assuming going to the office can ever be fun. I gained great satisfaction seeing how awesome my smile is now. 5 new crowns on my front teeth and they look incredible. Fitment is great. A top notch establishment for sure. I am so happy to have had the opportunity to have my dental needs addressed. Dr Matteson has a great outlook on approaching the work needed. Not all of us have perfect, or even great teeth. Brett and staff were very professional. My need was to solve the failed 2 bridges. He told me he was really good and could get me back to eating and feeling comfortable with implants. I found his enthusiasm to help his patients along with keeping current in technology, a reassuring factor in my experience!

Dr. Matteson and his staff are just wonderful. I was seeing a dentist in Sandpoint and when I had issues that my dentist in Sandpoint couldn't help me he referred Dr. Matteson and I'm so thankful. The staff is friendly, helpful and very nice. Dr. Matteson also friendly, gentle and took time to talk and explained everything to me.

Everyone from front reception ( Gina and Summer) to Mj, my hygienist, are welcoming, professional and make me feel totally comfortable. The thing I value most about Dr. Matteson is that he listens and then takes appropriate action considering your input. He doesn't listen absently and proceed ignoring what you say like some doctors I have experienced. Here is just one example, I shared an experience I had whenever given an numbing for dental work. He said that is a side effect of one of the ingredients and said to his staff get me the medication without that ingredient and I haven't had that side effect again under his care. I had shared that same information with previous dentists and no adjustments were made or considered. He listens and adjusts for his patients best interest and I am grateful for that. I highly recommend Lakeview Dental and Dr. Brett Matteson.

Over the last 20 years I have had dental work preformed In many states, Mexico and Canada. Lakeview Dental by far is the best I have ever had.
