Dr. Auvinen grew up in Freeport, Illinois.He graduated from Oberlin College (Oberlin, Ohio) with a Biology Major, 1981. He graduated with High Honors from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1986 and completed his General Practice Residency at the University of Minnesota Hospitals and Clinics in 1987. Dr. Auvinen was in private practice in theTwin Cities from 1987-2004. He joined Lakeview Dental in 2004.Dr. Auvinen has been very involved in continuing dental education, and belongs to numerous dental organizations. He was awarded the prestigious Mastership Award by the Academy of General Dentistry in 2006. His clinical interests are complex restorative and cosmetic oriented dentistry, TMJ management, and sedation dentistry.
Dr. Jacobs was born and raised in Ironwood, MI. He graduated from Gogebic Community College with a Biology Major, 1983. He graduated from theHenry Ford Hospital School of Nuclear MedicineTechnology, Detroit, MIin 1985 as a Registered/Certified Nuclear Medicine Technician. Dr. Jacobs also attended Northern Michigan University with a Biology Major and Chemistry Minor. He was the Captain of NCSA national qualifying NMU Alpine Ski Team. He graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1991. He was the recipient of the Academy of Operative Dentistry Awardfor outstanding clinical restorative dentistry. Current affliations include: American Dental Association, Wisconsin Dental Association and the Northern Wisconsin Dental Association (President 1996-1997). His clinical interests include restorative, cosmetic, endodontics, removable prosthesis (partials and dentures) and bridges, and sedation dentistry.

I was referred to Lake View Dental by my daughter. I lost part of a filling and fractured that tooth. I am so happy I was referred here. The whole experience was wonderful. Dr. Auvinen and his staff that assisted him made my experience very relaxing. They explained every step as we proceeded as I had to have a root canal and crown. I am very happy that everything I needed done they did all on the same day. I highly recommend Lake View Dental and will be happy to refer others to them.

It was a really good experience. They were polite and took very good care of me. They have state of the art equipment that makes it fast and they are able to do a lot of work in one appointment.

Brook was thorough & pleasant. Right on the mark! My doctor was just as pleasant & informative as well. while teaching an apprentice. Thank you all @ Lakeview Dental Today's appointment was with Carie & she was just as kind & knowledgeable (and gentle) as the rest of the staff I highly recommend Lakeview Dental Center, they actually care!

Excellent and professional staff. Efficient, polite, informative, patient and kind. The building itself is in excellent shape, and everything is pretty perfect. I laughed at the music that was playing. If someone had told me back in 1983 that I'd hear The Violent Femmes and Blondie playing in a dentist's office in Ashland WI in the 21st century, my jaw would have been on the floor!! Times, my dear readers, have changed. And thank God they have!

This was one of the most Thorough visits we ever had. Dr. Barry is very down to earth, kind and receptive. His employees are very professional and friendly. We really felt at ease here!! Megan and Marissa did an awesome job cleaning and was so pleasant to talk with. As a professional myself, I didn't find any flaws and highly recommend this practice to everyone!!

Such a great experience!! I had an emergency extraction. They got me right in. Marisa did a fantastic job overseeing my pre op and Dr. Mike was quick and thorough. There was zero pain, it was over before I knew they were pulling! Thank you lakeview dental!!
