I am so lucky! I love being a kids dentist in Lake Oswego. Relationships with patients and their families from a young age are one of the greatest rewards of being a pediatric dentist. I have the opportunity to help kids with their smiles and establish a lifetime of good oral health. A smile conveys self-confidence a vital part of a childs success.
Lakeside Pediatric Dentistry differs from many other kids dental offices. We have registered dental hygienists on staff as well as dental assistants. We also are able to accommodate larger families with multiple dental chairs operating at the same time.

The entire staff is so nice and so professional. We were referred here by our pediatrician after I expressed my concerns about our previous dentist needing to put my 4 year old son under to fill some cavities. Dr Hughes was able to build trust with him fairly quickly and he was able to fix him up without putting him under! I really appreciate him taking the time to work with him so we could avoid that situation. Dr Hughes is so gentle and so quick that all my kids have no idea what happened during the appointment and they can't wait to go back! And I also appreciate him keeping me informed. My kids LOVE going to the dentist and I'm so happy we found this office.

I am so impressed by this office with the care that they provided my daughter! This was her first experience having dental work done. They were gentle, kind and extremely knowledgeable! Not only did they make sure she was okay with the procedure, they also made sure I was comfortable with the work being done. I would recommend them to anyone.

We have had nothing but great experiences with Dr. Hughes. My 3 boys love going there to get their teeth cleaned. We have had a couple dental emergencies and were so impressed with the responsiveness of Dr. Hughes and his staff. As a dental professional myself, I could not be happier.

Thank you Dr. Hughes. My 2.5 yr old had to have his front tooth extracted today after a fall a couple weeks ago. Dr. Hughes did a fantastic job with the anesthesia and the extraction was smooth and painless. My son didn't move the entire procedure. Dr Hughes explained everything he was going to do, even though my son probably didn't understand much of it. He was very soothing and gentle. In addition, we saw Dr. Hughes a couple weeks ago when the fall occurred. He gave me the option to see if the tooth would need to come out and gave us precautions to pay attention to. He was able to slide us into his schedule today (a Monday) when tooth pain started over the weekend. Even today he gave me the option to wait but did say it would likely have to come out anyway. We chose to have it removed and my kid is so much happier without it. Also, thank you to Lisa who took xrays before and assisted during the procedure. She was calming and accommodating to my other 2 kids who were waiting and watching the procedure. Thank you so much for the positive dental experience!

The hygienists here are great and very capable, sad to leave them. Dr Hughes was our dentist for 4 years without issue until my son required real dental work and not just a check up at the end of a routine cleaning. He was condescending, rude and abrasive with my 7 y/o with sensory issues while applying a sealant to a very sensitive molar. My son was scared, in pain and was not complying. When I informed Dr Hughes that we were done for the day and wouldn't be sealing the other molar, he asked me if I needed to go wait in the waiting room. Nope. Done with this practice, will find a pediatric dentist with some semblance of empathy and decent bedside manner.
