The front desk needs some professional improvement. However, the surgical staff and Dr. Stegmann were utterly amazing. I was very nervous going into my wisdom teeth extraction, and they did a wonderful job reassuring, educating, and taking care of me. Dr. Stegmann genuinely felt like my most trusted family member, and his personality is radiating. They went above and beyond to take care of me both mentally and physically, and I am very grateful! I I was given laughing gas, a sedative, and anesthesia. My biggest complaint would be needing stronger take-home painkillers instead of over-the-counter ibuprofen! I would 100% recommend this

Just got my wisdom teeth removed along with one extra tooth that was no good. I was a few months waiting for this to be done but so worth it. I wouldn't have wanted anyone else but stegmann and his team! They were more than kind every second with me, I felt cared for and safe. What really touched my heart was when dr. Stegmann made me feel so normal about how bad the rest of my teeth are. Iv had lot of cavities and Another dentist in traverse told me 5 different times in the same visit how SAD my mouth was. Well, I think that's why this encounter meant a lot to me. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND 100000/10 thanks dr stegmann and his awesome team!

I can't say enough good about this place! The communication is great and efficient, with their text system I was able to text questions regarding an upcoming procedure and they responded quickly! The surgeon and staff were all very friendly and put my nervous teenager at ease. I was so appreciative to find an oral surgeon in the area that still takes insurance! Thank you Dr. Stegman and staff!

Got them the referral they requested of me from Aspen Dental in June 2021. Called them to confirm that they received it (in June 2021), which they did. Asked them how soon I could I get in for an initial consultation. Was told in early September, the exact date escapes me. Asked them how soon I could in there for the actual surgery. Was told September 23. This date I do recall because I wrote it down. They answered my questions and then proceeded to let me assume that I had successfully set an appointment with no further guidance. Called them today (Friday, August 13th) for my early Sept. initial consultation date and time. Was told they could now not see me till November. They said they needed a referral. While I suppressed the urge to reach through the phone and strangle her I calmly explained to her that I had already gotten and confirmed that they had received said referral. She (Renee) put me on hold and checked into it. The response she came back with is that she did find my records, but there was no actual appointment set for me and the best they could do was October 10 for an initial consultation. If that's t NOT yankin' my chain, I don't know what is! I told her they lost a customer. I suggest you look elsewhere also

If I could give a negative I would. Twice my girlfriend and I missed her appointment first because they closed before her check in time and second time they said they called yet their number doesn't show up on her recent calls,So they cancelled her appointment. Do not recommend this place to anyone.

I had a tooth extraction done here on 9.13.21. I was nervous and had been in pain for awhile. The staff and doctor were amazing! The nubbing process was a breeze and my extraction was no problem. They encouraged me throughout the process. The doctor was personable and funny to ease my nerves.

Wow, I am confused by the two reviews. I just had oral surgery there yesterday! Complete removal of all my upper teeth and some on the bottom. My experience was wonderful. I found the staff caring and professional. My first appointment was a couple weeks ago, referred by my dentist who is doing my dentures. They went over my completed paperwork with me then, including my reactions to medications I have and allergies. They did x-rays and had an exam with the surgeon. They even checked out my insurance that I wasn't sure about. They called and emailed instructions before my surgery. They knew I was scared yesterday - my blood pressure was sky-high - and they were very caring and soothing, bringing my pressure down. Even laughed at my dumb jokes. Before I knew it I was awake and done! No heavy waking up or anything. I have had no swelling or major pain. I say Thank You All. They also called me this morning to see how I was. I would say that is caring and professional. I would highly recommend.

I spoke to Lakeside Oral Surgery, at open of business on a Friday, gave them my referral, my x-ray, specifics about my condition, etc. I also completed their new customer registration and provided detailed information about my medical history, including a slight sensitivity to a particular type of local anesthetic. With all that information in hand, the intake employee made an appointment for me the following Monday. As such, I declined opportunities with other oral surgeons to have my wisdom tooth removed later in the week because Lakeside assured me they could get to me first. I continued to medicate around the clock all weekend; anxiously awaiting my Monday appointment with Lakeside and getting this painful tooth extracted. The morning of my surgery, the doctor decided to peruse my intake form, having completely disregarded it the previous business day and all weekend. Noticing the details about the prior issue with local anesthesia, he panicked and had his receptionist call me and cancel my appointment. When I explained that I had cancelled other appointments because of the scheduled appointment they'd given me, and that I was in a significant amount of pain, they simply couldn't have cared less. I was literally told that if I was experiencing a medical emergency, I should visit an emergency room; in the middle of the COVID pandemic nonetheless. When I told the lady at Lakeside that I didn't have an allergy and had only experienced very mild sensitivity to one kind previously, she said they'd need an allergy test to be cleared first. When I agreed to come in for that as scheduled, she informed me that they don't perform such tests. No referral to an allergy testing clinic. No guidance of any kind. There was zero empathy for my dilemma and zero concern or remorse for the significant impact they'd directly caused me by not having command of their own intake processes. When I asked to speak to the doctor, who'd made this impactful decision (without consulting me in any manner), I was told he was busy. All day has passed and I haven't received a call from him. You'd think he'd have time; especially during the hour that he had on his schedule for me, but he'd prefer to hide behind his office staff rather than have a professional dialogue with a new customer. In no other industry could you employ such poor customer service and remain in business. Imagine how upset they'd be had I cancelled the appointment the morning of. None of this is surprising and there's a reason that this firm has such poor reviews across the internet, but buyer beware. I'd highly recommend waiting a couple extra days to see Grand Traverse Oral Surgery. It'll be worth the delay to avoid the hassle of working with this completely, unprofessional staff and organization. Pathetic.

My son's dentist referred us to Lakeside for wisdom teeth extraction and I have been thoroughly disappointed by the customer service experience, so much so that I canceled my son's upcoming appointment and asked his dentist for a different referral. I provided information far in advance in order to get pre-auth and pre-determination in place but the office failed to act on them in a timely manner. Calls were not returned as promised. When asked why it had taken almost 6 weeks for them to even begin communicating with my dental insurance company, I was told, "I guess I don't have an answer for that." Speaking with the office manager was a fruitless effort. She was dismissive and abrasive. This oral surgeon may be top notch, but it won't matter if his office staff continue to drive off potential patients due to a poor customer service experience.

Needed immediate oral surgery. They worked me in without a previous appointment almost immediately. The procedure was thoroughly explain and all questions answered. I was informed of the pathology report as soon as Dr. Stegman received it. Would recommend to anyone needing this service.
