Assia Fain, DMD, is a highly accomplished general dentist serving patients at Lakeside Family Dental in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. With her advanced education and years of expertise, Dr. Fain offers comprehensive family dentistry services to help improve the oral health of all those in her community.
Dr. Fain has not one, but two dental degrees she received her first in Moscow, Russia, and her second Doctor of Dental Medicine from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. While in Moscow, she completed both an orthodontics residency and her post-doctoral thesis in orthodontics. Dr. Fain previously served as the head of the orthodontic department at the Moscow Center of Pediatric Dentistry where she helped children with cleft lip and palate. She moved to the United States in 1977, working as a dental assistant and hygienist while taking her board certification tests. After graduating with her second dental degree in 2002, she practiced family dentistry and completed a continuing education program in early orthodontic treatment through the American Orthodontic Society.
In 2008, she fulfilled her life-long dream of owning her own dental practice when she acquired Lakeside Family Dental. Committed to staying up-to-date on the most current advancements in dentistry, Dr. Fain attends over 100 hours of advanced training classes and lectures each year. This extensive experience and expertise ensures that her patients receive the most current and advanced treatment possible at their state-of-the-art facility.
Dr. Fain is a member of the International Team for Implantology, the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Orthodontic Society, the American Association of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Cleft Lip and Palate Association, and the Massachusetts Dental Society.

My family and I have been Dr. Fain patients for a long time . She has always helped me with my complex dental issues . She understands me when I need her the most with urgent appointments due to dental issues . All the staff are wonderful .

Dr. Fain is truly wonderful. She also has a great sense of humor :-) She is very thorough and meticulous when working and she would explain things in detail before choosing a course of treatment. My crown was perfect and needed no adjustments.

Had cleaning of teeth. Very well done. Informative every step of the way and afterwards showed me on camera how teerh looked overall and what work should be taken care of down the road aways.. Dr. Fain, Dr. Hassan and the entire Lakeside Family Dental helped me get my smile back. 2020 has been a difficult year for all of us but working with Lakeside Family Dental was one of the few positives that I experienced. Dr. Fein was very very kind to me. I went in terrible pain. She was compationate and assured me that we are going to do everything possible to save my toth and free me from the infection. She was honest, straightforward, and very clear. I value her approach. Her assistant was very kind and wiped my tears! What a gesture! I am coming back next week.
