Dr. Halsey, a nine-year resident of York County, is excited to finally be working near her home! Before opening Lakeshore Dental, she worked for many years as a dentist in Mecklenburg County. Her husband Joe attended UNC-Charlotte and has lived on Lake Wylie for more than 25 years. Dr. Halsey grew up in Alleghany County located in the mountains of North Carolina.

After receiving her first degree from UNC-Chapel Hill, she worked in the cosmetics industry for GiorgioBeverlyHills,EsteLauder Companies, andBelk. While living in Greensboro, she decided to return to school to pursue her dream of becoming a dentist. She attendedNorth Carolina

Once again, this devout Tar Heel fan found herself in Chapel Hill attending one of the countrys most prestigious dental schools. While at UNC, she was a Deans List student and served on the admissions committee as a student interviewer. Dr. Halsey was very active inDelta Sigma Delta Dental Fraternitywhere she was elected President and received their Zane Eargle Award and Kermit Knudtzon Award.

She also enjoys giving back to her community. She has participated in the Mission of Mercy (MOM) dental clinic in Charlotte, NC and Sparta, NC, her hometown. In addition, she participated in Dental Access Day (DAD) in Rock Hill and the Baptist Mens Mobile Dental Busin Monroe, NC.

She continues to focus on post-graduate education by attending numerous continuing education courses focusing on comprehensive cosmetic, reconstructive, and preventive dentistry. She most recently completed courses with Clinical Mastery Series.

Dr. Halsey lives with her husband Joe on Lake Wylie where they enjoy spending summers on their boat and wake surfing with family and friends. She loves SCUBA diving, and in fact, is aPADI-certified underwater digital photographer. Her other interests include travel and painting.

After completing her Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Florida, Dr. Mallary Forrest, DDS, MS earned her dental degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2011. While in dental school, Dr. Forrest was invited into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society and graduated in the top of her class. Upon completion of her dental degree, Dr. Forrest served the Charlotte area as a general dentist for over 6 years.

While she enjoyed her time practicing general dentistry and gained invaluable experience, Dr. Forrest decided to hone her skills and specialize in the field of orthodontics. Orthodontics was the natural choice for her as it encompasses all the aspects of dentistry she values the most, culminating lasting relationships with her patients while helping them realize their dream of a beautiful smile. During her training at UNLV, Dr. Forrest earned an Orthodontic certificate and a Master of Science in oral biology while conducting extensive research in oral cancer.

Dr. Forrests broad range of experience in the dental field allows her to provide top of the line orthodontics tailored to fit your specific needs and desires. She is dedicated to taking the time to determine the best treatment modality and providing optimum results to create beautiful smiles that not only increases her patients confidence, but also sets them up for a lifetime of oral health and function.

Dr. Forrest is married to her high school sweetheart, Matt, a physical education teacher. Together, they have two daughters, Macy and Mia. In her spare time, she enjoys being a mom, cooking, playing sports, and enjoying outdoor activities with her family.

A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, School of Dentistry in 1993, Dr. Woolston joined the US Navy after dental school as a Naval Dental Officer and served for three years with the Marine Corps at Camp Lejeune.

He continued as a reservist for the next 23 years and retired with the rank of Captain. Dr. Woolston became a member of the Academy of General Dentistry in 1993 and then became a Fellow in the Academy in 2006.
