Walter Hong, DDS Dr. Walter Hong has worked and trained extensively to build a practice that exceeds your expectations with trusted, personalized dental care. He consistently brings his patients only the best that modern dentistry has to offer by keeping himself and his team informed on the latest advances and reliable techniques.
After receiving his B.B.A. degree from the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 1993, Dr. Hong trained at one of the worlds most respected dental institutions, the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where he graduated in 2002. While in school, he conducted independent research on burning mouth syndrome and spent a summer in northern Michigan providing free dental care to the children of migrant workers. A class leader among his peers, he served as an elected class officer all four years of dental school.
After earning his D.D.S. degree, Dr. Hong gained additional training during a general practice residency at Meriter Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin, where he served as an on-call dentist for a busy community hospital and emergency room. Due to this experience, Dr. Hong has extensive experience handling and treating many types of dental emergencies.
Tommy Lam, DDS Dr. Tommy Lam was born and raised in Columbia, MD. He graduated from University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where he earned his B.S. in biology. Following his undergraduate studies, Dr. Lam earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from University of Maryland School of Dentistry and afterwards gained post-doctorate training completing a general practice residency at the Baltimore Veterans Affairs Hospital.
While at University of Maryland, Dr. Lam earned various awards in implantology. Also, Dr. Lam was an implant prosthodontic clerk and an officer of Gamma Pi Delta, a prosthodontic honor society. During his residency he received extensive training in implant placement and restoration, endodontics, and prosthodontics. Dr. Lam enjoys several aspects of dentistry but creating functional and aesthetically pleasing smiles is what he loves best about dentistry. Dr. Lam is very excited to join Dr. Hong and the Lake Shore Family Dental team.
