Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires up to 6 additional years of hospital based surgical and anesthesia training. As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Haigney manages a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions. Dr. Haigney practices a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from cosmetic facial surgery, facial reconstruction, obstructive sleep apnea, head & neck tumor removal, corrective jaw surgery and wisdom tooth removal. He can also diagnose and treat facial pain, facial trauma, TMJ disorders, and performs a full range of dental implant procedures.
Dr. Haigney is double board certified. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a Diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, as well as a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
Dr. Haigney's staff is trained in assisting with services ranging from local anesthesia, nitrous oxide (laughing gas), I.V. sedation to general anesthesia within our state of the art office setting. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery.

Erin Stephens graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelors degree in Athletic Training. After graduation she was a Director of a personal training studio in the Cornelius area for 10 years. Erin joined our team in August of 2015 serving as Director of Patient Relations. Her favorite part of this job is the team she gets to work with on a daily basis! In her spare time she likes working out, playing golf and spending time with her two dogs.
Stephanie is a Lake Norman area local, graduating from Mooresville Senior High School and attending Mitchell Community College. After receiving an associates degree, Stephanie attended Lake Norman Dental Assisting School to pursue her love of dentistry. She have been a part of Dr.Haigneys team as a surgical assistant since May 2017. Before joining our team Stephanie worked for her father at Mangan Martial Arts Academy as a karate instructor, and she received her third degree black belt in 2019. With the rest of her free time, Stephanie love trying new restaurants, hanging out with her friends and family, and traveling to find new adventures. Stephanie love helping people and always have a smile on her face trying my best to make our patients feel comfortable and relaxed.
Jordan graduated from Appalachian State University in 2012 with a degree in Electronic Media Broadcasting. After graduating she worked for a group of radio stations in their promotions and programming departments. She joined our team in 2016 as the Director of Patient Relations along side Erin. Jordan enjoys spending time with her husband of 6 years, their two dogs, and their beautiful daughter. She has a secret obsession for all things Disney and she runs in the Disney Princess half marathon each year in February She and her family love camping at the beach and enjoying spending quality time together even if it's curled up on the couch at home watching Paw Patrol
Samantha joined Dr. Haigneys team in July 2017 after attending the North Carolina Dental Assisting Training School. She recently got certified in DAANCE and ACLS. Samantha was born and raised in Gastonia North Carolina and recently bought a house in Stanley. She recently got married to her wonderful husband after 5 years. Samantha has two energetic and loving dogs Cooper (Boston Terrier) and Charlie (Border Collie). In her free time she enjoys going on the lake, four wheeling, playing with the crazy dogs, and hanging out with friends. Samantha enjoy working in oral surgery because there are so many different procedures day to day.

My 14 year old son had his wisdom teeth removed almost 2 weeks ago. After surgery we totally expected pain and possibly dry sockets--and he experienced absolutely no pain, no discomfort, no complications at all. Only had some swelling in his cheeks for a few days. The office staff is lovely, welcoming, and so sweet and easy to deal with. The doctor not only talked to me but directly to my son as well so he didn't feel insignificant, as some doctors tend to do with kids. I was very impressed with his bedside manner and how he was with my son, as well as how good the nurses took care of him during and after surgery. During the surgery the staff gave me a Starbucks gift card to go relax and calm my nerves. The doctor called me personally that weekend to see how he was doing and then office sent him a beautiful bouquet of flowers while he was recovering. Overall, five star experience for something that is typically feared. We won't go anywhere else for oral surgery!

Excellent service! All of the staff from the desk, to the assistants are professional, considerate and personable, eager to go out of their way to meet you needs and make sure you are comfortable. Dr Haigney is caring and informative. Long story short I had two implants that required my sinus be reseated. Through the entire process I did not experience one iota of pain. I highly recommend this awesome surgeon and his excellent staff!

Dr haigney and his team were so kind to me I was so nervous and they were always so understanding. They sent me flowers over the weekend and even gave my husband a Starbucks gift card while he was waiting for my surgery to be over. I had a lot of work to be done and I wouldn't recommend anyone else over Dr haigney!

Dr Haigney and his staff are AMAZING! From the initial consult, to my son wisdom teeth surgery and recovery, ALL TOP NOTCH;) Dr Haigney called the evening of the surgery to check on my sons condition post surgery. The next day flowers were delivered to my son from Dr Haigney and his staff. As unpleasant as any oral surgery can be, Dr Haigney and his staff made the entire experience very nice. Dr. Haigney's office was professional and effective. I had my wisdom teeth removed and the entire process was incredibly smooth. Met Dr. Haigney in the hospital after a fall and diagnosis of a broken jaw. The moment he walked in the emergency room, I knew I would like this man. His sincere concern and beside manner was top notch 100% there. He took the time to discuss, explain, and answer multiple questions, all to make me feel comfortable and at ease. I recently got my wisdom teeth extracted and they made everything from the initial consultation, to the surgery and then the follow up super easy and comfortable. The staff is friendly, personable and they make you feel so welcome. As someone who is anxious about doctor or dental visits, they made the whole process simple and stress free. Along with being friendly, Dr. Haigney and staff are extremely efficient and do not waste your time, which is also a huge plus! Going to the dentist is probably the most dreaded and avoided thing to do for most people. My visit to Lake Norman oral & facial was on of the most comfortable pleasant trips to the dentist I have ever experienced. I was in severe pain for almost a week, after waiting several days to get into my regular dentist she could not pinpoint the exact tooth or whether the pain was caused my my TMJ. This was on a Thursday afternoon, she referred me to a surgeon/TMJ specialist but they could not see me until the following week. After calling several other Drs I was still out of luck and was going to have to continue in horrible pain throughout the weekend. At 6am on Fri morning I found Dr H online and sent a message to them, by 7am their office called me and offered to see me this same day. I probably tried 15 different practices and Dr H was the only one to work me in on a Fri as a new patient. This alone was amazing! Then when I arrived for my appointment the whole staff was so caring and helpful! When Dr H came in to do my exam he was so compassionate and knowledgeable, he took the time to explain everything to me and provide options for treatment. I ended up having an extraction which he did very quickly and was so caring through the whole thing. I have a lot of anxiety when having dental procedures mostly due to my jaw issues afterwards. Dr H was just awesome, so glad I found his practice and extremely grateful they were able to see me today. I will definitely be returning to Dr H for treatment of my TMJ.
