Julie I bring over 35 years of dental hygiene experience to the Lake Michigan Dental team. Growing up with a dentist for a father, I knew from a young age I wanted to be a hygienist. I love connecting with patients in a way that makes them feel comfortable during their visit, and I am committed to helping them improve their dental health. Shelly Hi, my name is Shelly, and I have been working in the dental field for more than 25 years. I feel very privileged to now be part of the LMD team as one of the front desk administrators. I have lived, loved, and supported the Northwest side of Grand Rapids my whole life. My husband and I are blessed with three daughters, two sons-in law, and five adorable grandchildren. I am what they call a 'jack of all trades.' My schedule consists of two days as a dental hygienist and two days as an administrative assistant. When the doctors need an extra assistant, or their assistants need time off, I am able to step in without missing a beat. I am married with one daughter and three wonderful grandchildren. What I like about LMD: I love LMD because I almost gave up dentistry until I subbed here as a dental hygienist more than 16 years ago. LMD gave me new hope in working for a wonderful practice. I started as Dr. Hazens assistant, and after his retirement in 1990, I started assisting Dr. Mike Palaszek. I have two sons, three grandkids, and five great-grandkids. I have been a dental assistant 36 years, married for 35 years, and I have one son, one daughter, and three beautiful granddaughters. I enjoy walking. I try to walk at least 200 miles a summer. I am always scared of going to the dentist. But the hygienist here are phenomenal! They are so kind about checking in on you and making sure you are comfortable. I am consistently impressed with each staff member I interact with and continue to go out of my insurance network because of they're stellar service. Five stars to their hiring department. Would definitely recommend!

Calling me in within minutes of the appointment time, both the technician and the dentist attended to my needs with efficiency and good humor. Returning for follow-up treatment will be done without apprehension!

I had an appointment at Lake Michigan Dental because I chipped a front tooth. Dr. Hallas fixed it up like brand new! They are always very nice, caring and quick at this office.

Dr. Hallas has always been an exceptional doctor, but also a fine person. We want to thank Donna for taking care of our daughter Laura, who is special needs. Outstanding!!! Can't thank her enough!!! Everyone in the staff are great... as always there are exceptions... just one at the front desk...
