Dr. Michael Peterson is a licensed general dentist with over 29 years of experience. He received a B.S. degree in Zoology at Brigham Young University. He then attended the University Of Iowa College Of Dentistry for his dental training. Following dental school, Dr. Peterson completed a General Practice Residency as a member of the U.S. Air Force.Two additional years of military dentistry prepared him well for private practice. He has now practiced for 26 years in Boise.
Dr. Peterson has a keen interest in providing the most up to date, state of the art dental care available and regularly attends continuing education courses to stay on the cutting edge. He also teaches a course for dentists and dental assistants on Cerec Cad/Cam dentistry and is a mentor at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry where advanced Cerec Cad/Cam dental techniques are taught to dentists from across the United States. Dr Peterson is also an official Cerec trainer for Patterson Dental Supply.
Dr. Eric Ballou is a highly skilled and experienced general dentist providing patients with comprehensive general and cosmetic care at Lake Harbor Dental in Boise. With several years of advanced training, Dr. Ballou focuses on CAD/CAM Digital Dentistry with Cerec 3D and Galileos 3D imaging for implant planning. When dentists in southeast Idaho purchase Cerec technology from Patterson, Dr Ballou goes to their office and trains the staff and doctors how to use the equipment. He also teaches a course to doctors and assistants in called Cerec Efficiency. He has been a Mentor for cerecdoctors.com in Scottsdale, AZ for several years and attends courses there regularly in both teaching and learning capacities.
Dr. Ballou graduated with his undergraduate degree in Medical Biology from the University of Utah, before completing his dental degree at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, where he was the Vice President of his class. He received certification for Invisalign in dental school and has since continued with orthodontic courses and certification. After completing many successful cases, Dr. Ballou was selected as a Preferred Provider for Invisalign.

Dental hygienists are fantastic! Very caring and compassionate as well as thorough. Would highly recommend. Update! Dr. Balou is the bomb! I haven't had great experiences in the past with getting dental work done and he's changing my mind and anxiety around it. Thanks for the great care, team!

I went in to address some pretty intense jaw pain, normally I see Dr. Ballou, but saw Dr. Bond this time for an exam. Dr. Bond was great, he was gentle and took the time to listen to my symptoms. As always the staff from start to finish was friendly and professional. I have been going to Lake Harbor Dental for roughly 5 years and have no plans of changing dentists.

After a rough bike crash that left me with a cracked molar and a broken jaw, lake harbor dental fixed me up with a crown the very next day after my consultation! I also had a top wisdom teeth extraction not long after and during both procedures I was impressed by how gently the doctors performed in order to not put any unnecessary pressure on my healing jaw. Ralynne is a fantastic hygienist and is very conscientious of any sensitivity during cleanings.

Compassionate, friendly service. Years ago, my mom started going to this dentist office and asked to be sedated for even simple cleanings. Now she is able to go in without needing that. Because of this, and her glowing reviews, I travel over an hour to make this dentist's office my home. I knew going in I was going to need a lot of work. Everybody in the office made me feel welcome and when I had a chance to talk with my new dentist, we got to know each other a little bit first and then he started to break it to me gently what needed done. I assured him I understood and then he knew that he could talk to me directly. From soft skills to hard skills, this place has it all. My journey to healthy teeth has begun.
