After college I took a job as a scientist at a large company that manufactured many dental and household products. I had significant success with multiple patents for many novel dental inventions. One of those products lead to the launch of a new version of Sensodyne toothpaste in the US and Sensodyne Duo in Europe. Another led to the release of a prescription Stannous Fluoride gel called Vision. Its there when I learned I had a passion and talent for the science of dentistry. Eventually I rose to Senior Scientist but decided to change paths and apply to dental school.
I get to work every day with the greatest group of dedicated staff. Each person works so hard and cares so much for the patients. We hire people who are compassionate and smart. They work hard because they truly believe in what we are doing for our patients.
I want all my patients to have functional teeth for their whole life. I love cosmetics but at the end of the day its about keeping people functional, able to eat their favorite meal when they are 100 years old. Pain free, infection free, thats the ultimate goal.
Likely in the office, at least some of the time. I try to accommodate patient schedules and I never turn away an emergency. Otherwise, we live downtown Saratoga so I love walking on Broadway and around congress park.
Dr. Cara Hernas is a doctor of dental medicine. After earning a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania, she moved on to earn her doctorate degree in dental medicine from Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, PA. While in Philadelphia, Dr. Hernas completed her general practice residency at VA Medical Center.

Dr. Branden Marcus is a doctor of dental surgery in New York. Dr. Marcus graduated from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center with a doctorate in dental surgery, then went on to complete his general practice residency at New York Medical College. This is an excellent dental practice. As healthcare Clinicians ourselves, my wife and I are extremely particular about our medical and dental care. Every member of their team has given us superb care. This is a gentle, skilled, kind and compassionate dental team from the front staff to the hygienists to the Dentist, all made us feel well cared for. I have had a few procedures done at LGFD and my experiences have been great and my results, i couldnt be more pleased. Dr Marcus is great! His plans are always based on good methodology, which is important to me. We go over briefly what is wrong, why it is that way and what we are going to do to correct it, and if applicable, what plan B will be. The times i have had a question during a procedure, he stops and addresses my question. I always feel i am in good hands with Dr Marcus. In addition, the entire staff at this office should be commended. Tori and Shelby do a great job and make me feel welcome. Tammy and Shelly have been doing my teeth for years and always do a great job, and they are nice people! Erin and Mallory are great. competent assistants, and you can sense a good interaction with Dr Marcus. Also nice people! Everyone i have come in contact with here i really like! I have NEVER had a dentist who was as gentle and nice as Dr. Marcus. He did two fillings on my teeth and he was so nice and gentle about it that I will NEVER go anywhere else ever again. Very happy with how fast they were able to get me in and how nice they all were in this office. Thank You

Dr. Marcus totally missed a very obvious cavity during my October 21, 2020 full mouth x-ray. In Spring 2021 I felt something strange and returned for an examination (& another x-ray) and the new dentist on duty instantly spotted the problem with this molar. I was shocked when I looked at the October x-rays and could see the decay very easily. Unfortunately, the decay had progressed to the point that the molar had to be extracted, the first extraction I ever had because I take good care of my teeth. Pain, hassle & $$ cost was the result of Marcus' sloppiness. Needless to say, I left this practice because having a rotating slate of dentists is not as good as having one committed regular dentist. Pity, because the dental hygienists who do the cleaning were patient and caring.

LG Family Dentistry is nothing short of excellent. Great folks, very outgoing, spotless and really make you feel comfortable. Tammy is great, nice, conversational, makes going to the dentist as easy as possible.
