Weve worked with the Chicago Bears bears care foundation to support breast cancer research and awareness and provide dental care to children in at-risk populations. Additionally, we participate in the red nose challenge each year, the annual stroke and juvenile diabetes walks, and more.
Douglas B. Campbell, D.D.S., is an established dental professional and Lake Forest native known for his friendly, relaxed approach and consistently excellent results. After graduating from University of Illinois College of Dentistry in 1982, Dr. Campbell returned to Lake Forest, establishing his own dental practice in 1983 so his hometown could benefit from his extensive training in cosmetic and restorative dentistry. He is thankful for the talented team members who contribute greatly and help make work more fun.
For over 30 years, Dr. Campbell has been honing his artistic and technical skills so he is better able to restore balance, functionality, and aesthetic appeal to his patients smiles. By attending continuing education courses at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies and the Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Education, Dr. Campbell has kept himself at the forefront of emerging dental technology and continues to study cosmetic and physiologic dental care. In addition, he is a member of many respected dental organizations, including the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, Chicago Dental Society, the International Association of Physiologic Aesthetics, and the Association of Comprehensive Esthetics.
Dr. Campbell is married and is a devoted father to his daughter, Cari, and son, Brad. When time permits, he and his wife Pam enjoy running, golf, water skiing, snow skiing, trying new restaurants, and a quiet evening with a good book. Thank you for trusting us with your dental health.
Dr. David Schmidt grew up in Indianapolis, IN. and graduated from Indiana University with honors in Economics then graduated from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1994. He has been fortunate to be involved with dentistry since he was thirteen years old. Dr. Schmidt started chairside assisting his father then. He worked with him until he and his family moved to Lake Forest 20 years ago.
Dr. Schmidt has been involved with many organizations over the years. He has been involved/attended: The Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI) , The Dawson Academy, The International Association of Physiologic Aesthetics (IAPA), the American Equilibration Society (AES), The Academy of Comprehensive Esthetics(ACE), American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), American Association of Dental Sleep Medicine(AADSM), The Center for Occlusal Studies, Illinois State Dental Society (ISDS), Chicago Dental Society (CDS), North Suburban Branch of the CDS, and the Indiana Dental Association.
Dr. Schmidt has constantly worked to improve his skills and averages over 150 hours a year doing continuing education. This allows him to be current on all the latest advances in dentistry. He earned his Fellowship from LVI and also from the IAPA. He is also one of the few Clinical Instructors for the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. Dr. Schmidt assists in teaching doctors from all over the world on advanced cosmetic and physiologic dentistry. Dr. Schmidt also lectures nationally on CAD/CAM dentistry. Dr. Schmidt is currently the President of the International Association of Physiologic Aesthetics (IAPA).
Dr. Schmidt met his wife during dental school and married her shortly after graduation. Mary Beth is a native of Chicago (she grew up in Elmhurst) and is a fellow IU. graduate. She is an avid runner and a former NCAA All-American track star. Today, most of her time is devoted to their four children; identical twins born November of 1997, their youngest daughter in April of 2001, and their son born June 3, 2009. Their decision to move to the north side of Chicago in late 1998 was an easy one. Callie, Kelsey, Courtney and Cole have lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins here, and they have always admired the area. They really enjoy exploring the coastline of Lake Michigan. In his spare time, Dr. Schmidt enjoys boating, sailing, swimming, cycling, and rollerblading. Dr. Schmidt truly looks forward to meeting each of you and getting to know you as a neighbor.
Dr. Kate Steingreaber grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She received her Bachelor of Science in Human Physiology from The University of Iowa and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from The University of Iowa College of Dentistry. While at Iowa, Dr. Steingreaber competed in the Big Ten conference as a track and field athlete. During dental school, she co-founded a social committee to foster collaborative learning environments. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Kate furthered her education at Baylor College of Dentistry (recently renamed Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry) in Dallas, where she received her Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) certificate. Her additional year of advanced training was focused on dental implants, esthetics and dental photography, and treating medically compromised patients. A highlight of her time at Baylor was the Post-Doctoral Implant Surgical Placement Program.
Dr. Steingreaber is passionate about doing what is best for her patients to help them achieve their most beautiful and healthy smiles. She is an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Chicago Dental Society (CDS), Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), Texas Dental Association (TDA), Dallas County Dental Society (DCDS), and the Delta Sigma Delta international professional dental fraternity.
Dr. Steingreaber lives in Chicago and loves exploring both the city and the North Shore with family and friends. In her free time, she enjoys trying new restaurants and recipes, attending comedy shows and concerts, and cheering on the Hawkeyes. Dr. Kate is excited to be a part of the Lake Forest Smiles team, and she looks forward to meeting you!
