I used to work as a mechanical drafting/designer for a loudspeaker company called Infinity Systems, Inc. before deciding to become a dentist. I loved the work, from designing in CAD to prototype building to seeing the products being fabricated on the production line. However, there was one thing missing... I could not stand spending too much time in front of the computer. I needed more human interaction as I love working with people. As I contemplated about different career paths, a few of my friends who were in dental school at the time suggested I look into becoming a dentist. Dentistry involves working with your hands AND working with people, and if I had to do it again, I would choose dentistry again as a career in a heartbeat! Whether it be a subtle or dramatic change, there is nothing more rewarding than knowing that my service has made a positive impact on the lives of the people I serve.
Dr. Cha earned his DDS degree from the Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, and even though he is out of school, he says that his education has never truly stopped. Over the years, he has completed countless hours of continuing education, well beyond the minimum required by the state dental board.
To date, he has certifications from the American Orthodontic Society as well as the Advanced Dental Implant Research & Education Center. He has also taken many courses through SPEAR Education (including ones for restorative, cosmetic, and endodontic dentistry) and worked alongside pediatric dentists to improve his ability to treat children. He is currently a member of the American Dental Association and Texas Dental Association.
Dr. Cha lives in Frisco with his wife of 20+ years, and they have one daughter and two sons as well as a Shih Tzu/Yorkie mix named Romeo. His main hobby is photography, which he was introduced to in the third grade by his artist mother. He particularly likes to take photos of cityscapes and landscapes during the golden hour and blue hour, and hes always ready to talk about photography at any time.
Tracy joined our dental office in 2019, and she brings over 20 years of dental experience to our team. She loves building genuine relationships with our patients while helping them obtain optimal oral health. She completed her training at the renowned Texas A&M Health Science Center Baylor College of Dentistry.
When Tracy isnt at the dental office, youll most likely find her spending time with her husband Jason, son Spencer, daughter Kason, and their two dogs and two cats. Her main hobby is music, and she has previously been a member of The North Texas Concert Chorale. She is also currently learning how to play the drums and bass!
Sharmane is a 30-year dental veteran, so were extremely lucky to have her in our dental office! Her favorite part of her job is helping people find ways to get the treatments they need both easily and affordably. She attended Durham College and is a certified dental assistant and has additional certifications in dental X-rays, implant dentistry, and practice management.
Jessica has been with our dental office since 2019, and she brings nearly a decade of customer service experience to our team. Her goal with each patient is to make their dental care easily affordable by helping them utilize their dental insurance benefits so they receive as much coverage as possible.
A McKinney native, Cortney has been with our team since 2021, and she loves helping our patients improve their health and appearance at the same time, giving them the smiles theyve always wanted. She completed her dental training at Collin County Community College.

Hello. My name is John (hi John), and I am a lifelong dentalphobic. I have avoided going to the dentist my whole life. Anxiety and sky rocket blood pressures have been the biggest reason, plus a few bad experiences in the past. I chose Lake Forest dental for it proximity to my house and they have no problem with sedation dental work. Basically throwing a dart at a map. How lucky I got! After only 2 visits my phobia and anxiety are not a major problem anymore. Dr. Cha and the entire staff at this place are just wonderful and skilled at what they. I even bit Dr. Cha very hard and he was the first one to take responsibility and explain to me why it happened. Sorry Doc! again... I heard him say bite down on this as his finger was still in my mouth, not realizing he was referring to a paper test strip that was about to be used. I am very grateful and so, so relieved to have found these incredible people. Thank you to Dr. Cha and everybody that works there. And YES, I do recommend Lake Forest dentistry! When it comes to insurance coverage, benefits and working these complicated systems, they know their stuff and are upfront and transparent explaining what, who, when, where and how everything will work and what your cost will be. No surprises at all!

What an INCREDIBLE experience I had with Lake Forest Dental. I had a dental emergency recently and needed a root canal. Dr. Cha is my primary dentist and could have most certainly performed the procedure, but he wanted to take extra precaution due to a porcelain crown I already had on the tooth. Dr. Cha and staff knew how much pain I was in, and wasted no time in finding a specialist that could take me in immediately and repair my tooth. I am so thankful for Dr. Cha and his staff for listening to his patients and making the health of my teeth, and my family's teeth, a priority. If you are looking for a warm, welcoming dental office with an outstanding level of professionalism, Lake Forest Dental of McKinney is the place to go!

I love this place! The staff is so friendly, they made me feel so comfortable. They often communicated with me so I wouldn't forget my appointment times. They definitely explained everything that needed to be done in a way that was easier for me to understand. And they thoroughly explained pricing and payment options. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a dental office!

This was my first time at Lake Forest Dental and I had a fantastic experience. They have an incredible staff who made my entire visit fun, quick, and easy. My dental hygienist was Tracy who could have not been any nicer. She took the time to explain everything and was very personable. Dr. Cha was the same way and clearly has his patients best interests in mind. I also spoke briefly with Sharmane (Office Manager) who made sure my check in and out was quick and easy. I was very impressed with the entire team to say the least and will be coming back, along with the rest of my family, in the future.

My wife's gold inlay came out and having so much pain but Dr. Cha quickly examined her and repaired in an hour! He was very professional and delicate! My wife didn't feel anything start to finish. Her new bite is perfect and her new inlay looks real now! Thank you Dr. Steve Cha

I'm petrified when I have to go to the dentist. Dr. Cha was very informative, and him and the staff made the experience very comfortable. I don't think I've had such a good experience like this in a long time when it comes to dental work. Would highly recommend.
