Lake Forest Dental Associates began in 1969 when Dr. Fred Schaffer established the practice at 1400 N. Western Ave. To this day, many of the patients in our practice began as patients of Dr. Schaffer who worked until age 67 at which time he passed the torch to Dr. Richard Cottrell.
Dr. Cottrell purchased the practice from Dr. Schaffer in 1981. That same year, he met the love of his life, Dr. Sharon A. Foertsch. The couple married in 1988, Dr. Foertsch joined the dental practice, and they moved the practice to its current location at 133 E. Laurel Avenue in 1992. Dr. Cottrells love for designing and building led him to develop the offices stand-alone location. Dr. Cottrells attention to detail can be seen in every corner and every brick of the building.
The opportunity to pass along the practice to the next generation of husband-and-wife dental teams came when Dr. Cottrell and Dr. Foertsch decided, in 2015, to take a step back from practice ownership and toward retirement.
When Dr. Laniel Razdolsky and Dr. Monika Tincher explored dental practice ownership they searched far and wide before Dr. Razdolskys love for his hometown of Lake Forest drew him back. He knew he wanted to come home to familiar faces and raise his son in the area that gave him such a strong upbringing. The two purchased the practice in October 2015.
This talented couple was destined for careers in dentistry. Dr. Razdolsky is one of 10 dentists in his family and Dr. Tincher followed in the footsteps of her mother, a general dentist in Westlake Village, CA. Dr. Razdolsky and Dr. Tincher met during their undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Dr. Razdolsky completed his education at the University of Illinois College of Dentistry, and Dr. Tincher completed her education at UCLA School of Dentistry.
After graduation, they garnered experience working as dental associates in Wisconsin, immersing themselves in continuing education, cosmetic dentistry, and innovative materials. Dr. Tincher focused heavily on endodontics, as well as treating children, and Dr. Razdolsky pursued his interests in implant dentistry. Both have completed a variety of CE courses as they work toward their Academy of General Dentistry fellowships.
Dr. Cottrell and Dr. Foertsch found in Dr. Razdolsky and Dr. Tincher a couple whose values mirrored their own in providing patients with the highest level of care and compassion. It is with this purpose, Dr. Razdolsky and Dr. Tincher are delighted to serve the Lake Forest community by providing excellent oral care and creating bright, healthy smiles.

He has extensive continuing education studies in this area, and finds implants to be the most effective, aesthetic solution to replacing one or more missing teeth. He also has been on a dental mission trip to the Dominican Republic, where he performed extractions and placed dental implants for patients who later had them restored by students at a local dental school.
Dr. Razdolsky believes in giving back to the community. He is active in the Give Kids a Smile program, an American Dental Association foundation that provides free oral health services and helped more than five million underserved children since its inception in 2003.
