A native of Erie who attended Cathedral Preparatory School, Dr. Kevin Sambuchino furthered his education at the University of Pittsburgh where he was a member of the varsity tennis team. During his undergraduate years at Pitt, Dr. Sambuchino majored in business/finance and was named to both the athletic and academic honor roll.

He attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, where he received his doctorate in dental medicine. While in dental school, he completed an oral surgery externship at Montefiore Hospital.

Additionally, he has studied the latest techniques in cosmetic dentistry with several renowned dentists from across the country. Dr. Sambuchino has completed continuing education on Invisalign and certification in advanced Invisalign techniques. Dr. Sambuchino continues to study innovations in dentistry to maintain the highest standard of care. He is a board-certified general dentist, who is also certified in nitrous oxide sedation.

Dr. Sambuchino is one of the first 50 dentists in North America using the most advanced Deka CO2 laser. By integrating lasers into his practice, he has been able to offer patients quick, painless solutions to problems that otherwise would require painful surgery.

He has spent time studying with Dr. John Chao in Los Angeles to become certified in the Chao pinhole periodontal technique to correct receding gums. This new technique allows for a painless solution to receding gums, that can replace the older procedure of gum grafting.

Dr. Sambuchino has also studied 3D printing and imaging to allow him to move teeth digitally and print aligners for quick and easy orthodontics for his patients. This 3D technology has also enabled him to place dental implants with the highest level of accuracy and safety possible.

He is working with the newest technologies that allow him to perform implant surgeries without pain and swelling. This is only possible with laser-assisted implant placement. He is now able to complete all of his surgeries without a scalpel with the help of lasers. These techniques significantly reduce swelling, pain and healing time.

A talented cosmetic dentist, Dr. Sambuchino has an acute eye for designing smile makeovers. He can create smiles that are so natural its virtually impossible to determine which teeth he has restored. This is apparent when you examine his case photos depicting his before-and-after smile restorations. He loves being able to help people improve their smile, which instantly boosts their confidence.

Dr. Sambuchino would like to welcome his existing as well as new patients to his website. He hopes that the information presented will help patients gain knowledge and understanding of what he feels is the most comprehensive form of dental health.

At Lake Erie Dental, Dr. Kevin Sambuchino can give you the smile of your dreams with cosmetic dental treatments such asteeth whitening, porcelain veneers, tooth-colored fillings, dental implants, dental bonding, and invisible braces.

Whether your smile is discolored or misshapen or you are missing teeth, you can have the smile youve always dreamed of with the right dentist on your side. And with digital photographic software, Dr. Sambuchino can show you what you will look like after treatmentbefore you even get started!

If youre considering cosmetic dentistry in Erie, PA, our cosmetic dentist will thoroughly examine your teeth and gums to make sure that the cosmetic dentistry option youve chosen is right for you. This includes making sure that your health profile meets the criteria for cosmetic dentistry and that the option or options youve chosen will give you the smile youre looking for.

At Lake Erie Dental, we offer sedation options such as nitrous oxidea safe gas that provides a euphoric feeling. This gas is delivered through a small nose mask, and it wears off immediately after the mask is removed.

As we get older, our teeth often lose the whiteness they had when we were younger. Sometimes lifestyle choices, such as smoking or drinking coffee, can dull the color of our teeth. Professional teeth whitening can make your teeth many shades lighterin just one trip to the dentist!

Also, when whitening your teeth, it is always better to be under the discretion of dental professionals. Dr. Sambuchino always makes sure youre a good candidate for professional teeth whitening in Erie, PA before prescribing a treatment.

If your teeth are uneven, chipped, or discolored, or if you have a gummy smile, you might benefit from porcelain veneers. These wafer-thin shells of porcelain have a similar translucency to your natural teeth. When they are bonded to the fronts of your teeth, they look completely naturalonly better! Veneers are a great way to camouflage dental problems, giving you a straight, white, even smile. Veneers are resistant to staining, so your smile will stay beautiful for years to come.

Porcelain crowns in Erie, PA have several uses, including strengthening a damaged tooth, protecting a tooth that has had a root canal, topping off a dental implant, and anchoring a dental bridge. They are also used cosmetically because they can improve the appearance of a damaged tooth.

Unlike the crowns of the past that used metal, giving the bottom of the crown a dark outline, all-porcelain crowns look much more natural. Crowns can be shaped and colored to blend in perfectly with your natural teeth.

If you have an old filling, you are well aware of the dark color of the traditional amalgam fillings. While these were effective in preventing the spread of decay, they did not provide a very esthetic result. Todays tooth-colored fillings are made of a composite resin material that is not only durable but contains no metal.

Dental implants are the best tooth replacement option available today. A dental implant is a thin post made of sturdy titanium. This post is implanted in your jaw, bonds with your jawbone over a period of months, and becomes the solid foundation for your new natural-looking replacement tooth.

During the healing process, you can opt for a temporary denture. If you have multiple missing teeth, talk to our dentist about implant-supported dentures or bridges. Often it takes only a few dental implants to support a denture or a bridge.

There are also several oral health benefits to dental implants. They may help stop bone loss in your jaw, prevent teeth from shifting, and provide a more solid and even bite for less wear on your teeth.

Erie dentist Dr. Kevin Sambuchino can replace missing teeth, repair chipped or broken teeth, or straighten crooked teethdepending on what the patient needs. The processes will vary from patient to patient, but the result will be the same: a beautiful smile that is even and straight.

Do you experience severe headaches or neck or shoulder pain in the morning despite going to bed at a reasonable hour? Are you noticing that your teeth are wearing down and becoming sensitive? If so, you might be dealing with TMJ or bruxism.

TMJ (temporomandibular joint disorder) and bruxism (teeth grinding or clenching) can be painful dental conditions that negatively impact your quality of life. Everything in our body is connected, so injury and infection in one area can create stress or discomfort in another area.

Dr. Kevin Sambuchino and his Erie, PA dental staff can help you address your TMJ and bruxism pain by using advanced dental technology and reliable methods. TMJ can be so severe that it can limit how wide you can open your mouth, which means that daily and necessary activities like brushing, flossing, and chewing can be painful and challenging.

Temporomandibular disorders (TMD) involve complications with your joints, jaw and facial muscles, jaw bone, and nerves. All components are part of a complex and delicate process that works together to allow you to bite, chew, talk, and open your mouth. Any issue with these parts is referred to as TMD.

The temporomandibular joints TMJ is like a sliding hinge that connects your upper and lower jaw, enabling it to move in various directions. A healthy TMJ is flexible, enabling people to speak, chew, and yawn without discomfort. When the joint becomes misaligned or inflamed, this can restrict movement or make movement painful.

The first thing Dr. Sambuchino will do during your evaluation is to ask about your symptoms, any medications or supplements you might be taking, and whether you are under a lot of stress. He will examine the TMJ and listen to it as it opens and closes. Often there is a clicking sound that accompanies TMJ disorders. He may also order a set of x-rays to get a better view of the joint. If you have a TMJ disorder, treatment can begin immediately, and symptoms should ease up soon after.

Our 3-D Cone-Beam CT Scan takes instant three-dimensional scans of your entire oral cavity, including your teeth, gums, soft tissues, nerves, and jaw bone. Dr. Sambuchino can also use the CT scanner to precisely place dental implants, perform dental extractions and diagnose other oral health issues.

If you are experiencing swelling or constant pain, you can apply heat and ice directly to your jaw hinge to temporarily relieve discomfort. We may recommend nightguards, or oral splints, as a non-surgical treatment while you sleep. The oral splint is placed in your mouth and prevents your teeth from touching, which disperses any pressure in your jaw joint and allows inflammation to heal. Many patients report that nightguards can lessen symptoms and relieve pain. Surgery may be an option for severe conditions that cannot be treated with oral splints.

Many people grind and clench their teeth while sleeping. They are usually unaware they are doing it until they start to wake up with sore jaw muscles and a headache. Bruxism during your sleep is often connected to other sleep conditions, like sleep apnea. Left unchecked, teeth grinding can wear down the teeth and cause them to become loose. Eventually, bruxism has the potential to destroy the jawbone, teeth, and gums. It can also lead to TMJ issues.

Many times, discomfort can be a sign of underlying oral health issues that will only get worse. Any time you experience dental pain, give us a call immediately so we can treat problems while they are in the early stages.

Had an appointment today and saw my hygienist, Laura for the first time, she was very pleasant and very thorough. I am getting to know the staff and they seem to be very pleasant people. Doctor Sam has done a very good job of taking care of my teeth.

Lady at front desk was super friendly and helpful with my insurance issues. Then, the dental assistant who cleaned my teeth, Laura, I believe, was just a beautiful and kind lady.

My first experience was great. Staff were professional, nice and made me feel comfortable, as I was struggling with embarrassment about my teeth. I left there feeling good. I ended up with some pain a few days later and called to be seen. At this visit I felt unwelcome, embarrassed and uncomfortable. I was given wrong information about my insurance, so told the front desk about and was not treated right after that. I just wanted to verify a mistake was made with my insurance. When I got in the back I had a whole different staff and just wanted to walk away, at the point I don't want to go back due to how uncomfortable I felt. The only good experience in both visits was the dentists, treated me the same. I praised this office to coworkers and family after first visit, but I regret. I should be treated the same any appointment I go to.

They do amazing work, very professional and friendly. Only downside I've experienced in the few times I've been to the location is that they are too quick to get to work and don't really allow the numbing medications to do their job So you feel pain here and there.

I've been a patient at Lake Erie Dental for more than 45 years, first with the father and now the son. I use other dental clinics when I winter in another city, but none can compare to Dr. Sambuchino, and his staff. 5 stars for all of you!

Don't go to Lake Erie dental I'm pretty sure it's where I got Covid because when they gave me the gas the mask did not smell clean and I commented on it they laughed that off but now I was still in pain (before I knew I had Covid yesterday) I went to there office to complain about a bone fragment sticking out of my gums causing pain. They swore it was just apart of my jaw and the gums would grow over it. Tonight it was hurting I stuck my finger in there and noticed it was able to wiggle regardless of the pain I spent a hour wiggling it out! Guess what no more pain and yes it was a very large bone fragment if they had properly checked it yesterday they would have seen that and removed it! They have a beautiful office but it's brought way down by the staff. Not to mention the first bottle of gas they charged me $106.00 for lasted less then five min they changed it to another bottle in which I had to teach them how to fix a O ring seal and the bottle registered full but didn't work (I always have a almost instant reaction to gas but nothing from this one) they finally changed it again after I complained that the bottle was ether bad or it was filled with just O2 by accident (yes that happens) after it was changed it worked. They have a lot to improve on!

The office staff was pleasant and professional on 9/29/22. I was shocked by a phone call from the manager two hours before the appointment that I owed $2696.00 because of an administrative error.

Office staff was fantastic, everyone knew what was going on. Dr. Johnson was great figured out why my tooth was bothering me and gave me my options. Staff got me scheduled for a follow-up to do a crown in days. Definitely would recommend.

Overall decent experience. I had a broken and impacted molar that needed either a root canal, or extracted. I went with extraction (due to insurance coverage and cost) and it went quickly. Kevin is quick and efficient, but it definitely was a little rough. This is the first time I've ever had a procedure like this so I wasn't really sure what to expect. I did experience pain during the procedure, but he wanted to get it done and over with so he kept going until it was finished, which I can understand. He didn't stick around after the tooth was out, I'm assuming because he had many other people waiting for similar procedures. They were able to get me in within a couple days of calling for an "emergency" appointment so that was pretty nice. The pain I was experiencing prior to my visit was awful, and they took care of it. Will definitely use them in the future if anything like this happens again.
