Dr. Potts is a gentle, caring dentist who uses the most advanced materials and procedures available. He opened his practice in April of 1974 and is part of a 35-year Libertyville tradition. He practices comfortable, health-centered dentistry, with a strong emphasis on getting to know each patient. In addition to his technical proficiency, Dr. Potts is a careful listener. He will make sure he understands what you want and will explain beforehand what treatment is best for your individual needs, along with all options available to you.

Dr. Potts has been married for 40+ years to his wife, Lorraine. They have two adult children, a son and daughter. They also have three amazing grandchildren who bring joy to their lives and they see as often as possible. For fun, they love to travel and see theater and movies. Dr. Potts loves to play golf, read, walk, and exercise, as well as continue both his personal and professional development.

Dr. Ola Mahmood grew up in Baghdad, Iraq. She attended Dental College at the University of Baghdad but, due to circumstances there, she was unable to finish dental school at that time. Dr. Mahmood fled to Egypt with her parents and sister where she continued to pursue her dream of being a dentist. She graduated from the Modern Sciences and Arts University in Cairo with a bachelors degree in Dental Surgery.

The high level of insecurity and difficult situation in Iraq and Egypt did not stop Dr. Mahmood from pursuing her dream to become a dentist. In 2008, Dr. Mahmood was able to move to the United States with her family.

Through thirteen years of pursuing her dream, shes grateful forthe support of her family andmany otherprecious people in the United States. Dr. Mahmood feels a strong obligation to pay it forward to the community by providing the best dental care possible in thanks for all the support she received in achieving her dream.

Her passion for dentistry came from her love of art and her skills in using her hands in a solid scientific discipline. Cosmetic Dentistry has emerged as Dr. Mahmoods favorite branch of dentistry because she is able to join art and science to create a beautiful result.

Dr. Mahmood is married to a great man and is the mother of beautiful twin girls. Her family is her support system and Dr. Mahmood endeavors to be a model for her daughters. She would love to teach them that life is not easy, but it is worth working hard to live it to the fullest.

She speaks fluent Arabic and English and basic French. In her spare time, Dr. Mahmood enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, practicing yoga, and helping those in need. Dr. Mahmood is a member of the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.

WhitneyWhitney is our Chief Operations Officer. She joined the Lake County Family Dental Care team in 2014 as the Marketing Director. Prior to working here, she was a stay-at-home mom for nine years and a Naval Officer before that. She enjoys networking within the community to increase awareness for oral health.

SaraSara joined our team in 2016 as one of our amazing Patient Care Coordinators. She enjoys interacting with our patients and helping them in any way that she can. While originally from Gurnee, Sara spent a lot of time moving around as a military wife. We are very thankful for their service and thrilled to have them back in Lake County.

Amanda has been a patient care coordinator for over ten years. Her most recent experience was with cancer patients. She was ready for a new experience with a change of pace and she is delighted to be working with Dr. Potts and his team now. The people here are great and Ive been learning something new every day.

Originally from Brooklyn, Amanda has also lived in Massachusetts, Virginia, and most recently right here in Illinois. Most of her family still lives in New York City, but because Amandas wife, Liz, serves in the U. S. Navy, they do a lot of moving. Amanda and Liz have a dog named Gidget, a cat named Simba, and a Hamster named Charles Hampson. When Amanda isnt working or looking after her fur babies, she loves to read and bake.

Melissa is one of our lovely patient care coordinators. Though originally from Round Lake, her life now revolves around Libertyville. She is big on health and wellness and strives to help others feel the same way. Melissa is a student at Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu Jitsu And Fitness and is looking forward to competing in the spring. She and her fiance, Ryan, plan on getting married soon with their bunny Sunny serving as their flower girl.

Jeffrey is our Marketing Assistant and Greeter. Born in Chicago, IL, he currently lives in Deerfield. Jeffrey went to school at the University of Arizona. He looks forward to not only making a difference at the office but contributing to our patients beautiful smiles.

Married in 2009, he and his wife have two children, a boy and a girl. Sonny enjoys playing hockey and Fortnite. Chandler loves to sing and perform on stage. When Jeffrey isnt working, he enjoys swimming, hot yoga, watching hockey, golf, and writing fiction.

MayMay and her passion in dentistry started when she graduated from high school. She took dentistry courses overseas for 2 years prior to moving to New Jersey, where she graduated with high honors from Middlesex County College in Dental Hygiene. May also earned a bachelors degree in Biological Sciences at Rutgers University. She is a member of American Dental Hygienist Association and the Illinois State Dental Society. May has a warm heart and spent many hours volunteering at Raritan Bay Medical Center in NJ as well as at the Reformed Church Assisted Living. She is proficient in English and Arabic.

In her spare time, May likes to sketch/draw, kayak, spend time with husband and family, and cook traditional Mediterranean foods. She is the proud mom of two boys. In the future, May would like to participate in a research program related to dental hygiene and expand her knowledge in the dental field.

Alexandra Alexandra grew up in San Antonio but has lived in Lake County since 2005. She loves the people of this area. Her education started with a B.A. History and American Studies from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Then Alexandra decided she wanted a career which would give her opportunities to help people as a volunteer. As a result, she pursued her A.A.S in Dental Hygiene from the College of Lake County.

She loves coming to work because each day is different. Everyone has a different story to tell. What Alexandra finds most rewarding is when a patient comes back with a marked improvement of her oral health.

VanessaVanessa started as a dental assistant. That is when she realized there were a ton of people in her community who did not understand the importance of proper oral care. As a first-generation daughter of immigrants, she is proud to serve her community and enjoys educating patients about their dental health. For Vanessa, every day is an opportunity to make a positive impact in the field of dentistry.

LeoLeo began his career in dentistry in the Navy as a Dental Technician. He began working at Lake County Family Dental Care in 2007. Leo sought out our practice because he was very interested in the reconstructive sedation cases that Dr. Potts does. Leo enjoys being able to help people and make them smile again. Leo is the lead Lab Technician and Assistant at our practice. He is especially talented at helping patients transition from having teeth to dentures/partial dentures.

When Leos not busy at work, he enjoys doing anything outdoors and adventurous. Hikes with his dog, snowboarding, and golfing are just a few of his favorite activities. He also loves spending time with his wife and son.

AidaAida joined our team of Dental Assistants in 2017. Prior to that, she ran a successful business in Florida for a few years but became homesick. She decided to move back near her family in Chicago. Aida has previous dental experience in an orthodontic office and enjoys helping patients in any way she can.

Sam has always worked on a clinical field of some sort and has decided she now wants to pair it with her love of dental hygiene. She hopes to help others feel as good about their smile. Sam has lived in Lake Villa her entire life and loves spending time with her family which includes, her parents, three siblings, a niece and nephew, and the cutest dog known to mankind. Sam loves coming to work and finds the positive atmosphere makes her job a joy. Sam has a passion for learning which has served her well both on and off the job. In her free time, she loves to be outdoors and laugh with friends. Her next goal is to indulge her passion for photography and begin a portfolio.

Hannah has worked with us since 2021. She finds the whole process of dentistry fulfilling and has a goal to become a hygienist. Watching the procedures, including everything from fillings to bone grafting, fascinates her. One of her greatest joys is helping patients feel happy and comfortable with her smile. When she is not working, Hannah loves spending time with her boyfriend and his daughter and their five pets (two dogs and three cats). Their busy home has a son on the way.

Sadie started working with us in 2021 and were thrilled to have her. Born and raised in the area, Sadies first spark of interest in dentistry began when she had to have her wisdom teeth out. She did some research to learn how theyd do it and found it so interesting that she wanted to pursue a career in the dental field. What she loves most about her job is helping patients feel happy and confident about their smiles. During her time off, Sadie can be found taking care of her two adorable French bulldogs and writing short stories.
