Dr. Lisa Mulkin was born and raised in Wellsville, NY. From the age of nine, she knew that she wanted to be a dentist. She attended SUNY Geneseo and graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then went to SUNY at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 2002.

Dr. Mulkin completed her general practice residency at St. Josephs Hospital Health Care Center in Syracuse, NY. She then worked for a general dentistry practice in Dayton, OH, and, after relocating to Rochester, spent five years at Elmwood Dental Group. Dr. Mulkin is President of the Ontario Country Dental Society, is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, and is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), New York State Dental Society, Seventh District Dental Society Board Member, Academy of General Dentistry and Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. She also has received continuing dental education from Spear Study Club and The Dawson Academy a postgraduate educational and clinical research facility.

Dr. Mulkin seeks to understand the whole patient and not to react to just a single dental problem or concern. Because she comes from a family of educators, her patient care philosophy centers on patient education and co-diagnosis. This assures the patient has a solid understanding so they can choose the direction of their own dental health care. Since the health of your mouth is connected to the overall health of your body, Dr. Mulkin understands the comprehensive nature of every case and takes into consideration all the variables to present the best treatment options for the patient.

Dr. Mulkin enjoys the outdoors and her interests include hiking, nature photography (which is displayed throughout the office), bird watching, gardening, hot air ballooning, and making maple syrupask her, she may even let you taste test. She is married to Dr. Joshua Souweine, also a dentist, and they have one child.

Debra (Debby) Damick is one of our Dental Hygienists. She is a Geneva native and has worked in this practice for more than 35 years. She is a graduate of Monroe Community College with an AAS degree in Dental Hygiene. Debby is certified to administer nitrous oxide sedation and local anesthesia. She is a member of the American Dental Hygienists Association, the Eastman-Monroe Alumni Association and a deacon at the Presbyterian church.Debby along with her husband Donald, have two children and three grandchildren.She enjoys knitting, sewing, Broadway musicals, and vacations with the entire family.

Renee Haers wears many hats in the office. From business details to dental assisting to sometimes being our tech geekette, she is our jack of all trades. Renee has extensive experience in the healthcare industry, including licenses in Massage Therapy and Occupational Therapy. She is also certified as a CEREC assistant. Renee is married Owen and together have a son and daughter. In her spare time, Renee enjoys camping, kayaking, archery and horseback riding.

Christina Baker earned a bachelors degree in biology from the University of Buffalo and anAAS degree in Dental Hygienefrom Monroe Community College.She is an active member of the American Dental Hygiene Association and Eastman Dental Alumni Association, and is certified to administer nitrous oxide and local anesthesia.Christinas desire to continue learning drove her to the dental profession because it is a field where there will always be the possibility to learn and grow. Christina enjoys being active outdoors with her family. She is also a huge football fan and is a season ticket holder for the Indianapolis Colts.

Shawna was born and raised in Oswego, NY, moving to the Finger Lakes in 2014. Although she may be new to the dental field, Shawna has a strong background in customer service. Since starting as the scheduling coordinator for the office in October 2016, Shawna has a new found love for dentistry. She hopes to move forward in the dental field and is very excited to see where dentistry takes her. In 2015, she became a mom to her son. When Shawna is not working, she enjoys spending her time outdoors with her family and friends boating, four wheeling and snowmobiling.

Dr. Mulkin is the only dentist in the Northern Finger Lakes area to earn this designation. Mulkin adds, Snoring and sleep apnea are the not-so-silent killers. These short breathing pauses can occur hundreds of times a night and can lead to serious health risks, such as stroke, heart disease, diabetes, mood and memory issues.

Dental sleep medicine is an area of dental practice that focuses on the use of oral appliance therapy to treat sleep-disordered breathing, including snoring and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Dentists work together with sleep physicians to identify the best treatment for each patient. The American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM) is a professional society for dentists who help patients control snoring and obstructive sleep apnea through the use of oral appliance therapy.

According to the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, treatment results improve when you see a qualified dentist. Dr. Mulkin has earned the Qualified Dentist designation referring to an AADSM dental provider of choice to provide oral appliance therapy as a treatment option for sleep apnea. To receive this credentialing, she successfully completed a mastery course in dental sleep medicine. Dr. Mulkin is the first dentist in the Geneva and Northern Finger Lakes area to obtain this credentialing.
