Dr. Glenn Y. Kadohiro has had the privilege of serving the Lahaina and surrounding communities since 1985. Dr. Kadohiro grew up in Kona on the Big Island. He started his dental career as a dental technician serving in the U.S. Navy. Then, he attended the University of Hawaii at Hilo and received his Bachelors degree in Biology and Psychology in 1979. Dr. Kadohiro received his dental degree (DDS) from the University of Missouri at Kansas City, School of Dentistry in 1983. In 1984, Dr. Kadohiro completed his post graduate education at St. Francis Hospitals General Practice Residency Program in Honolulu. In 1985, Dr. Kadohiro opened his practice in Lahaina, Maui.
Throughout his career, Dr. Kadohiro has continued his education by taking numerous post graduate courses, attending dental meetings, seminars, conventions, implant programs and study groups. Dr. Kadohiro is a member of the American Dental Association, Hawaii Dental Association, Maui County Dental Society and the Maui Professional Dental Forum (Seattle Study Club). With Dr. Kadohiros experience, knowledge, integrity and compassion, he strives to provide personalized and optimum quality care to all of his patients
Dr. Steve Barba has been practicing dentistry on Maui since 2015 and joined our practice in Lahaina in 2020. He grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Barba attended Duke University and received his bachelors degree in Economics. He continued his education at Temple Dental School in Philadelphia and graduated Summa Cum Laude.
Dr. Steve Barba is passionate about comprehensive patient care and continuous learning. He has been a part of the Maui Professional Dental Forum (Seattle Study Club) since 2016, where he met Dr. Kadohiro. He has been recognized by Honolulu Magazine as a Best Dentist in Hawaii in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. Currently he is a part of an advanced continuing education program at the Pankey Institute. He has taken several courses in topics ranging from cosmetics, dental technology and Invisalign. He will be bringing his knowledge and skills to our office.
In his free time, Dr. Barba is an outdoors enthusiast; where he enjoys surfing, hiking, diving, playing basketball, biking, reading and sailing. He also is a sports fan and roots for the Philadelphia Sports Teams and Duke Basketball. He is learning to play the Ukulele and loves to learn about the history of our Lahaina community.
Wendy was born and raised on Oahu but moved to Maui in 2009 to pursue her dental hygiene career. Before becoming a hygienist, she has worked as a dental assistant and has over 15 years of experience in dentistry. When Wendy isnt working she enjoys hiking, going to the beach and traveling to Oahu and beyond!
Tiara was born and raised here in Lahaina. She has worked as dental assistant since 2007, until getting her dental hygiene degree at UH Maui. On her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, newlywed husband, friends, and french bulldog Yoda. Fun fact: shes the only lefty in the office!
Alison was also born and raised in Lahaina but moved to Oahu for many years after graduating high school. She worked as a medical assistant for over 25 years and has been working at the front office with us after moving back to Maui in 2018. Outside of work she enjoys taking her dog walking and hiking and also looks forward to traveling and visiting Oahu!
Kristen was born and raised on Maui and is Dr. Kadohiro and Bevs second oldest daughter (out of 3 girls). She has lived in Lahaina her whole life and has been with the practice since 2008 as a dental assistant. She loves animals and enjoys spending time with her cat at home. She also discovered her love of traveling to Japan after going there for her first time in 2017.
Sheri is Dr. Kadohiro and Bevs youngest daughter and also born and raised here in Lahaina. Shes been with the practice since 2011 as a dental assistant after graduating college at UH Manoa (psychology). Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend and pets (one dog and cat) and also loves traveling to find good places to eat and shop (Japan and Vegas are her top two places to go!)
Raelle has been in dentistry since 2004. She started her career in Seattle where she is from. Having a passion for health and wellness and knowing the impact that oral health has on the whole body, she quickly learned that the dental field is a perfect platform to not only educate people, but help them have better overall health Inside and out. As a frequent visitor to the islands growing up, she always knew that Maui was home. She has been with the practice since 2018 and continues to assist in bringing happy healthy smiles to patients. Outside of the office you might find her at the gym, or in the yoga studio, outside, hiking with her dog or at the beach.
Pauline is a natural born Filipina and migrated to Hawaii on 2017. She can speak Ilocano, Tagalog, and Ibanag. She has been working in the medical field ever since 2015 and she just started her journey in 2021 on the dental side. On her free time, she loves to cook, clean, watch anime, and have a one-person party. Fun fact: shes the youngest in the office!

Dr Kadohiro and his staff are amazing and so kind! Everyone was friendly, genuinely kind and concerned about my comfort. The absolute BEST experience I've ever had at the dentist. Thank you all for taking such wonderful care of me! I'm forever grateful!

I have just been having a great experience with Lahaina Smiles, all the way around, From Dr.Barba, who came up with the game plan to fix my teeth and has done an excellent job with his assistant Raelle in doing so, to Tiara, their Dental Hygienist who got my teeth ready to be fixed, and Alison at the front desk, always making appointments work, and most of all I so appreciate Pauline, who made it all happen, coming up with a way to make it all happen financially. I'll never go anywhere else,they do make you smile again!!

Wanted to update that I been visiting this office since 2016. I had fillings that needed to be done and was recommended a root canal years ago. I also had a crown shortly after and I been staying on top of visits for cleaning from then to now. I continue to go and would like to recommend this office. Staff is very friendly and do excellent work

I felt warm welcomed True Aloha spirit comming in to the office, The whole staff created a happy atmosphere to be around, Dr, Barba was very helpful carring and friendly along with Kristin and Pauline !! If I could give Ten Stars I would and I will Mahalo Nui

Since i moved here on maui 2008 untill now; Dr.Glen and his team has been hellping me and my family , cant thank him enough, The best here on maui:):)<3 always friendly and helpful-he always fix tooth problems ,and able ti fix it. Once i leave his office always with a smile"he does an Amazing job with his team:) we feel the aloha spirit! BIG mahalo:):):)

We were on day 2 of our vacation and my son broke his 2 front teeth. The on call dr called me back in the evening and saw us at 8 am the next day. Helped us during a very stressful situation and we were able to continue our vacation. Thank you !!!!!

I cannot thank this dentist office enough. Was here on Maui on vacation and lost my temporary front tooth. They saved my day and got me in within 30 minutes of me calling and got me a new temporary tooth by 4pm the same day! The whole office was really friendly. Allison at the front desk and Raelle the dentist assistant made me feel so welcome and Dr. Barba was the absolute best. So grateful for this team.

Alison is so sweet, the first person you see. Kind and helpful. Chris helped me understand my insurance in detail, so no surprises. She was very informative. Everybody hates surprises on the bill. Sherry was amazing Raelle helped through my root canal she was very nice I think they have a great staff. I was very impressed with Allison at the front so I could feel comfortable. The 1st person see in a business when you walk in the door makes all the difference! Kind gentle experienced dentist. Great experience! Aloha Julia Piper

Sherry was amazing Raelle helped through my root canal she was very nice I think they have a great staff. I was very impressed with Allison at the front so I could feel comfortable. I chipped a molar a few days before I was to leave Maui for Canada ( and a 14 day Quarantine). Dr Barba explained my options was able to create a fix that was perfect to cover me until I could get to my dentist back home. I was grateful that I was taken care of at the first appointment and highly recommend that if you need to see a dentist in Maui, I would recommend this office.

I loved Dr. Barba when he was in Kihei and found that he moved to Lahaina recently which was perfect! No more far drives for me! I had a tooth issue that he advised me about and repeatedly asked me each time I came in for a cleaning about a few years back and I kept saying I was ok. About 4 months ago it finally caught up to me and started hurting. When I went back to his previous office to find he was no longer there I was devastated because no one else knew what I was talking about and due to me being pregnant they didnt want to proceed til after I gave birth. I ended up finding Dr. Barba in Lahaina, sending over my x-rays and charts and he totally remembered my situation! I'm glad I was able to get to him and he laid down all my options prior to my decision. Super thankful he's still on island and totally helped me with a temporary fix that was safe for me and baby until I give birth. Greatly appreciate him and his staff at Lahaina Smiles! Definitely recommend :)

I've been coming here ever since I moved to Maui a couple years ago and I absolutely love it! Everybody in this office is so nice and professional. I have a wonderful experience every time I come here. Dr. Kadohiro is THE BEST dentist ever- great at what he does and really cares about his patients. Wendy is the best dental hygienist- she is the only person I want cleaning my teeth. Sheri is super awesome, very informative and just a pleasure to be around. Alison is really sweet and always on it. Cris is super helpful and very understanding. They even offer headphones and a blanket for your comfort while they work on your teeth. So cool. I would recommend this dentist office to anyone and everyone. They're great!
