Leo Townsend, D.D.S, is a California Board certified dentist. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Science from the University of California, Berkeley. He then went on to receive his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at Meharry Medical College, in Nashville Tennessee and completed his residency at the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York.
Dr. Townsend has extensive industry experience performing a wide variety of dental treatments. His first priority is caring for his patients with the highest quality of dentistry, and to do so requires providing effective dental care through superior expertise and compassion for each patients unique needs. Dr. Townsend recognizes that a patient's oral health is critical to his or her overall health and well-being. The health of the mouth and the health of the body simply cannot be separated. Additionally, he recognizes that a patient's smile and oral hygiene often play an important part in a patient's self-confidence. Dr. Townsend combines his passion for aesthetics and dentistry to help patients attain a radiant smile that they love.

Kim has been working in the dental field for over 25 years and has an advanced knowledge of chairside assisting as well as office administration. Kim started working at Laguna View Family Dental as a Registered Dental Assistant and now oversees the day to day functions of our business office as well as assisting Dr. Townsend with all of our patients dental treatment.
Kim keeps the office atmosphere light and fun and works closely with staff and patients to provide the ultimate care. She works hard to assure that things run seamlessly and our patients and staff members are happy.
Threca has been a Registered Dental Hygienist at our office since 2010. She has been sharing her friendly, considerate demeanor in the dental field since 1996 after receiving a degree in science and her RDH license from Sacramento City College.
Bobby is proud to be a part of an outstanding team of professionals who believe that creating beautiful smiles should be a relaxing and comfortable experience. He enjoys helping patients continually improve their oral health while ensuring that they have a comfortable and enjoyable experience from beginning to end.

Poor communication about how much is covered by my insurance. They said my cleaning was 100% covered, just like my last dentist's office. One month later, I get a bill. Also, they printed out a paper estimate saying my crown would be covered, just like my previous dentist, but at 6pm the night before the procedure, they informed me I would owe hundreds of dollars. At least I cancelled that before being charged. This office is not worth the unknown charges.

My first visit was May 11, 2022, I was greeted by the most friendly staff. My experience with the exam and with the dental hygienist was great. It was very nice meeting, Sylvia, Kimberly, Dr. Townsend and Ming. The whole staff was very informative.

Dr.Townsend is awesome! I also love the staff they are very nice! The front desk lady Ms. Silvia was very kind and helpful. She also went the extra mile to answer all my billing questions. I absolutely love this dentist.

Prior to finding Lahaina View Family Dentist it had been too long since my last dental visits. I found reasons not go. I had so much anxiety prior to that first visit. The team took great care of me and made me feel welcomed. They took great care to explain each part of the procedures in layperson terms. What I value most, the Laguna View Family Dentist team didn't shame me for my neglect.

It was an Amazing experience, the staff explained everything, was very respectful and patient of my fears. The entire staff is professional and went above to make me comfortable. I would highly recommend this office.

I had to get a crown on one of my front teeth that I've been putting off for a long time due to my own anxieties. Dr. Townsend and his team are so professional, transparent and skilled that they were able to help me overcome my concerns. If you ever had any bad experiences with dentists, then you know how difficult it is to find someone you can trust. I am so glad I was able to begin seeing Dr. Townsend and his amazing team! Every one on his staff is so kind and informative. The first person I met was Laura and she was so nice. From the get go she took the time to help walk me through the enrollment process because it was my first time. Each staff member takes you step by step on what they're doing which is so helpful when discussing preventive treatments and routines. Kim gave me a very thorough X-Ray and photographs of me teeth and told me exactly what she was looking for so I could follow along with the scans. All while taking the time to get to know me. Since I'm a new patient I was very nervous because of past experiences at the dentist but she made me feel at ease during my visit. When I met Dr. Townsend, I was shocked to see how kind he was. Usually dentists just show up, point out what's wrong, and then leave. He was genuinely interested in knowing what questions I had about my exam and I found out more about my teeth than I ever had. It was comforting to be around people who truly care about their patients. I have never had any dentist take the time to explain to me what's going on with my teeth so I really appreciated that. My whole experience was informative and pain free so they really set the bar high!
