Jackie comes with over 18 years of dental experience and 12 of those years as an office manager. She has worked in oral surgery and general dentistry but recently made the decision to come back to oral surgery and joined our team in October 2017. Jackie looks forward to meeting you all and is here for anything that you may need. You can contact her at the office regarding any questions that you may have.
Karina joined our practice in the beginning of 2016. She has been in the dental field since 2001. Karina works in our Covina office and works on the specialty side which focuses on Oral Surgery, Endo, Perio and Orthodontics. She is the friendly face you see when you first walk into the office and will answer any questions that you may have. In her free time Karina enjoys spending time with her family. hiking and also going to the beach.
Erica joined us in December 2017 and is brand new to the dental field. She is the friendly face you will see when you walk into our office and will be the voice you hear when you or our patients call us. She has over 20 years experience in customer service and specializes in putting together treatment plans.
Bernadette comes to us with 20 years of experience. She has experience in dental implants, TMJ treatments, cleft palate repair and orthognathic surgery. Bernadette works hand-in-hand with Dr. Johnson during surgery and ensures the highest quality of care in sterilizing and OSHA compliance. Her kind and compassionate nature comforts patients and makes them feel relaxed and welcomed in our office. Bernadette has Basic Life Support certification along with experience assisting in general anesthesia and IV sedation. She works with Dr. Johnson in both the Laguna Niguel and Covina offices.
Vanessa joined the dental profession immediately after graduating high school as a dental assistant. She has Basic Life Support certification along with experience assisting in general anesthesia and IV sedation. Vanessa assists Dr. Johnson in oral surgery and Dr. Perkins in general dentistry. Her friendly personality, patience and exceptional clinical skills will amaze you. Vanessasfavorite part of dentistry is seeing the results that cosmetic dentistry can do for her patients.
Dr. Arthur Johnson received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from the University of Michigan in 1993. After completing a General residency Program at John Hopkins Hospital and ID fellowship at Bronx Lebanon Hospital, he attended the University of Pennsylvania of Medicine where he earned his Medical Degree (M.D.) in 1998.
Dr. Johnson has been practicing in Southern California since 2001 and he currently maintains hospital affiliation at Mission Hospital and Sharp Memorial Hospital. He is an active member of the California Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is also a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Johnsons scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery includes dentoalveolar surgery, intravenous sedation/general anesthesia, dental implants and jaw/ bone grafting/reconstruction, obstructive sleep apnea, oral pathology, trauma, as well as Botox for facial wrinkles and other conditions.
Dr. Johnson has a strong faith and has started a nonprofit organization Rebuilding Smiles dedicated to treating patients with special needs, substance abuse histories, and our Veteran population. He enjoys reading, Mountain Bike Riding, Skiing and Snowboarding.

This place is great! Dr. Johnson is extremely friendly and even gives you his phone number to text him afterwards in case you have any issues. I had no complications and they got me in and out quickly. Definitely recommend this place!!

Very Dr. Johnson and his staff where great. Went over many different options with no pressure. Performed the surgery and got me out with no issues.

Highly recommend Dr Johnson . Just finished having an implant from start to finish very professional, excellent communication. 2nd part of my treatment was an extraction I very anxious having had a bad experience somewhere else . The extraction I needed was performed with great skill and minimum pain. In fact I didn't realise it was over so quickly . Left feeling happy that the tooth pain had gone. Thank you Dr Johnson and team. I would recommend to family and friends.

If I could give Dr. Johnson and his office ten stars I would. I was incredibly anxious prior to surgery, and Dr. Johnson and his assistants put me at ease quickly. My recovery post surgery was fast and without problems. As good as Dr. Johnson was as a surgeon, the staff was as good, if not better. My phone calls were returned immediately, they worked with me financially (without me asking), and were kind throughout the entire process. i hope I don't have to have surgery like that again, but if I did, I would not hesitate to go back. I would recommend Dr. Johnson to anyone in my family or circle of friends.

Everyone was very nice, professional and seemed to be very good at their job. MY oral surgery turned out to be very difficult since this tooth had a previous root canal. This difficulty was dealt with a great deal of skill and had a minimum impact on me. Also,the issues about procedure that I raised before the extraction were dealt with in a very positive fashion and showed great care for me as a customer. If it weren't for difficulty in getting my medication from Kaiser, I would have given them a five star rating. Despite this issue, I would definitely go back here if I needed another extraction.

Dr. Johnson is an outstanding oral surgent, and his staff at Laguna Surgical is top notch. Everyone is very professional, and they have excellent communications skills, starting with Dr. Johnson down to his team. They care about their patients, and you have direct contact with Dr. Johnson after any procedure. I highly recommend Laguna Surgical & Cosmetic Specialists!

I have one regular wisdom tooth that could be easily extracted and one that is slightly curved. Because of this my dentist didn't feel comfortable extracting the teeth himself and I was referred to this doctor. Upon arriving I had to wait 25 min to get x-rays done. I left work to go in and was planning to go back in to work so I was in a little bit of rush. I told the receptionist/x-ray taker this. The receptionist has a child like persona and was laughing the entire time I was getting my pictures done and she asked if I was OK. After I mentioned I was in a little rush to get back to work- obviously I was just not in the mood to chit chat..... She was is totally unprofessional. After watching a long video on how you can potentially DIE from getting your wisdom teeth, I finally saw the doctor. I had a lot of questions b/c I am planning on getting braces. I asked him a question about something related to ORTHO, I prefaced my questions with "I don't know how much you would know about this.... " He laughed too! and said "I might know something..." in my head I'm like yeah I know you went to school for 8+ years but IDK what you know about braces. Why should you make me feel like I am the one being condescending? Sorry but check your ego... Anyways. I was finally done! The receptionist told the other receptionist that I was in a rush so they would send me a treatment plan through email. This was OK, but I expected it at LEAST the next DAY. It took an entire week. a couple months had passed. I finally saved up the money to schedule an appointment. The receptionist looked over my treatment plan and said oh no..this isn't right. In my head I was like what?? of course BAIT AND SWITCH. She proceeded to add more charges and sent me the new treatment plan. I obviously couldn't afford the amount which had increased over 300 dollars, So I guess I am in the market for a new oral surgeon. They should have honored the first treatment plan they gave me. Save your TIME and YOUR MONEY don't go here. :)

In 2014 we were referred to this dental surgeon for wisdom teeth removal. This is not a full time office- it is a roving center used by various surgeons who come in a book work like a factory. I paid for the work in advance, as was required; BUT they later also billed my insurance Metlife and were paid an additional 80% on the dollar. People were nice. Place was not clean. Soon after surgery my son came down with MRSA. Son was healthy teen with no prior surgery or illness. If I could give Dr. Arthur Johnson a zero, I would.
