Dr. Kalmanovich is proud to utilize his professional and artistic experience and skills to provide beautiful dental solutions to his patients. Outside of the office, he is dedicated to professional development and dental education in his community.
Services provided at Laguna Family Dentistry include general dentistry such as routine cleanings, dental sealants, and fillings, as well as cosmetic dentistry with Clear Aligners, teeth whitening, and veneers. We also provide childrens dentistry and love educating young patients on good oral care and helping them keep their teeth clean and healthy. In addition to oral health services, we also provide sleep apnea in Laguna Beach for patients who suffer from the sleeping disorder.
Alex Kalmanovich, D.D.S practices general and cosmetic dentistry utilizing the newest technologies to provide customized dental care and emphasizing preventative dentistry. Dr. Alex, as hes known to many patients, makes going to the dentist fun and exciting with his friendly and compassionate nature.
After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from UC Irvine, Dr. Kalmanovich earned his dental degree from University of the Pacific in San Francisco. After returning to Southern California, he established his practice in Laguna Beach and serves patients from all of Orange County and Los Angeles County. Dr. Alex is committed to continuing education and stays current with the latest techniques. He has completed courses in laser dentistry, endodontics, implants, and aesthetics.
Dr. Kalmanovich has a strong passion for education and was awarded the The Grosso Endowment for Promise as a Dental Educator. Dr. Alex enjoys giving back to the community by providing free oral health care services to children from low-income families during the month of February. He is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association and Orange County Dental Association. He has recently been selected as a Delegate for the Orange County Association.
He recently moved to Laguna Beach with his wife, Polina and two children. When away from the office, you can find him enjoying beautiful Laguna Beach and surrounding areas with his family, or playing basketball, swimming, and running on the beach.

I used to avoid the dentist like the plague but, now...plaque beware! Dr K and his staff (including their front desk) provide such excellent care that they take away any fear of sitting in that dentist chair. Not to mention those chairs are heated and have massage features. They consistently checked in to ensure I was not only comfortable but also understood why and what they were doing. I did a fair amount of research prior and saw that they offered drill-less technology (using lasers) and not many dental offices in the area have that option. I also needed urgent care as I had an abscess and Dr K made an appointment for me with the oral surgeon next door and was able to get things squared away that same day! I feel so fortunate to have also been introduced to Hayley who is a dental hygienist and works with tongue ties. In addition, they offer in-house dental coverage which is fabulous since I don't have regular dental insurance. I highly recommend them and it's probably the first time in decades where I can actually look forward to dental visits! Thanks!!

Best most friendly staff ever , did a cleaning with Haley this time and she is an absolutely amazing- so thorough and gentle handled Also Dr. Kalmanovich is my favorite dentist I've ever had- I've had multiple fillings done with him and he's gotten them removed pain free with a laser so no drilling involved :)

As always, this Dental office and Dr. Penry are on another level of professionalism and care. Everyone from the front desk staff, to the back end , are just wonderful attentive and caring people. They are up to date with the latest technique and technology for all of my dental needs. I've had a wisdom tooth extraction with Dr. Penry and I am so happy with the care and procedures I've had here. The best part is I've never had any pain here. Just love this place.

I'm always so pleased with this practice. They have recently expanded and it's just beautiful. But more importantly they utilize all the latest techniques and advanced technology so you will receive the very best of care available.
