Been coming here for the last 2 years and I am so grateful I found them. They care so much for their patients and are very professional. From the front desk staff to the hygienist Allen Baker to the Dentist Dr. Taherian, they all truly care which is not always easy to find. Will continue coming here. :)

Because of Covid I had not been to a dentist for sometime. I had never used Delta dental but since I had coverage with them and my usual dentist had retired I decided to go to LAGUNA BEACH DENTAL GROUP. I was scheduled for X-rays and cleaning. The X-rays went fine and the dentist looked at me and I asked about the cleaning. I also was left sitting in the chair for sometime. Then the bookkeeper, I believe, came in and started talking costs etc. I expected there to be some work needed but I didn't plan on doing it that day. I wanted my teeth cleaned. It was recommended I do a DEEP clean which was an extra charge of a few hundred dollars. I said a regular one was ok for today. I have had my teeth cleaned many times. It has always been around an hour and thorough. The cleaning which I had to wait another 20 ++ minutes for and which lasted 10 to 15 minutes was a joke. I don't believe it was a dental hygienist. I had gone with the idea of seeing how I was treated before starting treatment with them. Oon the basis of this Experience I will be going elsewhere for proper care.

We started going to Laguna Beach Dental back in 2020 during the pandemic. They were one of the few dentists actually seeing patients at that time. My elderly mother needed a lot of work done. Christina and Denise at the front desk began by making us feel welcome. Dr. Teherian and her team made mom feel at ease at they assessed what work she needed. Through the process of restoring her dental health they were kind, thorough and conscientious of her tolerance. It took some time, but mom's doing much better these days. She even looks forward to visiting for her cleaning appointments. And Laguna Beach Dental has been very affordable with mom's medicare plan! Like thousands of dollars better than the other dentists we visited. We are very happy and only hope that reviews like this don't make the place too crowded now. ; )

We have been going to Laguna Beach Dental Group for years. Christina, at the front desk, is just a special person. She is consistently on the ball, efficient, kind and so personable. Also, I've found Dr. Taherian to genuinely care about my teeth. She really goes above and beyond in her work.

Great professional dental work. Easy atmosphere and ocean view from office. Upfront with what's happening and what's going to happen.

Phenomenal care and dental work. Needed a new crown for a front tooth, and they went above and beyond to take the time to make sure it was done right. Dr Taherian is unstoppable, and very professional and knowledgeable. Wouldn't recommend any other dental office.

After my dentist retired, I was referred to Laguna Beach Dental Group. At my first appointment they took a full mouth image of my current dental condition using the latest in dental imaging technology. Dr. Taherian, did a full exam and informed me of my current condition and possible future issues. I'm 73 and have suffered periodontal issues for more than 40 years. Dental hygiene is the key to healthy gums and keeping my teeth. Allen Baker, the dental hygienist, did the best cleaning of anyone in the past 40 years. I highly recommend the Laguna Beach Dental Group, Dr. Taherian and Allen Baker. It's the best dental experience I've had in 40+ years. They go above and beyond the standard of care I normally expect.

Over 10 years of professionalism, courtesy and personalized care from this great dental office. From Christina's efficiency and warmth at the front desk when entering, to the entire staff's sincerity. Al has been my hygienist since going there and he is by far the best hygienist in my life time of dental care. Very meticulous and reviews your chart carefully each time. Dr. Taherian is equally impressive. She takes her time, communicates well with her assistants and is very aware of patient comfort. I also appreciate how she offers options to treatment and explains the pros and cons of each. I have unhesitatingly recommended this practice to family and friends.

I came to this dental practice yesterday, for cleaning since I was looking at the best introductory deals for new patients. The deal included mouth x-rays, a full-mouth detail, and diagnostics from a dentist. Being that, I hadn't had my teeth cleaned professionally at all last year and I had lost my dental insurance due to losing my job during covid. I was hopeful that I would be taken care of feeling great with a nice fresh start. I came to the practice 15 minutes prior to my appointment at 2:30 pm. The young front office assistant, Annalisa, greeted me and was very friendly and nice. I paid for my visit at the start of $59 and was called in to take x-rays of my mouth. A lab tech, Brian, took my mouth x-rays and I was led to my room to wait for my cleaning. I waited for a good 30 minutes until the dentist, Dr. Taherian showed up and read through my x-rays on the screen with my mother close by. Dr. Taherian's personality was friendly and personable. Though I was kind of taken aback when the Dr. asked me if I wanted to get my teeth cleaned today as she wasn't sure if there was time on the schedule for me. I replied, yes as that was the main reason I had come in. I was sitting in the dental chair for about an hour now, thinking that this practice wasn't up to par when they didn't understand how a schedule worked, when someone books an appointment. Since I already had paid, I waited to see what would happen. The lab tech, Brian, came back in my room and started setting up for the cleaning. My mom had asked him if he was a licensed hygienist, and he just responded that he knew how to do general cleanings, crowns, and x-rays but was not licensed. I was feeling a bit anxious and worrisome as he started to clean my teeth. From what my mother and I were seeing was that he had only used one scaling instrument for my entire mouth. He did not go under my gum line, and only cleaned up the food that I had just eaten. The little cotton that he used to take off the plaque from the tool, fell on my chest and he didn't have any respect to pick it up. In addition, when he tried flossing my teeth, he did not do a proper job of cleaning my teeth. Instead of the proper flossing technique of pulling the floss down and gliding the floss in a "C-shape" formation on each side of the tooth, the technician just pulled the floss through each tooth, without getting under my gums. Earlier, the dentist had said there was a small deposit under my very last tooth under the gum pointing to where it was on the x-rays, and when we told the tech about it, he pointed to another area where he thought it was, which was not the same spot. Next came the polishing, which was pretty bad as well. The polisher did not hit all of my teeth and definitely did not hit the gum lines. It seemed as if he was scared to touch my teeth as the polisher barely touched them as he only cleaned 1mm. My mom had asked the tech if he could measure my gums as we had that service with past cleaning appointments at other dental offices. To our surprise, he said that he did not do that and it was a job for the periodontist. This entire "cleaning" of his only took 34 minutes total. A thorough hygiene cleaning usually takes about an hour. The dentist came back in and checked it for us and we asked her if she can do a double check of the pockets in the back of my mouth. She double-checked and we are still unsure if she got the tartare in the back. But she did offer a complimentary Chlorhexidine rinse, which we agreed to since my mouth wasn't not thoroughly cleaned. We also asked her about the lab tech who had just done the cleaning and she said he was good and that he was one of her assistants. I was very displeased with this service, and do not plan on coming back here. I thought overall the experience was unprofessional and not very thorough. The fact that there was an unlicensed individual cleaning my teeth was very concerning as he did not do a proper cleaning. If you're looking for an ethical dental practice, do NOT come here.

I am in love with my new Dental Group. Dr. Shabnam Taherian and everyone at Laguna Beach Dental Group are the sweetest people. The office is lovely and my experiences have been 5 star! Dr. Taherian took such great care in explaining my tooth concerns and she delivered exceptional service--as did everyone I interacted with in the office. I feel so lucky to have her and this great group right here in town. I cant wait for my kids to meet her for their visits next week.

I moved to Long Beach in 2011 and changed all my medical providers to doctors in Long Beach--except my dentist. I came to them after over cleaning my teeth and destroying my gums. They were able to repair my teeth and take care of them ever since. Christina is always extremely friendly when I arrive and she is able to get me checked in right away. It helps to have such a positive person right when you walk in. Jade has been my dental hygienist for years now and every time I see her she does such a good job. She gets my teeth clean and makes it a pleasurable experience. When I tell people I'm going to the dentist, they always react with an 'I'm sorry,' and I tell them I actually enjoy it! Dr. Cook is my new dentist and she was great and thorough. I am comfortable with the transition. Overall, I make the drive from Long Beach ever appointment because it is worth coming out here. Great service and I have not had a cavity since being in their care. You should definitely come here for all your dental needs!
