Dr. H is a native of Newport Beach California, growing up with a passion for surfing, skating, and snowboarding. He completed his undergraduate education at UC Santa Barbara with a major in film studies and subsequently worked in the film and television industry both in New York and Los Angeles. After a few years of working, Dr. H decided to change career paths and pursue his childhood dream of becoming an orthodontist.
Dr. H completed his dental education in 2014 at Indiana University School of Dentistry graduating with highest distinction and receiving several awards and recognition including: the OKU Alpha and Omega Award,AAOB Oral Biology Award,William Kramer Award,ADA Dentsply Research Award, and membership in the OKU honor Society. After dental school, Dr. H completed his residency at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland Oregon. The residency has given Dr. H exposure to several techniques and procedures including working with mini implants, soft tissue laser and Propel systems. Patients describe Dr. H as a fun, dedicated, detail oriented person with an eagerness to learn.
Outside of orthodontics Dr. H enjoys spending time with his wife Judi and two daughters, Emri and Zowie. He loves going to concerts, playing guitar, trying new restaurants, hiking, bouldering and most outdoor activities. Dr. H is excited for the opportunity to work with you!
Perhaps the most appreciated was the Manard K. Hine award for 'The Outstanding Fourth-Year Dental Student for Professional Attitude and Habits' chosen by his classmates. Dr. Burns graduated from Indiana University School of Orthodontics and started his practice here in 1981. Dr. Burns was an Assistant Professor of Orthodontics and taught in the orthodontic program for over seven years.Dr. Burns is the past president of the Indiana Association of Orthodontists ' Hoosier Orthodontic Forum, and West Central Dental Society. He remains active in local, state and national dental and orthodontic organizations.
Dr. Burns and his wife, Mary Ann, have three children: Allison, Sally and Greg. Dr. Burns stays busy following their academic and sporting interests and enjoys skiing, scuba diving, car racing and helping run the local Soap Box Derby.

I used to see Dr.Burns when I got my braces. So of course when it comes time for my son to need them we went there. Dr.Hani is amazing and the staff are exceptional! Loving and kind ! So happy with my choice!

Dr. Hani and his staff are so friendly and make my 8 year old son feel so comfortable every time he goes! They allow parents to go back with the kids! My son was scared when initially getting his braces put on and even started crying. They were so patient and took the time to calm him down. Would definitely recommend them to anyone with an apprehensive child.

Two of my children come and see Dr. Hani for orthodontal work. He and his staff is always so welcoming and kind. He is honest and upfront about anything you may have questions/concerns about. Highly recommend!

Adult braces are never an easy adventure but Dr. Hani's team have made my straight teeth a reality! I never thought I would feel confident enough to smile with my teeth and, even though I'm still in my treatment, I smile ALL THE TIME!! Dr. Hani's team are very compassionate, understanding, clear, & kind. I could not imagine going anywhere other than their office for orthodontics care! 12/10 recommend :)

I put a lot of thought into what orthodontist I chose. And I can genuinely say I made the best choice choosing Dr. Hani and his staff. From the start they made me feel comfortable, took their time explaining everything, and they are always so nice and understanding. Dr. Hani has gone above and beyond to fix any and all issues that pop up and he is very meticulous in creating the perfect smile!
