Dr. Steve Sheffield has been the proud owner of LaFayette Dental Associates since 2011. He and his team enjoy treating patients of all ages and from all walks of life. They love their community and are pleased to provide dental care to patients across LaFayette, Tully, Homer, Fabius, Pompey, Jamesville, Syracuse, and beyond.
I received my bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from Brigham Young University in 2004, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude. I then returned to my home state of Minnesota to attend dental school at the University of Minnesota, graduating in 2008.
After dental school, my family and I moved to Syracuse to complete a one-year residency in General Dentistry at SUNY Upstate Medical University. During my residency, I received more extensive training in oral surgery, endodontics (root canals), and periodontics (treating gum disease). After working in a group dental practice in the Binghamton area, my family and I moved back to the Syracuse area, taking over LaFayette Dental Associates in December 2011.
Erin has been a part of Lafayette Dental Associates since 2021. She has enjoyed working as a hygienist for over 10 years creating healthy smiles and building lasting relationships. Outside of work, Erin enjoys spending time with family and friends, getting creative with photography and cooking and spending as much time outside as possible.
I have been going here since 1976, Since Dr. Sheffield has taken over the practice from Dr. Baum, I have seen the latest improvements from a dedicated professional and supportive staff! With this expertise in CNY, I plan on seeing Dr. Sheffield and staff for another 42 years! Also had the kor whitening, Highly recommend it.

Friendly and professional staff. Wait time is minimal. The new office is clean and bright with the latest technology. I have been going here several years and would highly recommend this office.

Very friendly staff and beautiful, clean building. I am so glad I switched to Lafayette Dental Associates! Dr. Clark is awesome and is always singing lol! He is meticulous about his work. I will absolutely be referring people here.

The dental assistants, hygienists, front staff, and doctors are AMAZING! I most recently worked with Dr. Clarke and he is fantastic. My insurance is technically out of network and I still come here. 10/10 would recommend

The care we have received this far at Lafayette Dental Associates has been great. Our 5 year has been doing well there as well, everyone is patient and understanding. Appointments are easy to schedule and quick if emergency arises.

Recent visit was super great for me. New dentist added to the practice and new hygienist added. Super friendly, fun, personable and all around comforting place to go. They squeezed me in for emergency repair and was amazing! I recommend the practice! Very pleased with the staff & Dr. Sheffield. Friendly, professional & accomodating! Recommend for family dentistry!

My wife has been going here for awhile and I finally made the change to go here too and somewhere much closer to where we live. Fantastic experience for sure. The office is amazing and the staff were awesome. I could not recommend them enough.

I went for my 6 month check up this morning. The new office is beautiful. I barely sat down and was called in for my appointment. All staff and patients were wearing masks, which made me comfortable. Everyone is so kind, helpful and professional. I always leave feeling that I am in good hands.
