Dr. DeaKyne grew up in Fortville, IN where he followed in his grandfathers footsteps to become a dentist. Dr. Deakyne received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University and received his doctor of dental surgery degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry. After 30 years of practicing dentistry, the most important things to him are still the relationship with the patient and educating them about their dental needs as well as giving them high quality care.
Dr. DeaKyne enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, including root canals and extractions. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Indiana Dental Association, and the North Central Indiana Dental Association.
Dr. DeaKyne and his wife Shelbia have four grown children and six grandchildren. They attend the Warren United Church of Christ. In his spare time, Kevin enjoys golfing, car shows, attending I.U. football and basketball games, and traveling. His wife Shelbia has a life-long passion for horses and enjoys reading and civil war history.

Our Wabash location was established in 2012. Our providers at this office are Dr. John Ladd, and Dr. Bryan Schmidt. Our Wabash office specializes in general dentistry procedures including fillings, crowns, extractions, and dentures.The Wabash team is currently accepting new patients.
Our Greentown location was founded in 2000. Dr. Brian McLellan is our dentist at this facility, and he specializes in general dentistry. He and his team are currently accepting new patients at this location.
Our McCordsville location was opened in 2017. Dr. David Geiger is our provider at this location. Our McCordsville office specializes in general dentistry and are currently accepting new patients and dental emergencies.
Our Oral Surgery Center and Periodontal teamwere established in 2009. Dr. Patel is our prosthodontist, who specializes in dental implants and extractions, and Dr. Cameron Conkin is our board certified oral surgeon. They are both trained in Sedation Dentistry, Wisdom Teeth Extractions, and Dental Implants. Both of these teams work out of our specialty center located in the Atrium building in Kokomo.
We are proud to provide specialty dental care in Peru, as well as general and specialty dental care in Kokomo. Sedation dentistry is offered at all six of our LADD Dental Locations. We also offer IV Sedation at our Periodontic Location and Oral Surgery Center.

I've been coming here for years. I call to make an appointment for a routine cleaning. Apparently now they have to do a consultation before they schedule the cleaning? Not doing anything special. Just a cleaning. The same thing i've been doing every 6 months for years lol. And even though nothing has changed.. they need a consultation. I don't have time to call off of work TWICE to go to the dentist for a cleaning. Personally I think it's a way for them to make more money, but it doesn't make any sense. So i'll gladly go somewhere else that doesn't require that nonsense.

The Kokomo office is terrible! Paid out of pocket for a root canal and a crown only to have it fall out after just 15 months later. I assumed they would make it right. They did not. Ladd Dental refused to make it right and fix it. Instead they told me to contact the dentist (that is no longer with them) and see if he would fix it. Heck, they are so scummy they wanted too charged me $80 for coming in just to talk them about the issue. Expect poor quality and terrible customer service from them.

I honestly just feel like bawling my eyes out. I had to get some cavities in my front teeth done. I had to tell them numerous times that I needed more numbing shots, because I could feel it! At one point the dentist just stuck the needle in the back of my gums without informing me he was about to so I jumped a little and he said "stay still!". Yeah, if I would've known you were about to do that I could've collected myself at least. The lady doing my fillings had to fill one of my teeth three times and when I told her it still wasnt the same shape as before (there used to be ZERO gap, and she left a large gap) she sighed and said okay let's add more, and what do you know? I had to ask her to add more and by then she told me my gums were bleeding so bad that she couldn't see my tooth shape? I've never heard a dentist say something like that, or dental hygienist for that matter. So I'm already disappointed I have to leave like that, and the lady doesn't even finish shaving the back of my teeth? I tell her it feels weird and she says when I come back for my next appointment she will write in my notes that I need more shaving done... well my next appointment wasn't for over a month. Also, I had two whole fillings break off (very painful!) within the second week after going to Ladd in Peru, found a small stain on my front tooth that was never there!!, have a gap now and extreme tooth sensitivity in ALL of my front teeth, and when I try to call it's straight to voicemail. And yes, I do leave a message. Im so deeply upset about how unsympathetic and careless these people are. The entire time I'm stressing about my front teeth the dental hygienists are just laughing and talking. It would've been nice to have some comfort, instead of a bad attitude when I ask to fill my tooth in and make it look the way it did before! Her excuse was "well I don't know what it looked like before, I have nothing to base that off of". Okay? You didn't have a picture or couldn't have used to x-rays you guys took I'm so confused. Canceled my upcoming appointment and will be going to another doctor here in Peru that actually appreciates me. Also, my bf goes to the one in bunker hill and his fillings already came out it's been a little over one week. This place is a joke.

Every time I go there the staff and doctor are great they have fixed my teeth that had been in bad shape for 10 years. Know I have the big smile back thanks to them.

Dr.Smith is an amazing dentist my experience was great with him. He is very kind and pleasant . I had my top teeth removed and received a top denture, but after I missed a follow up appointment I was bumped to same day appointments. I work and don't have all day to call in to see if an opening is available. I been in my temporary denture for 2 years now. I also walked in to have an adjustment on my denture all staff acted as if I had put them under unnecessary stress. Wish I had taken my business elsewhere. 5 star for Dr. Smith... zero for the business in general.

Not punctual with appointment time, I was scheduled for a new patient right when opened at 8 and was first patient in the door. Door to enter and exit appeared dingy and dirty. 30 min go by and I am finally called back for X-rays. X-rays took just about 30 minutes, required 2 staff members, multiple redos and was hit in the head twice by the machine. I have never experienced such incompetence in taking oral X-rays. Dentist kept referring me as "kid" which I am in my early thirties and probably his children's age, probably his personality (appreciated not being called ma'am), but I do have a name. Overall not a real memorable or pleasant first time experience, not thrilled I have to go back to get my cleaning as every other dentist I have ever been too does it all same day, and I felt like I was upsold on the "type" of cleaning they offer as I have never encountered that before in my dental history.

My daughter had her wisdom teeth out here. They told us they have a special med regimen to follow and she would be fine but gave the Dr cell number just in case. SHE FLIPPED OUT FOR 5 DAYS AND WOULDNT STOP CRYING AND SOMEHOW ENDED UP WITH A BLADDER INFECTION?!?!?!?!?!? I called and called and not one answer from him. Now it has taken 2 years to get the billing straight bc I was not informed there was an issue for a year. The only reason it was handled at all is bc the Wabash office stepped in and helped me when Peru was dodging my calls. I WILL NEVER EVER EVER GO BACK OR RECCOMMEND SOMEONE!!!! 0 STARS

I had to have a root canal. I was unable to use the sedation, but the dentist and assistant were careful to make sure I was as comfortable as possible. If I have to have another procedure like this, I will go to Ladd Dental in Peru. They are great!

I have been going to Ladd Dental for a few years now. I have to say my last appointment there was the best experience I have had yet. Shelly, my hygienist was outstanding! She showed a lot of care and compassion and made sure I was taken care of the best way possible! She was very patient and listened to all of my issues and answered all of my questions. I never felt like I was being rushed or like my issues were not important. I left there feeling relieved and sure that I would be taken care of the best way possible! Thank you Shelly you are the best! It's my opinion that she should win the contest hands down! Good luck Shelly! I am rooting for you! I can't close without giving a shout out to Dr. Kevin! He is also top notch!
