Dr. Cindy Chay went to New Jersey Dental School with a dual-degree in Dentistry and a Masters in Public Health. She then completed her General Practice Residency at Hackensack University Medical Center. Her interest in behavior management and working with patients with special needs led her to serve as a fellow at the Rose F. Kennedy Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities.
She continued her training to become dual-certified in Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics at Montefiore Medical Center and NYU Langone Orthodontic Residency Program, respectively. There, she served as chief resident and was inducted into the prestigious Leo M. Davidoff Society for excellence in teaching. She was also honored with the Theodore L. She is a member of the Rockland County Breastfeeding Coalition group as a Pediatric Dentist to help address tongue and lip tie issues that may affect breastfeeding moms in the Rockland County area.
She believes in making every experience as comfortable as possible and nothing brightens her day more than to see a happy, healthy smile! During her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her beautiful family, reading, and hiking.
Our integrative airway-centered approach seeks to identify and treat the root cause of issues rather than just treating symptoms alone. This includes issues related to breastfeeding and tongue ties, cavities, and orthodontic issues including dental crowding and crossbites. We welcomecollaborating with other practitioners including General Dentists, Certified Lactation Consultant, Osteopaths, Myofunctional Therapists, Craniosacral Therapists, Speech/Occupational Therapists, Pediatricians, and Ear, Nose, and Throat Specialists.
About 12-15% of children are affected by sleep-disordered breathing, with the highest occurrence in children between ages 3 and 5. About 3-12% of preschool and school-aged children habitually snore during sleep. If left untreated, the health of the child is compromised. As a result, we may see bedwetting, daytime sleepiness, failure to thrive, behavioral problems, and decreased quality of life.
As a part of our practice mission in providing comprehensive care to our growing patients, we offer complimentary airway screenings for all our patients. Both Dr. Bracy andDr. Cindy understand the importance of a good airway in a growing child and are happy to answer any questions or concerns that you may have!
