Dr. Jeffrey Javelet, Dr. Kevin Stewart, and their specialized team combine experience, a gentle touch, and the latest dental technologies in order to provide excellent endodontic care. At La Jolla Village Endodontics, we treat patients carefully instead of quickly and we pride ourselves on making your care painless and predictable.
Dr. Jeffrey Javelet was born and raised in Sacramento, CA. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California at Davis, earning a Bachelor of Science in genetics, before attending dental school at Temple University from which he graduated in 1979. Following dental school, he completed a general practice residency at the Sepulveda VA Hospital. He practiced general dentistry and taught at the UCLA School of Dentistry, and he received his certificate in endodontics from Loma Linda University after completing a two-year program in 1983.
He has practiced privately in the La Jolla area since 1983, and he is committed to treating each patient he meets comprehensively and comfortably. At the end of the day, the satisfaction of helping patients through stressful and complex dental issues provides Dr. Javelet with the motivation to continue practicing. His 35 years of experience have allowed him to develop the skills necessary to continue providing a high level of care.
Dr. Javelet regularly attends continuing education courses to stay abreast of the latest developments in dental care, and in 1991, he received his Board Certification from the American Board of Endodontics. Dr. Javelet is a member of a number of professional dental organizations, including:
Dr. Javelet has lectured locally and internationally on various endodontic topics throughout his career, and he has served on the Clinical Practice Committee of the American Association of Endodontists and the Specialty Peer Review Committee of the San Diego County Dental Society. He is also an assistant clinical professor in the UCSD Department of Family and Preventive Medicine.
Dr. Javelet and his wife, Madeline, have three daughters, Jessica, Jennifer and Kelsey. Outside of the office, his hobbies include music (he plays guitar and keyboards for the cover band The Knuckleheads), golf and skiing.
Dr. Kevin Stewart was born and raised in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He attended college at the University of Pittsburgh where he graduated with honors, receiving his bachelors degree in chemistry. Following graduation, he attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, accepting a United States Navy Health Profession Scholarship and later receiving his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) in 2011.
After graduation, Dr. Stewart reported to Naval Medical Command Portsmouth and completed a 1-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD). Following his AEGD, he began a 4-year operational tour on board USS America (LHA6), the navys newest class of amphibious assault ship. His tour included developing the dental department on board, engaging in goodwill tours throughout South America, and delivering comprehensive dental care to ships company, staff, and embarked marines. After completing his service, Dr. Stewart decided to extend his education and specialize in Endodontics by attending residency at VA Health Systems in Long Beach.
Dr. Stewart has been associating with multiple quality-centered endodontic practices in San Diego since graduating residency in 2018 and is excited to begin his next chapter in partnering with Jeff Javelet at La Jolla Village Endodontics. Dr. Stewart continues to pursue the highest standard in clinical excellence through constant learning, regularly attending continuing education courses throughout the United States. Dr. Stewart practices with a patient first, conservative treatment philosophy focused on maintaining the patients natural dentition for a lifetime. Outside of his professional career, Kevin enjoys spending time with his wife Lindsay and 5 children, watching live music, cooking, and staying active.
Yvonne has been with the team for 33 years and has decades of experience in both the front and back office.She loves being part of a dental team that takes great care of patients.Yvonne has 3 children and 4 lovely grandchildren that she enjoys spending time with.Her hobbies outside the office include hiking, camping, reading, and riding a beach cruiser at the boardwalk.
Kathy has been with the team for 18 years and has been an RDA for 27.She is very knowledgeable about the dental field and can be seen around the office doing all jobs at a high level.She enjoys the friendly environment at our office and the quality of care that the team provides.Kathy and her husband of 30 years, Rick, have two children together, Aubrey and Gavyn.Rick is retired from serving in the U.S. Navy.Kathys hobbies include outdoor sports, vacations, and spending time with her family and friends.
Irina has decades of diverse international experience in the medical field and has been an endodontic assistant for 15 years here in the United States.She excels in her ability to welcome patients and get them comfortable at the office.In her spare time she likes listening to rock, cooking, baking, and watching crime movies.She has been happily married for many years and loves taking care of her Rottweiler Gerda.
Sammy is a San Diego native.She joined the team in 2021 as an intern during RDA school.Sammy is a quick learner and a natural at chair side assisting.She enjoys the team approach in caring for our patients and the variety of clinical situations that Endodontics offers.In her free time she enjoys watching baseball, going to the desert, and showing support for our great military!
Yvonne has been with our team for more than 31 years and has significant experience in both our front and back office. She loves being part of a team that takes great care of our patients. Yvonne has three children and three grand children that she enjoys spending time with, and outside of the office, she can often be found hiking, camping and riding a beach cruiser on the boardwalk.
Kathy has been with our team for over 16 years and has more than 23 years of experience as an RDA. She is always on timeand friendly and is very knowledgeable about her work. Kathy enjoys the friendly environment at our office and the quality ofwork our endodontists and team provide. Kathy and her husband of 28 years, Rick, have 2 children together, Aubrey andGavyn. Rick is retired from the U.S. Navy. Kathys hobbies include outdoor sports, vacations, and spending time with herfamily and friends.
A native San Diegan, Nikki enjoys the incredible food and craft beer scene San Diego has to offer. On the weekends she keeps busy outdoors with hiking, swimming, rollerskating, and cruising around in her vintage Chevy Trailblazer.

I came to La Jolla Village Endodontics after finding out that I had an infected root canal after my routine exam with my dentist back in Texas. Being new to the area, I found their office online and was able to get in to see Dr. Stewart within days of calling. After confirming the infection through 3D imaging, we scheduled surgery the following week and the procedure was an absolute breeze! Dr. Stewart did an absolutely fantastic job and while I was a bit worried about the healing process, my wounds healed up exceptionally well. The entire staff from the front desk to the backroom were very friendly, more than helpful and professional. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND coming here if you're in need of an Endodontist.

Thank you Dr. Stewart and team for amazing care. I unexpectedly found myself in immense pain in the midst of getting a crown at the Dentist's office. What started as standard procedure ended with a painful, sensitive tooth, and even some tears out of this grown woman. Turns out that I had an inflamed nerve and thus an urgent need for a root canal. I was immediately referred by my dentist, and this team got me in the office within 30 minutes and quickly fit me into their surgery schedule for a root canal on the spot. This unexpectedly painful experience was remedied quickly ending with a smile on my face and pain-free. I cannot thank this team enough!!! 5 stars! I would return in a heartbeat, if necessary.

For the last 10 years I have done multiple root canal that been performed by family member , different doctors in the USA and even overseas , Dr.Stewart is the best dentist ever I used to drive 3-4 hours to do my root canal , They are so quick , efficient and perfect . It's the first dentist ever I've seen that he called by himself his patient next day checking and follow up . Dr.Stewart is so caring and absolutely a top notch

I had trama to the front of my face and was in need of a root canal for over a week. I had to go to the VA hospital multiple times for them to finally "reffer me out". I was able to get a refferal to see Dr. Javelet in less than 20 hours from when they were contacted. Once I arrived, everyone was kind and there was no shaming for the condition of my teeth or anything like that (sadly has happened before at other dentistries). Dr. Jabelet was extremely knowledgeable and QUICK at preforming the root canal with no pain. I have often needed to "stop work" because my dentist was unable to numb me; not this time! He spoke and worked precisely, got me on antibiotics for the abscess and even sent follow up care . Greatest of all, made me comfortable ( I've needed pre meds to calm me for other dental work). I can not wait until I return for the 2nd part of my RC with his team.

I had a dental emergency and my dentist referred me to Dr. Stewart. I was blown away by the care and concern of him and his staff, how easy it was to get in to see him and how honest and kind he is. Yvonne who greets you makes you feel like family as does his DA Sammy and everyone else there. He is competent, efficient and I went from excruciating pain on Wednesday to feeling like a regular person again on Thursday. Thank you Dr. Stewart!

My regular dentist referred me to La Jolla Village Endodontics. When I called, they asked a few discovery questions, and arranged for me to come in for an evaluation in just 2 days! They even gave me the option to allow enough time to actually perform a root canal *if* needed. They were willing to set aside time "just in case" for me. Amazing service. I in fact did have a root canal performed (my option), and two great things to report. First, Dr. Javelet was incredibly gentle numbing my teeth/gums. I did not feel any needle pain! Afterwards, he was able to permanently fill the tooth thereby eliminating my need to revisit me own dentist for the same procedure (note, he did contact my dentist first to consult with them). If I *ever* need another root canal procedure, I will not hesitate to call and run to La Jolla Village Endodontics!

I had a pretty terrible tooth ache. These guys were able to get me in and take care of the problem right away. I didn't feel anything during the entire treatment. Their entire staff was friendly and accommodating. I would recommend them to anyone needing a root canal.

I was dreading my root canal but Dr. Stewart and team made it as positive an experience as it could have been. Scheduling was simple, the office staff was super helpful and Dr. Stewart was plenty patient in explaining the ins-and-outs of the procedure for me while settling my nerves. The best part - 2 days after the fact I have zero lingering pain. Thanks Dr. Stewart!

I was on vacation and needed a root canal. Dr. Stewart was able to get me in immediately and do the procedure. I usually get very anxious and nervous at the dentist but he and his assistant did a great job at being able to keep me calm. I highly recommend La Jolla Village.

Dr. Stewart is fantastic! I was totally terrified when I found out that I had to have a root canal. But, Dr. Stewart was so calm, friendly, and informative that I was immediately put at ease. I'm one of those patients who has a lot of questions and really wants to understand what will be happening to me. Dr. Stewart was so patient. He took the time to answer every question I had with tremendous detail and care. He explained exactly what to expect and everything went as planned. He even called me afterwards to check on me and to see if I had any additional post-procedure questions. Highly recommend!

What a great experience from top to bottom. I had a root canal 3/2/21 and woke up the following morning 100% pain free! Dr. Javelet is an absolute master in his field. I was so nervous because I had had a root canal in 2020 in Carmel Valley ( not Dr. Javelet ) and my jaw, teeth surface and head hurt for over a week. So happy to have found Dr. Javelet and his assistant Kathy who has worked with him for 17 years. So happy !!!
