BEWARE. Years after seeking care from Dr. Hamidy, I'm still paying for the damage he's done. Two dentists refused to treat me and instead referred me back to this clown to fix the blatant mistakes he made (root canal and crown). Dr. Hamidy's response was to return to the clinic for multiple visits....no apology and no accountability as the care would be on my dime. This is the type of dentist you should beware of. Predatory and ineffective at his profession.

BEWARE** This doctor should be ashamed of himself. I went in for a routine cleaning last summer and he told me I had 5 cavities and needed a crown totaling upwards of 5k. I didn't have the money at the time so I didn't go through with it. They emailed, called, texted and sent mail consistently trying to get me to come back. Well we're a navy family and moved back east and I went to a dentist here to finally get them all filled and he said there were NO cavities. My mouth is completely healthy. This guy is legit scamming people and drilling into perfectly healthy teeth for a buck. It's so unethical and wrong that I'm reporting them to the better business bureau.

I have always had bad experiences with dentists, mainly from lack of trust. For this reason, I had not been to a dentist in over two years. Naturally, my mouth had became a myriad of cavities in this time-- which Dr. Hamidy physically pointed out to me. He worked closely with me to ensure that I understood why and how my mouth was to undergo reparations. Never have I trusted a dentist so much. Thank you Dr. Hamidy and staff!

I've had cleanings, fillings, and Invisalign done here and am satisfied with all the work done. Would recommend to anyone in the La Jolla area. Dr. Hamidy knows what he is doing and it is clear by his work that he is very concerned with the long term oral health of his patients. Prices are clarified and if I ever have questions , Farrah at the front desk helps to clarify. They work great with primary and secondary insurance (they accept UCship as well which is a plus). Appointment reminders well in advance, you can get parking verified, and they are very covid conscience.

Dr. Hamidy and his staff were always awesome. I started my Invisalign treatment in Feb 2019 and they were thorough the entire time.

I'm not a fan of going to the dentist. Some places feel like they just want to maximize what my insurance is willing to cover and give me fillings when I don't really need them. Anyway, after a 3-year hiatus I finally decided I needed to get back to prioritizing my oral hygiene and decided to give this place a try. It's been great so far (I've been going for over a year now). I've had a few fillings - but I was shown actual evidence of needing them and agreed with Dr. Hamidy's assessment. I've also undergone deep gum cleaning to combat the bone loss from going so long without a proper cleaning. This place is very clean, professional, and I am impressed with their use of technology to make procedures comfortable and safe. I docked a star just because I get reminded EVERY visit about the need to straighten my lower teeth for better oral health. And I agree with this assessment as well, but I just don't have thousands of dollars lying around and it's a bit annoying for me to speak about this every time. But there is never any pressure to sell me on the work, just the constant reminder every time. Just like the constant reminder to floss... I guess I'm just embarrassed because I wish I could take better care of my teeth and gums, but I'm a mom and my kids are my priority (not my teeth). Ugh...

I enjoy going to La Jolla Dental Image because the dentist Dr Hamidy is very thorough. The receptionists and other workers are all very friendly and accommodating. I've never had to wait very long and my visits are always very efficient. I go for check ups, cleanings, and I got invisalign braces from them. I highly recommend La Jolla Dental Image, especially if you're a UCSD student since they accept our insurance and are nearby campus.

Being new to the area I needed to see a dentist. I needed someone to fix a broken tooth and have cleaning done while using my dental insurance. I called and Samantha made my appointment in a super time frame. Upon arriving at the office I found it clean, personalities so friendly, precaution due to the virous we are dealing with, examination done and explained to me in a non pressure way. I agreed to the treatment and I was started and I did not continue weeks on end as I have in the past. I am amazed to how well the staff works together and everything done with patient feeling confident. My teeth look wonderful, I am so happy to find La Jolla Dental Image. From one "Happy Camper"!

I've had some previous unfortunate experiences with dental work, and so have had trouble finding dentists that I felt I could trust. My teeth used to be irritated for months after dentals cleaning from the poking and prodding, but I found that after a cleaning here that they felt better than before. I returned, started with Invisalign to fix some underlying alignment problems (which I just finished up), got a deep cleaning, and am very happy with the experience. Dr. Hamidy is more than happy to communicate the reasoning behind his treatment and is sympathetic to his patient's concerns. Now, rather than recoil away from anything to do with my teeth like I did before, I know I can trust Dr. Hamidy's office to help fix my problems.

So first of all, when I visited as a new patient to see Dr. Hamidi for a check up, he was very nice and professional. He was willing to answer all my questions right after he told me that I have 3 cavities (which I'm not convinced and will be seeing another dentist soon for a second opinion). One of the receptionists was trying to convince me to pay at least a portion of the fillings, knowing I didnt have dental insurance at the time. It was hundreds of dollars for fillings on one teeny tiny side of one tooth. If I have to be honest, I get the impression that the office takes advantage of cash pay patients, or people that can't afford insurance. Another thing is, I didn't like how the receptionists didn't even tell me that the cleaning wasn't scheduled that same exact day as my check up with Dr. Hamidi, but THAT is only a minor problem, not that big of a deal. Here is where it all gets very interesting. I had my cleaning appointment scheduled the day after my check up visit wit Dr. Hamidi. The woman who did my cleaning didnt talk very much, nor did she seem to welcome me when I came into the room. Right in the middle of the cleaning, I kid you not, she was falling asleep during the procedure. Sounds ridiculous, right? I had the safety goggles on, so everything I was seeing was quite clear. I couldn't help but feel hurt and confused at the same time. I was thinking to myself, 'Am I not the one that's supposed to be falling asleep? I'm the one lying down on this comfortable chair.' It was an upsetting experience. I had intentions of seeing Dr. Hamidi permanently, but this was an absolute nightmare for me. Seriously? How would you feel if your treater or provider were to fall asleep on you during a dental/Medical procedure? She could've been new to her job for all I care, but that's inexcusable. Fortunately, nothing bad happened to me. There were moments when the lady should've used the oral suction tool more often -- I felt like there was always too much saliva build-up when she was working on my right side and I didn't feel comfortable. Believe me when I say that I've never been to a dentist's office where my cleaning procedure was uncomfortable. To top it all off, after she finished using the drilling tool, I felt like my permanent retainer wires (top and bottom) were feeling a bit weird as if they'd been bent by the drill. I checked them myself and luckily, they were still straight and in good condition. Whenever I had my cleanings in other dental offices, that never happened to me, and my retainer wires felt perfectly fine -- with other dental businesses, I didn't step out of the office feeling regretful or worried. However, my trip to La Jolla Dental Office was the first time I've ever felt bothered immensely about the service that was provided, especially for a new patient like myself. P. S. I'm a recent college graduate and I no longer had dental insurance covered by my school, so I came in as a cash pay patient when I made my first appointment. I speak about my negative experiences with honesty, and I don't have any reason to lie/exaggerate. I wouldn't recommend this office to anyone else.
