Dr. Anisso grew up just outside of Ann Arbor, Michigan in a small town called Northville. As the son of a physician, he was raised with a passion for family medicine. After careful consideration and some strong role models, dentistry most definitely became his calling.

Dr. Greiner is a Southern California native having grown up in Huntington Beach. He attended UCLA for his undergraduate studies graduating with a degree in Computational and Systems Biology. He then left sunny California and attended Boston University for Dental School.

I was introduced to this dental group two years ago and we have been extremely pleased with all aspects of their services from routine cleanings to tooth infections and extractions. Everyone is always friendly and helpful and answers all our questions. Unlike many dentists in the area they do not up-charge so their fees are reasonable. I very highly recommend this dental group!

Dr Anisso attended and graduated from the University of Detroit Dental School in 1991. There, his love for dentistry grew . This was evident by his high class standing and being voted by his peers to act as student body vice president during his third and fourth year.

After graduating Dr Anisso found himself practicing near his home town in Plymouth, Michigan. As a partner in a large group practice he enjoyed his new friendships with his colleagues and staff and loved seeing many of his old friends as patients. Staying true to his philosophy of treating your patients as family his practice grew.

In 1998 he had to make some big changes in his life in order to take care of his ailing father who was living on Bainbridge Island, Washington. Although this was a tough time it ultimately became a blessing in disguise. It was there that he spent several wonderful years with his father, started a great small town dental practice that became wildly successful and most importantly met the love of his life, Janelle.

Dr Anisso and Janelle married in 2000 and in 2001 were once again blessed with their little girl, Bella. Life was feeling quite complete although there was something still missing. After the expected passing of his father and now new family it became clear that most of his family ties where in Southern California. In 2006 they headed to Janelles old neck of the woods around lots of aunts, uncles and cousins in Encinitas, California.

Dr Anisso partnered with La Costa Dental Group in December of 2007. His passion for family dentistry and conservative quality care for both kids and adults alike was a perfect fit in the tradition of La Costa Dental Group, which was first established in 1975. Dr Anisso is light-hearted and enjoy lots of laughter around the office. Nothing is too good for his patients and each one is cared for as if they were family. The entire office staff feels the same and you will feel like family when you visit us.

Dr Anisso enjoys coaching Bellas (and soon Parkers) many sports teams. He plays golf, soccer, tennis, skiing and loves entertaining friends and family in their home along side his beautiful wife Janelle. His free time is usually spent surrounded by the people closest to him and enjoys exploring and traveling new locations with his family.

On September 8th, 2010 the Anisso family welcomes the newest member of the family, Parker. He was born at Encinitas Scripps Hospital at 12:35 in the afternoon a few weeks earlier than expected. Healthy and beautiful, Parker is a true bundle of joy.

In 2018 Dr Anisso became the sole owner of La Costa Dental Group and has assembled, over the last 10 years, a first class team of doctors and staff so that All of our patients will be able to receive All their dental needs from routine cleanings to the most complicated of cases here at La Costa Dental Group.

Dr. Phillips grew up in Cedar City Utah among the red rocks and attended Southern Utah University graduating with a Bachelors degree in Chemistry. Dr. Phillips attended the University of the Pacifics Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry for both his Doctor of Dental Sciences (DDS) degree as well as his advanced orthodontic residency and Masters degree. Dr. Phillips is an orthodontic specialist but also brings with him experience as a general and restorative dentist having practiced in Dublin, CA prior to residency. His unique experience as an orthodontist with a history of practicing general dentistry helps to shape his holistic approach to oral health.

While at University of the Pacific for dental school, Dr. Phillips served as the ethical committee chairperson and performed foundational research into the schools ethical process which ultimately led to changes in the ethical reporting and review policies at the University. During his orthodontic residency his research focused on early orthodontic treatment and the psychological benefits to our youngest patients.

His tenure at the University of the Pacific provided Dr. Phillips an opportunity to give back to the community while he lead an organization that provides education and oral health screenings at community health fairs or pop up events. He enjoyed volunteering his time to CDA Cares which is a semi-annual event that provides dental treatment free of charge to anyone in need. These volunteer experiences taught him the importance of having a healthy mouth and a confident smile.

Dr. Phillips (then known as Joseph) met his wife while was an undergrad and they have 2 beautiful children and have fallen in love with everything that the California has to offer. When Dr. Phillips isnt at the office crafting beautiful smiles, you can find him spending time with is family outdoors hiking or camping. Mrs. Phillips is a tremendous baker and together they enjoy baking through cookbooks after the kids go to sleep.

Dr. Greiner is a Southern California native having grown up in Huntington Beach. He attended UCLA for his undergraduate studies graduating with a degree in Computational and Systems Biology. He then left sunny California and attended Boston University for Dental School. Surviving 4 long New England winters allowed him to receive a Doctor of Dental Medicine. During his time at Boston University he was on the Naval Health Professionals Scholarship Program.

Upon completion of his dental degree, Dr. Greiner was stationed at Camp Pendleton to complete an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency. During this time, he developed a passion for Endodontics. Following Camp Pendleton, Dr. Greiner went on to Endodontics residency at the Naval Postgraduate Dental School in Bethesda, MD. Upon completion of the program he received a Masters in Oral Biology and a certificate in Endodontics. Shortly after residency he completed all the necessary requirements to become a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. From there he spent two years in Okinawa, Japan as an Endodontist for 3rd Dental Battalion before returning to Camp Pendleton. He is very happy to be back in the greater San Diego area and is looking forward to serving the community!

Dr. Greiner lives in Carlsbad with his wife, Rachel, and his son, Graham. He is a huge Lakers and UCLA Bruins fan. Any chance he gets he likes to spend his time on the golf course. He enjoys any activity that gets him outside in the beautiful San Diego weather.
