This group helps La Clinica grow and improve by offering advice on topics affecting patient care. Council members are regular people just like you who meet one evening a month for dinner and discussion. The group discusses issues with employees who are considering changesfor example, new services or hours. As patients, council members offer important information and viewpoints. Council members may discuss their own experiences with La Clinica as well.

What is the purpose of the La Clinica Patient Council? The Patient Council helps La Clinica grow and improve by offering advice on topics affecting patient care. La Clinica uses the group to incorporate patient advice in decision-making processes, offer staff the opportunity to hear what patients think, and help ensure that services really meet patient needs.

Does the council make decisions? The councils scope may include anything related to patient care, and it has an ongoing role in working with La Clinicas patient service standards. The councils role is advisory, and a staff liaison takes recommendations from meetings to La Clinica leaders who ultimately make decisions on patient care.

How many members does the group have? The council is made up of 6-10 patients. This can include as many as two patient members of La Clinicas board of directors. La Clinica appoints a staff liaison who regularly attends meetings, and other staff members may attend on a rotating basis.

What are member qualifications? Council members must be patients of a La Clinica service. They should be interested in and capable of engaging with La Clinica to improve patient care. They should be able to work within a group and be accessible by phone and email. They must be willing to sign a confidentiality agreement.

Can any patient serve? La Clinica seeks diversity in the councils membership, and in choosing members may consider age, ethnicity, gender, family structure, type of care received, length of care at La Clinica, and care location. La Clinica employees and their immediate family members and patients who are paid by La Clinica for any contract cannot serve. La Clinicas staff liaison and patient co-chair appoint new members using these criteria and input of council members about what the group is missing. La Clinica can accommodate Spanish-speaking council members.

How long is the commitment? Members serve 1-, 2-, or 3-year terms with the ability to volunteer for a longer term. As members terms near completion, La Clinicas staff liaison works with them to determine whether they want to extend their service.

When are meetings, and how long are they? The group meets once monthly for 90 minutes in the evening, with a schedule that can accommodate people who work until 5 p.m. Meetings are held at a La Clinica center.

Compensation/reimbursement: Council positions are voluntary. La Clinica provides a meal during meetings and can provide travel and/or child-care reimbursement as needed. La Clinica also offers periodic gift cards to thank council members.

Today, La Clinica offers high quality, prevention-focused services through seven neighborhood health centers, 17 school-based clinics, and a mobile health center. Our outreach programs provide a safety net for our most remote and vulnerable community members, and to help our community access care, we accept all insurance types and offer a sliding scale for low-income uninsured and underinsured patients.

Volunteers are a valuable resource for La Clinica; their energy and talents help the organization meet its commitment to providing quality health care to diverse populations. Their services support La Clinica in making the best use of its fiscal resources, and they help connect the organization to other community groups and organizations. Volunteers can also be valuable advocates for La Clinica in the community.

I had scheduled a emergency appointment, the dentist an the dentist assistant where condescending towards me when I had asked for them to be carful pulling my tooth out. She was very rough on me, almost like she liked causing pain. She broke up my tooth little by little until the roots where left...I was in constant pain despite the 4-5 shots of novacaine. then used a tool to grip the roots an instead of easily pulling it out, she was jamming it into my jaw bone an twisting, almost as if she was trying to hurt me and cause bone damage all the while the entire time I'm drowning in my own saliva and blood, I could barely breath, I was gagging from all of it. This dentist was absolutely unbearable NEVER GO HERE. Update: at the beginning of my visit the dentist was using a sharp tool and was jabbing really hard over an over at my gums at teeth which now have a hole and is giving me pain. This dentist was by far the worst dentist I ever went to.. I believe she tried to sabotage some my other teeth. This dentist needs to be sued for medical malpractice.

I've had a lot of dental work done over the years and gone to several different places and actually had a bad experience at the other West Main location; to be fair I was treated nice but years later I've had to get all the work they did redone which is never fun. I was initially a bit hectic to try going to another La Clinica but my last Dentist had moved so they were the best option at the time and I'm actually really happy with them. They have been extremely nice and welcoming, I've always felt I was treated well at dentist offices for the most part but I feel this La Clinica has gone out of their way to meet my needs or figure out a way to.

Nice friendly staff. Always make me fill comfortable and in good hands. Today had a filling done and the dental assistant was so wonderful and caring.

I went there hoping for help with one of my teeth and got told the same thing all over again it it is always another appointment and another appointment

4 stars only because of how massively hard it is to get a first appointment. The first come, first serve (or first call, first scheduled) style found me dialing in at 7:30 morning after morning and not getting through. Once I was able to schedule, I had x-rays done by Kris, who was very nice, and very thorough. Then met with Dr. Getslinger who was amazing, he answered all my questions and was very personable. I had my teeth cleaned by Corrine, she was so kind, and made it a very comfortable experience for me. All the receptionists and supporting staff were really helpful and polite. I felt welcomed and comfortable.

La clinica is amazing, yes getting an appointment sometimes was trying but when they are the best in the valley you can give them a little leeway on that side of things, the whole staff is great. They hold it down. Especially Ana & Dr. Mcclay. They have improved my quality of life and made me feel so much better about all the apprehensive things that came to mind with going to the dentist. They made it all so smooth and they were so helpful that it brought me to tears a few times. Shout out to la Clinica team for being amazing!

This place is awful! I was treated very rudely by the Dental Hygienist. She talk with a lot of irritation in her voice. She even made little comments that were very rude! She was unprofessional! After my experience with her I called the next day to cancel my other appointment and they had said that it was already cancelled... So they cancelled my appointment without letting me know! I was treated badly for know good reason! I never had this bad of an experience here before, till now! It is not a professional place to go to anymore.

Very nice professional people and great service. A Dental clinic that doesn't try to break you in order to get the care you need.Just a added note about La Clinica Dental, I am just finishing up with the work I needed done after just over a month I've had a deep clean, several teeth filled and 3 extractions with one more to finish the process and get my teeth where they need to be for my partials. The Doctor and nurse that have been working on my teeth are the BEST. thank all of you for great work.

Recently scheduled some of my kiddos to come in see the pediatric dentist the lady at the front desk answered my questions and concerns took down the insurances really took the time to make sure everything was ok for the appointments great customer service!
