DR. L. WES TURNAGE practices general dentistry with an emphasis on cosmetics and orthodontics in Cherokee County since 1979. He is originally from Hartsville, SC. Dr. Turnage graduated Magna Cum Laude from Wofford College in 1976 and from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine in 1979. He practiced in Blacksburg for ten years, and has been in our current location since 1989.
Although using power bleaching, great hands-on bonding, porcelain crowns and bridges can be integral in giving you a 'WOW' smile, sometimes you also have to be able to move teeth. Dr. Turnage has been providing Orthodontics since 1985 and continues to stay up to date on cutting edge technology.
Dr. Turnage is a Member of the American Dental Association, a past Delegate and a past Alternate Delegate to The South Carolina Dental Association representing the Piedmont District, a Fellow of The Academy of General Dentistry, an active member of 'Dentist 's for Oral Conscious Sedation (or DOCS)', and a Diplomate of The American Orthodontic Society.
She is a life long resident of Gaffney, SC. She has worked in the dental field for more than 26 years. She graduated from Spartanburg Technical College in 1995 with a diploma in Dental Assisting, and was a Certified Dental Assistant for close to 9 years before going back to school and graduating from Greenville Technical College in 2004 with a degree in Allied Health Sciences/Dental Hygiene. She has been a Registered Dental Hygienist for more than 17 years. She is nitrous oxide and infiltration anesthesia certified. She loves making patients comfortable in the dental chair and just making new friends and acquaintances in the process. She is a wife of 26 plus years to husband, Billy, and Mom to three children, two of which are grown and one who keeps her busy between school, marching band, piano, and dance lessons. Her family is her heart. She is also an animal lover and currently has 2 dogs, a cat, and 2 guinea pigs at home. In her free time she just like to relax in the quiet for a while.
