Upon completion of my education at USCs School of Dentistry and Orthodontics, I began a career in orthodontics alongside my father, Dr. Kwon. Those who know me describe me as a happy individual who is passionate about family, friends, and meeting new people, which is why this profession was and is my passion. When working with patients, I feel as though my job is more of an enjoyable hobby rather than work. Building trusting and long lasting relationships with patients is both a hope and a goal for my practice. In sharing the skills I have attained, I am able to help others gain confidence through a stunning smile, and for many, it is a life changing experience.

I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and grew up in La Caada. Although I was raised in California, I spent four years in Pennsylvania for my undergraduate studies. As a Korean American, I enjoy bits and pieces of both cultures, especially food. Im an avid fan of good, simple eating, and nothing compares to my enjoyment of sweets. Cakes, cookies, chocolate, candy, ice creamyou name it. I spend most of my free time at church, hanging out with friends, or playing various sports such as soccer. I enjoy partaking in such activities in order to keep a balance between work and leisure.

Orthodontic appliances can be made of metal, ceramic, or plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to a corrected position.

This is a great time to wear braces! Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can choose brackets that are clear or metallic in color. You can choose the color of the ties that hold the wire in brackets. Wires are also less noticeable than they used to be, and the latest materials move teeth faster with less discomfort to patients.

Treatment time typically ranges from one to three years, depending on the growth of the patients mouth and face, and the severity of the problem. Patients grow at different rates and will respond uniquely to orthodontic treatment, so the time to completion may differ from the original estimate. The patients diligent use of any prescribed rubber bands or headgear is an important factor in achieving the most efficient treatment. Interceptive, or early treatment procedures, may take as few as six months.

I got braces from Kwon Orthodontics more than 10 years ago. Back then, they used to charge for consultation, but now there's no fee for consultation. I appreciate how the front desk staff is nice, and I also appreciate the services that Dr. Kwon provides to his patients. I am very satisfied with the services that I received and my teeth looks great! I highly recommend this place!

So far this is the best orthodontist office I have found. Other dentists have talked down on me and didn't really listen to my needs when I said I didn't want Invisalign or to fix my spaces. However, Everyone here listened to me, treated me normally, and discussed my treatment plan in a lot of detail. Very professional and nice team :)

I did my braces here, and I enjoyed it. They used to charge for consults, but they no longer do. They used to give out bread on Saturday mornings. They really improved a lot. I also got my mouthguard, but it was a bit pricey for me. Total cost was $350, and I paid $72 out-of-pocket. The remaining $237 was paid by my college dental insurance. The mouthguard lasted a little bit over a year because my grinding was pretty rough. So I had to replace it. I would recommend getting braces here, AND you must continue going to your general dentist. I got some cativites, and I was not informed. So I think it is very important for ortho patients to maintain good hygiene & also be empowered to ask questions to your dentist. The front desk staff changed, and I honestly like the new staff a lot more. They're very professional, nice, and informed. The two dentist are father & son, so it is a family-owned business. This dental office is also very clean.

The team at Kwon Orthodontics has always been amazing. Always kind and helpful. I got lingual braces with Dr. Kwon years ago. looking back, I wish I just did traditional braces as it would've been a shorter duration and less uncomfortable. However, the end results still gave me straight teeth and the smile I wanted. Highly recommend!

I was referred to Dr. Kwon by a friend who was really happy with her result. At first I was a little hesitant because I live pretty far from the office but boy am I glad I made the drive! The office is super modern and staff are very courteous. They (especially Lydia) at the front desk always greeted me with a genuine smile and was always accommodating when it came to scheduling my appointments. Also, Dr. Kwon is very professional, honest, and gentle when it comes to patient care. He was extremely thorough when explaining what I should expect from my Invisalign visits. 8 months later, I am so happy with the result and would highly recommend Dr. Kwon to anyone who wants a great smile they truly deserve :) Thank you Dr.Kwon and staff!

Dr. Kwon and staff are not only warm and welcoming but also accommodating with their patients. I've been going to their office for over 2 years and have had great results with my braces; the care they put into my teeth was impeccable each visit. Even after I moved out of state I still continue to visit Dr. Kwon on my monthly trips back home, I trust him that much! I highly recommend Kwon Orthodontics, they're an amazing group.

I haven't met anyone like this Orthodontist Don Kwon. As talented as he is caring. He understands how important a beautiful smile is. You have to be crazy or super far not to go to him. Never settle for an average is he mentality. I try to have the nothing is perfect attitude but he insists we can get as close as possible The entire team is amazing Maria is something special Denise leads and Bernice provides the fun and genuineness every office needs As I say I can only speak for my experience but if your goal is a smile transformation I strongly encourage you align with someone who sees your vision and so far Kwon Orthodontics has pinpoint precision of my vision Thanks for stopping by my review
