Dr. Kuzma began his practice with a very strong foundation as a general dentist, which is the best start when growing into cosmetic dentistry. He received his BA in Biology from Lafayette College. He then got his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
After his DDS was complete, Dr. Kuzma began his career of service with a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency in the US Army. Upon completion of this residency, Dr. Kuzma served as a General Dentistry Officer at Fort Bragg, NC for three years.
To be the best cosmetic dentist he could be, Dr. Kuzma sought out the best training available. He received training as a cosmetic dentist at the world-renowned LVI Global Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI), including a foundation in many crucial areas that support the practice of cosmetic dentistry, including neuromuscular dentistry, implant dentistry, and sleep apnea treatment. He joined the ranks of the elite cosmetic dentists who can call themselves LVI Fellows because they have completed the entire strenuous course of study.
Dr. Kuzma was also honored with a Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD), an honor bestowed on dentists who receive extensive postgraduate education. Dr. Kuzma has always been drawn to the leading edge of dentistry, and his continuing studies ensure his practice always remains at the forefront of dental medicine.
Dr. Kuzma has practiced in Wilmington, NC since 1996. In addition to his regular practice, he has served the community by participating in Mission of Mercy Dental Clinics. Along with other dentists, he volunteers his time and expertise to providing dental care for patients in need who cannot afford to get care. In addition, he runs Dentistry from the Heart Days at his practice, where patients who cannot afford the extensive dental procedures they need are cared for, free of charge.
Dr. Kuzma regularly speaks to local dentists and doctors about recent developments in dentistry, and helps train the next generation of dentists, offering dentists in training the opportunity to get hands-on experience at his office.
I woke up one day in fifth grade and knew that I wanted to be in the dental field! After spending a few years at UNCW concentrating on Psychology, I transferred to Cape Fear Community College to focus on dentistry. I later graduated with my Associates in Dental Hygiene and Applied Sciences. Since then I have continued to expand my knowledge through various continuing education courses. I am certified in Myofunctional Therapy, which helps retrain tongue posture and swallowing habits. I want to continue to learn as much as I can about dentistry and overall health.
When I am not making smiles brighter, my husband and I are navigating through our crazy life with our son, Nico. He keeps us plenty busy and on our toes watching him ride dirt bikes! We have two small dogs that we spoil daily. I also enjoy decorating, organizing, and making our house our home.
The air force took my family from Georgia to California, where I was born, and then to Goldsboro, North Carolina, where I grew up. I graduated from hygiene school in 2013, and I am currently studying business online. I put roots down in Leland after finishing hygiene school with my two fur babies, Jager and Stoli. I love Georgia bulldog football, indoor/outdoor home projects, and I visit my family in Pikeville, NC often.
My husband and I were born and raised here in Wilmington and we never plan to leave; Its our home and we love it! We have two beautiful daughters who keep us on our toes and we enjoy every minute of it.
I have been a part of Dr. Kuzmas team for over 11 years now and I can honestly say that I love my job! Being a part of changing patients lives one smile at a time is an honor. Giving patients that have had bad experiences new positive memories is extremely rewarding. Dentistry has changed so much in the 20 years Ive been assisting, so its important to me to be a part of a team that continually learns new ways of caring for our patients. Every patients needs are different and because of Dr. Kuzmas diverse training, he is able to help them, all while glorifying God.
I moved to North Carolina two years ago with my fianc, Justin. I am originally from Bristol, Rhode Island. I love the beach life and relaxing with our three bull dogs (Butch Cassidy, Carolina, and Ladybug). My son, who just retired from the Army after 4 years, just recently moved to Wilmington and I could not be more thrilled to have him around more often!
I have been in the dental field for over twenty five years and I couldnt imagine my life any other way. I take pride in the fact that I have been trained in so many advanced aspects of dentistry, but have specialized in cosmetics. Everyone feels better with a great big smile!
I was born and raised right here in Wilmington, and I could not imagine living anywhere else! I graduated from CFCC in 2005 with a certificate in dental assisting and a bachelors degree in psychology. Not only have I had the pleasure of meeting and working with some amazing people, but I am also incredibly blessed to call Kuzma Advanced Dentistry my work home. Our staff is incredibly talented, knowledgeable and kind. If I am not at work you can most definitely find me at home or at the beach spending time with my friends and family; my 9 year old son, Matthew, makes life amazing!
I am originally from Queens, New York, but I have absolutely fallen in love with Wilmington! All I ever knew were busy streets with dreadful traffic. My boyfriend and I met in New York, and we decided Wilmington is where we wanted to start our life and a family of our own; Im very happy with the change of pace! When not at work, I love experimenting with different make-up looks and outfits.
I have been in the dental field since I was eighteen years old, and I absolutely love it. I feel very blessed to have the opportunity to work with Dr. Kuzma and the team; I am constantly learning and growing. I am originally from California, but I moved to Chapel Hill, North Carolina in 2006. I continued pursuing my education and graduated from Pennsylvania State Universitys business program. I have lived in Wilmington for the past 8 years, and I have been working in the dental field for the past 5 years; I have had the opportunity to work with Dr. Kuzmas office for over 2 years! When I am not at the office I enjoy spending time with my dog, Roscoe, being active by the sea and traveling the world. I absolutely love my job! Everybody deserves a beautiful smile, and I couldnt be more fulfilled knowing that I get to assist people on their journey to a healthier, happier life! I am originally from Brazil. My husband, Lars, and I moved here from the Boston area two years ago with our westie dog, Huckie. Since moving here, our family has grown by one fur baby named Willie. Wilmington has been very welcoming to us. We love spending time with the great friends that we have here, our dogs, and exploring all the great things that Wilmington has to offer.
Ive been in the dental field since I graduated from dental school in Brazil in 2009. My professional life took a different turn after moving to the States, but I am so glad that Kuzma Advanced Dentistry brought me back to the dental field. I am a native of Wilmington, NC and when they say love where you live that is exactly how I feel about my hometown. I graduated from East Carolina in 2001 with my bachelors degree in Elementary Education. I have been in the dental field for several years and just recently joined Kuzma Advance Dentistry in February 2021. I dedicate myself to creating a positive patient experience during your dental visit and look forward to seeing all of your smiles each day! When Im not a work you can find me gardening in my yard or relaxing on the beach.
When people ask me where Im from, Im tempted to just say, America! I was born in California but moved to the Midwest shortly thereafter. I like to say that I split my growing-up time between Kansas City, Missouri and Wilmington, Delaware (the other Wilmington!). My college years began at Vanderbilt University, followed by The University of Delaware, where I majored in Biology with a Physical Therapy interest. Since then, I have lived in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey and Charlotte, NC, prior to landing in the Wilmington, NC area 16 years ago. Although it took me a while to find the right Wilmington, I couldnt be happier to live and work in a city that offers the beach, Americas Best Riverfront, and truly has the feel of being a college town. My two children, Austin and Payton are both UNCW alumni and still call Wilmington home. When Im not working, playing Pickleball, or trying to hang out with my adult children, you will most likely find me traveling, reading on the beach, or attempting any sport or physical activity that keeps me moving! My most recent professional decision to join Dr. Kuzmas team has been one of the best Ive ever made. Each week, I am blessed to have a front row seat to seeing patients smiles, dental health and overall well-being change and improve forever! Dr. Kuzmas neuromuscular approach to dentistry absolutely leads to total dental wellness for all his patients, and its an incredible privilege to work with his amazing team.
