Dr. Halum is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist originally from Munster, Indiana. His vision is to serve as a premier provider of patient-focused dental care for infants, children and teens through compassion, skill and teamwork.
Denise is happy to work in an office where children and their parents walk in smiling and share how much they love coming to Kurt HalumDentistry for Children. Her goal is always to ease their fear and apprehension, especially for children with special needs. Enabling them to relax and diminish their fears or anxiety gives her a great sense of accomplishment. Denise has been a hygienist since 1992 and enjoys spending time with her two sons, family, traveling with friends and her rescue dog Sasha.
Tricia attended Bishop Noll Institute and later graduated in 1992 from IUN as a Registered Dental Hygienist. Tricia has been a hygienist for almost 25 years! Her motto in practice is to treat her patients like family. Shes a kind, patient and caring professional and is always learning to be a better clinician for her little patients! In her downtime, Tricia enjoys boating, skiing, golf and tennis.
Renee joined our team in 2018. She has been married for 30 years and has 2 beautiful daughters. She has lived in Munster for 20 years and has had multiple jobs but has been passionate about dentistry for the last 14 years! She enjoys working with our patients and making the schedule work for everyone! Outside of working in pediatrics, she also enjoys hiking, knitting and spending time with family and friends!
Nicole started working for Dr. Halum in 2007 while in school for her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. She graduated in 2010 but recognized her passion for pediatric dentistry and stayed working in pediatrics! Shes proud to have worked for such a caring doctor for over a decade! She specializes in traumas, special needs children, rehabilitating traumatized children and helping Dr. Halum fix teeth and tissue. She enjoys working both clinically and administratively. When not working, Nicole goes adventuring! She travels frequently and enjoys many outdoor activities such as snowboarding, wakeboarding, mountain biking, kayaking, rock climbing, swimming, camping, hammocking, snowmobiling, surfing, skydiving, extreme sports and riding her motorcycle! There is no shortage of fun in her personal and professional life!
Christina has been dental assisting since 2009. She has a passion for helping people and making them smile! She is a mother of two beautiful girls Mikayla and McKenzie. That makes her love being around children even more. When she is not expressing her passion for pediatrics she enjoys playing with her dog Ariel and working out.

Best children dental office, the entire staff is fantastic and make the dentist office for my boys so easy. Doctor Halum is so patient with the kids, parents, and makes everything super easy. I also cannot thank Alison enough for all her support with insurance and billing questions, she is wonderful, goes above and beyond, and so kind.

I love this office! Every single visit has been nothing short of excellent. They are all so friendly and my son's visits are usually very quick and pleasant. I plan to take my younger son here as well when he's old enough.

Everyone here is very nice and welcoming. My son was nervous at one point and they comforted him so wonderfully so the dentist could continue his checkup. My son left very happy and excited to return at a future date. I highly recommend.

You can never go wrong choosing dentistry for children! My kids have been coming here for over 6 years and i have had amazing experiences. Today they had an appointment and my 3 year old was a little nervous until Tricia talked to him and made him comfortable and he was relaxing in the chair while he got his teeth cleaned! She is an amazing hygienist who loves what she does! Her assistant Zee was also amazing! We had great conversation and she made me feel extremely welcomed! Dr Halum has always been so caring and thorough with everything and will answer any questions you have! Being a dental assistant myself i find myself learning something new every 6 months we come! Awesome staff! Highly recommend! BOOK YOUR APPT YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!!

My son has been going here for years I think even before he started to get teeth. My son had a tight tongue tie and Dr. Halum was never pushy and always asked questions about his eating and now of course what letters he can pronounce to make sure it wasn't interfering with his daily life. I'm glad that he presented options and left it up to me and my son's progress. My son is now 5 and talking well. Staff is friendly and the environment is always clean as well. Appreciate the experience.

This is the 4th dentist I've seen with my children. They are AMAZING. My kids were super comfortable once we walked in. The staff was wonder (some reviews stated otherwise but I can fully assure that's was not the case) the dentist is incredibly practical in terms of being a children's dentist dealing with baby teeth. Toni is the only particular name I remember. We will continue to use this establishment

I searched for a pediatric dentist that accepted my insurance that had good reviews....it was a long search. After Facebook recommendations I found Dr. Halum and everyone was right. Very polite, patient, and gentle. Dr. Halum and his amazing staff know what to say and how to say it to keep kids comfortable.
