Michelle was hired at McLean Dentistry as a Dental Assistant in 2010 and transitioned as the Office Administrator/Manager in 2013. Michelle was raised in Rockville, Maryland and graduated from the University of Maryland College Park in Kinesiology. Her interest in Dentistry came about during her sophomore year of college and has been in Dentistry for over 10 years. Her goal is to make sure every patient leaves the office with a full understanding of their treatments, provide the best care and welcoming experience, treat others with the kind of respect we all like to be treated, answer all questions and concerns with the best capability, and making sure each and every patient walks out with a smile on their face.
Michelle has two children, Ella, and Lucas. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, cuddling with her dog Teddy, watching movies, dining at good restaurants, loves a good book, Yoga, and is a big fan of the Redskins! Michelle currently resides in Falls Church with her husband, Richard.
Peggy Weaver Forbes was raised in McLean and attended Churchill Elementary, Springhill Elementary (the first year it opened), St. Lukes Catholic School, Langley High School, and Old Dominion University, where she received a BS in Dental Hygiene (in 3 Years). Peggy has been involved in Virginia State (VDHA) and Northern Virginia Dental Hygienist Association (NVDHA). She served as President for VDHA from 1986 to 1987. She was awarded the VDHA Outstanding Member Award 1987-1988. She was also the NVDHA Trustee Representative and Chairman for the House of Delegates Manual Committee.
Peggy is currently a Lector and Eucharistic Minister at her church and at a nursing home. She also runs an annual blood drive at her church as well. She also has been very involved in fundraising for both her church and NVDHA. Peggy enjoys yard work, gardening, travel and kayak/canoeing. She lives in Leesburg, Virginia with her husband Richard.
Claudia has been a dental assistant at McLean Dentistry for 16 years. She graduated from Gateway Technical Institute in Kenosha, Wisconsin with a diploma in Dental Assisting. She furthered her education and became a certified assistant through the Dental Assistant National Board, along with certifications in Orthodontics, and Front Desk Administration. Since her graduation, she has enjoyed learning and expanding her dental knowledge at McLean Dentistry. She takes pride in helping patients achieve happy and healthy smiles. In her free time, Claudia enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, and grandchildren.
Risa, RDH has been a dental hygienist at McLean Dentistry for over 20 years. She was born and raised in the Washington D.C. area and is a 1979 graduate of Howard University Dental Hygiene School. Risa not only enjoys teaching her patients the importance of good dental health, and helping them to attain that goal, but also shares and promotes information that helps patients navigate medical issues which can affect their dental and medical health as well. Throughout the years, the interpersonal relationships she has formed have spanned multiple generations within families of the practice, and she knows this is one of the qualities that make this dental office unique. Risa and her husband, Eric live in Maryland with their two dogs, Tigger and Milo, and are the owners of an Auntie Anne's Soft pretzel store in Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda, Maryland.
She has two children, Ethan who lives in Brooklyn, New York, and Dara, who is married to Michael and lives in Bethesda, Maryland with their daughters, Noa and Drew. In her free time, Risa enjoys spending time with her friends and family, painting, needlepoint, and reading.
Nina is the most recent member to join our team. She is a native from South Korea, who has been in the dental field for seven years. Nina has broadened her dental knowledgeable by previously working with other specialists in dentistry such as Periodontists, Oral Surgeons, and Pediatric. Her passion is to encourage and promote the effect of proper dental care.
In 1989, Dr. Ramez Saba graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. After completing his undergraduate studies, he continued at Ohio State where to earned his doctorate degree as a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 1993. While he studied and practiced clinically, Dr. Saba also participated in research and was recognized with the Excellence Award by the Academy of Dental Materials, and received the Merit Award from the Post College Assembly of student table clinics.
After graduation, Dr. Saba remained in Columbus, Ohio for three years where he worked as a clinical instructor in the Ohio State University dental clinic, and also pursued his career in private practice. In 1996, he and his family moved to the Washington, D.C. area, where he has been practicing dentistry in both McLean, Virginia, and Maryland for over 25 years.
Dr. Saba believes that the key to providing exceptional patient care is the combination of compassion and skill. As a doctor, he recognize his patients are individuals who each have unique wants and needs, and who have placed a great deal of trust in him and his team. For, the importance is valuing the person, and the relationship he builds with every one of his patients. With ongoing participation in continuing education and seminars, he stays up to date on the latest advancements in dentistry to provide the best and newest treatment options for his patients. Dr. Saba attended the world renowned Kois Center of continuing education and research in Seattle, Washington, where he completed a nine-course curriculum and earned a graduate status in 2010. He stays current with annual Kois Center symposiums, and he maintains membership in the American Dental Association (ADA) and local dental societies.
On a personal note, Dr. Saba and wife, Dr Claudia Saba, a practicing rheumatologist in Northern Virginia, have lived with their in McLean since 1998. He is a sports enthusiast and in his free time enjoys biking and traveling with his family. Dr. Saba looks forward to the opportunity to meet you, and to care for your dental needs, thus providing you with a foundation for good oral and physical health.
A native of Massapequa, New York, graduated from Lehigh Universityin Bethlehem, Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Biology, then went on to Georgetown University School of Dentistry to earn his Doctorate in dental surgery in 1980. Upon graduation from dental school, Dr. Rolf joined the United States Navy where he had a distinguished 20-year career. His career in the Navy had many facets that including dentistry on ships such as the hospital ship USNS Comfort, supervising clinics, and teaching. During this time, Dr. Rolf completed a two-year post-doctorate residency in comprehensive dentistry. He has been stationed around the world from Japan to Italy and finally at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. At the Naval Hospital, he was the program director for a residency program and retired with the rank of Captain in 2000. Dr. Rolf and his wife Joan continued to reside in Potomac, Maryland since 1996 and have three sons Ryan, Brett, and Jordan; and a granddaughter, Parker Lee.
Throughout his career, Dr. Rolf has been awarded numerous academic honors and credentials including board certification by both the American Board of General Dentistry (ABGD) and the Federal Services Board of General Dentistry (FSBGD). He has earned the prestigious Master of the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD), an accomplishment earned by less than 2500 general dentists nationwide. In 1998 he received a Fellowship from the Academy of Dentistry International (ADI), a worldwide dental organization recognizing his work in promoting dentistry and dental education around the world. He has been recognized in the Washingtonian Magazine and Northern Virginia Magazine as one of the top dentists in the Washington, DC area since 2006.
Dr. Rolf is currently active in numerous dental organizations including the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Northern Virginia Dental Association, NOVA Institute, Spears Study Club, and the Millennium Study Club. Dr. Rolf offers comprehensive dental treatments that include cosmetic, implant, and restorative dentistry with your total health in mind. Her education continued in Boston, where with the support of the NationalInstitutes of Health she received a Master's of Science (MS) degree inEpidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health in 2006 and a Certificatein Oral Epidemiology from Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 2007.
Dr. Kanasi finished her Periodontology Residency at Boston UniversityGoldman School of Dental Medicinein 2011 (CAGS). The same year she startedteaching as an Assistant Professor in Periodontology where she continued until2016. Dr. Kanasi has also worked as a Periodontist at Whittier Street HealthCenter and at the BU Dental Health Center, where she has focused on PeriodontalRehabilitation and Implant Dentistry.
Since 2015 she has been working as a Periodontist in different practices inthe NOVA area. She also volunteers her time with Team Smiles, Early Childhooddental education, and other programs benefiting the community.
Dr. Kanasi has authored and co-authored several publications and has receivedmultiple awards including the Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS) Ten under 10an award that recognizes the top ten dentists that have graduated within the past10 years and made significant contributions to the profession, the community, and organized dentistry. Dr. Kanasi was inducted into the International Collegeof Dentists in 2013 and participated in Leadership Institute programs from BostonUniversity and the MDS. She is a member of the American Board of Periodontology, the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, and the Virginia Dental Association.
